Today I'm going to focus on packing away my summer stuff and bringing out my winter clothes. My kitties think this is a fascinating process and will keep me company by pouncing on my laundry and jumping into the shelves on my closet. Life is more fun w/house pets.
Dinner will be chicken sandwiches and tater tots. I made chicken noodle soup last night in the IP for tonight, but dh wanted it last night, so I toasted some French bread and called it dinner. That means that I had to come up with a dinner plan tonight. We have one last tomato from the garden and this is a good way to use it.
What's on your menu?
Ok, this is leannec's last day before she goes back to work. Can we please start the good vibes? You got this, Leanne.

So last night I was cold and tired by the time I got home from work. It was only 22 degrees and dreary after the snow. So I just wanted to stay cuddled with my dogs on the couch. I shamefully ordered pizza in leu of getting off my ass and cooking. 🤷♀️Tonight I am making panko crusted chicken, rosemary garlic smashed potatoes and a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots roasted with olive oil, parmesan, rosemary, and garlic. Good luck tomorrow leannec !!!!

Awwww, thanks ladies! I actually have one more day off and start on Thursday now I'll be at a "home school" near my house on Thursday and Friday ... this school will call me first if they have any subbing positions open any day and I'll go there for all professional development days and things like that ... if they don't have work for me I'll sub at other schools ... sounds good to me I guess I've had a busy morning ... I voted against having the Olympics here in Calgary again (we can't afford it) and then went to the dentist for a cleaning ... now I'm going to play my fashion game on my phone and take a nap because I'm sleeping like crap at night right now Dinner tonight will be hot dogs and fries from Costco ... gotta get some stuff from there and I'm always looking for an excuse to get out of cooking

I hoped you would weigh in and you did!

Only a few cities have made use of the facilities in other ways. Tulsa was up for the 2020 games at one point, I'm glad now that we weren't selected. It probably would have crippled us.

For about the third time in 2 weeks we are having shepherds pie. I really need to find some new recipes to try and spice things up. DH and DS are quite happy with meat and potatoes and veg as every meal. When dd was living at home she was more adventurous in her tastes so I would try many different things. Now I am stuck in a rut. Time to look at my old pinterest boards. leannec you got this. As Pooh says - You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you know.

It’s back to just me again, I had DS for dinner for 3 of the last 4 nights. I think DD is slightly jealous that he can come home when his former boss needs him since he is so close. Not really, but she would love to snuggle her dog but it would be a 4 hour Round trip for her.
I’ll just rustle around in the fridge for some food. There’s chicken in there and chips & salsa, and lettuce, & cheese, I won’t starve.

leannec - I hope all goes well for you on Thursday. We are at the end of 2 wonderful days in Berlin. It is such an amazing city, with so much history - much of it not very pleasant - and we have walked our legs off! Yesterday, we did a 4 hour walking tour. The first part was pre WWI, then we had a quick lunch break and went on to the two wars and the Cold War era. After the tour, we went to one of the Documentation Centers, which is built on the site of the former SS headquarters. They had a special display on Kristallnacht, as well as their permanent exhibition on the rise of the Nazi party. Hard reading, but excellent. After that, we went to the German Spy Museum, which was much better than I expected, but also a bit lighter, with all the spy devices and spy activities, so a good way to wind down from all the horrors of earlier. Dinner was at a Steak House just opposite the museum, which we spotted as we walked out saying ‘ now, what are we doing for dinner?’ Absolutely delicious steaks and very yummy desserts. Today, we first went to the Australian Embassy, as there is an election in my sisters’ home state and they needed to do an absentee vote. Then we went to the DDR Museum, which was an interesting look at the former East Germany. It was part kitsch - all the clothes and household goods - and part a serious look at state and party control over the people. To wind up our Cold War experience, we then went to Bernauerstrasse, where they have preserved a good length - maybe a Kilometer - of the strip where the wall stood, including the inner wall and the ‘death strip’ where the guards watched to make sure no one escaped. Some of the stories told were just heartbreaking. Dinner tonight is simple - we went to the supermarket around the. Or we and bought some fresh soups and bread and will heat that up when we are ready. Oh, and exciting news from home - my DiL is now at 20 weeks in her pregnancy, and she had another scan yesterday. BabyG is looking very healthy and is growing well. Faceboook friends are now betting on if it is a boy or girl, based on the pictures - none of which show anything relevant to this.

Big hugs leannec ! Yesterday I tried to post four times to this thread. Each time I would get kicked off the Internet. Today it keeps giving me spam when I open the board saying that I won something. This morning our kitchen refrigerator freezer went on the fritz again. We called to set up a maintenance appointment and hopefully on Thursday they will be here. I also went to the doctor this morning because I felt like I have a bladder infection. So I am starting on antibiotics tonight. Even though I have a lot of Rechauffee; I need to start cooking what is in the outside fridge. So it will be stuffed flank steaks with broccoli and salad.

I made a huge pot of chicken noodle soup in the Instant-pot yesterday. So I will have that plus some "Thanksgiving" raviolis I picked up at Aldi's, and a salad.

I’ll be home in about an hour and will mix up some bean & ham soup. It’ll have a good couple hours to simmer together before we want to eat . It’s a cold day, wind chill says it feels like 15, and as soon as the sun goes down it will be worse.

We are on day three of a cold drizzle. BRRR. True, it's Georgia cold, but it still feels cold to me.
I dusted off (literally) the old IP and I'm making Beef Stroganoff for dinner. When I first got the IP, I used it all the time and then I ran out of steam (pun intended) and interest and it's been taking up room on the kitchen counter for months. I hope I have still have my IP mojo...DH is excited for more stews and soups. I'll be eating fruit salad and crackers.
I hope your tribe cheer team is giving you some confidence leannec
scrapmaven, I recently switched out seasonal wardrobes as well (I love my 1940's ranch with very, very small closets) and my cats love it! I feel so organzied once I'm done. It might be short lived organization, but I like it.
By the way, I miss seeing newlywoods03 posting on the dinner thread. I like reading about her sweet boys.

tuesdaysgone , I miss newlywoods03 , as well. Perhaps she'll see that she's been tagged and post. I know what you mean about feeling organized. Changing out your closet is a small project, but I will feel so accomplished once it's done. I love my IP. Maybe you could give the relationship a 2nd chance? The Birdhouse Lady Enjoy your Bullwinkle burger. I tried to post a Bullwinkle gif, but I don't have PolarGreen12's mad skills. For those who are wondering, yes, I do have a Bullwinkle watch.

Good thoughts and hugs leannec! I have friends coming over to work on a service project tomorrow night and need to make goodies for that so tonight's dinner needed to be easy. We had roast chicken that I made in advance this weekend when I had more time, pesto gnocchi and green salad.

My house has the yummmmmy aroma of olive oil, garlic, and oregano, so I'm NOT lighting the wonderful smelling candles I usually love to have flickering in the evenings (candles make it so COZY!!) I use a TON of garlic in this dish; it is one of our absolute faves, and SO easy. I've mentioned it a bazillion times here already, but for anyone whose never seen my "recipe" and is interested, I'll post it again.....in a few minutes....I have to go sautee the chicken and steam the broccoli. I actually have MANY things to post, but I'll come back in a few minutes. Ugh, can't those chicken breasts sautee themselves? PolarGreen12----I've noticed you seem to be very hard on yourself; saying you're lazy, and something yesterday I can't totally remember, but it was something about being an idiot who posts snow selfies. Girrrl, please try to be nicer to yourself! There is NOTHING wrong with ordering pizza and snuggling with your doggies after a lonnnng day at work, ANDDD.....driving in snow isn't exactly FUN! I hope your commute isn't too long. OMG, I have had wayyyy too many times in my life when my normally 45-minute commute would turn into 2, 3, even FOUR hours.... alllll because of snow, and do NOT get me started on ICE....omg, it's scary! Sooo many close calls on the road. i'll never forget the time (2001 or '02) there was sleet falling steadily for a few hours while my friends and I were scrapbooking at the lss where we met EVERY. SINGLE. FRIDAY. NIGHT. no matter what. Mind you, this lss was already about 45 minutes from my house----no biggie. Sooo, even though one of my friend's hubbies kept calling her to encourage her to drive home NOW, we were just having wayyyy too much fun to worry about some "silly ice".....OMGGG, did I learn my lesson that night! The main highway was closed, etc. etc. I think it took me around 3 hours to get home, I drove soooo slowly. Several ladies that lived MUCH closer invited me to crash at their house, and it was tempting, because I'm sure we would have ended up scrapping and laughing till the weeee hours,. but I jussst wanted to get home and cozy. BEfore I forget----2sueg.....love hearing about your amaaazing trip, and hope you might share piks ?!?! Sooo happy about your grandbaby, too! cadoodlebug----IF you've posted piks of your awesome trip, I missed them
