I did once as a teen. My parents driveway had a slight curve to it so it was a little tricky to back out of it. When my youngest was an infant, sleep deprived me backed out of the garage without opening the garage door first. OOps. Fortunately, I realized there was a problem before I did too much damage.

Yes, three times. Twice into my DH’s car takes on the driveway, and once into a friend’s car that turned onto my driveway as I was backing out.

Not me, but a friend told the story of when her dh reminded her that she couldn't fit in the garage with the travel thing on top of her minivan (they were leaving on vacation later that day and had one of those hard plastic travel storage things on top.) Yup, sure enough during the day she was doing errands and pulled in the garage...or tried dd's car was hit on the street at her boyfriends by a car backing out of the driveway...to this day I have no idea how in the world it was possible considering there must have been some extreme maneuvers for it them to hit her in the quarter they hit.

No but I am probably jinxing myself - with the way we have to jockey cars around all the time, I am usually extra careful in the driveway. "My" two vehicles are borderline beaters but DH has a nice car and a new truck and I would NEVARRR hear the end of it if I scratched one of his babies.

I personally haven’t. But XDH ran into my car years ago. He hit he back side bumper, and the kids were in there. They were even still young enough that they were both strapped into car seats. I was so pissed at him, because the kids were helpless in there. And he knew my car was there too, so it’s not like he didn’t know.

That happened to my sister. The vehicle she hit was not in its normal driveway spot, but over a foot toward the garage entrance side of the driveway. Oops.

Not me, but DD's friend went to back her parents' car out of the garage shortly after getting her license. She threw it into reverse, gunned it, but forgot to open the garage door. She took out the door and messed up the car.

My dad asked my DH to move our car to another spot. Then dad promptly backed into it.
I treated him like a naughty teenager, LOL.

If I remember correctly StephDRebel has a really funny story about hitting two cars in her driveway. I think she wins. That's exactly who I was thinking of for this! She totally wins.

Couple of years ago DS had a 196-something VW Beetle that he and DH were restoring together. He was parked behind me in the driveway. Our driveway is on a slight incline so my SUV (which is taller than his car anyway) was above his in the driveway. Yes I saw his car behind me when I walked to my car. I was in a rush, DD was late for a school, I had left something in the house anyway so I was going to run in and grab it, wake up DS and have him move the car (I wasn't comfortable with the stick in that car). So I ran in the house and grabbed whatever i had forgotten and promptly forgot to wake up DS. Got back in my car and started backing up - never saw it in the rearview bc I also had a stepladder in the back that was propped on the back seat blocking my view just so... It was a complete disaster. Like I KNEW It was there. I saw it. I meant to wake him up to move it and somehow forgot in like 30 seconds. Do you know how hard it is to find a hood for a vintage beetle of that exact age? It's not possible. I mean, You could eventually find one I'm sure after looking all over the country and paying a ridiculous amount of money. But still. It was not an easy fix. DS was not mad at me, but DH was furious. I was furious with myself. It is a testament to how freaking busy and distracted and stressed I have let my life become that I could forget so quickly the damn car was behind me - my baby's pride and joy. Ugh, it still stings but no one gives me a hard time about it anymore. I was devasted. I mean I cried for hours that morning. And then DD was REALLY late for school.

Unfortunately yes. Me, my son, and one of my daughters have all done it. Bad driving must run on my side of the family.

I ran my car into the trash can, then my son's car and my other sons car....while I was on the front porch.

I feel like this must be a thing every family encounters. When I was in high school my mom back out and side swiped my car that was parked in the driveway.
I was backing out of our garage about two weeks ago, talking to my four year old in the back seat, and stopped just in time from backing into my husband's car. I never would have lived that down!

No... thankfully. But if I did and DH gives me any crap I’ll remind him of backing into a light pole during a test drive.

I backed into my future son in law as he was parked behind me. No damage.
My husband was at his bosses home for a meeting and was parked behind his boss' wife's Expedition. His was a low set car, an older Honda Accord. The boss' wife backed over my husband's car. Up over the hood. She pulled forward, thinking "that wasn't right" and then backed up AGAIN! My husband did not submit it to his boss' insurance because he was his BOSS! I was furious that this woman was so out of it that she did that. Needless to say, My husband drove that car for another year with a concave hood. Ugh.
NO longer work for that guy....

Yup. Hit dh's car once backing out of the garage.
In my defense, I was exhausted, distracted and post-call. I should not have been driving. That was my wake up about driving while tired. Glad it was just a fender bender in my own driveway.

Never hit another car in my own driveway, but forgot to open the garage door one time and I hit that. CRUNCH!

Wasn’t my driveway but the driveway of the funeral home I worked at. I backed the hearse into the limo aka family car as I was on my way to pick up a dead person. My boss, Mr. Thomas, was not too angry with me bc I did not do any damage to either vehicle. Both those vehicles are tanks!
From then on I was not allowed to move the vehicles from the small driveway but I still drove the hearse & family car as necessary.

In 1982 my DH had a DeLorean as a company car. It was in the driveway. I backed out of the garage and scraped it. Since it was stainless steel, I got a piece of steel wool and rubbed out the scratches.

We have a fence next to our house. One of our neighbors parked their car along the fence to get it out of the way of a garage sale and I backed into their car. Argggg

Yes. We had out of state company parked in our long driveway. I volunteered to make a run for ice, popped into the car and bashed into the headlights of their car which was in my blind spot. I felt so foolish.
