Who else remembers them?

I do! As a little kid, I loved it when the Avon lady would visit and she'd break out the little box with all those tiny lipsticks in it. She would always give me one or two and once, she had a new box of samples so she gave me the old one. You'd have thought I'd been given a chest full of gold, I was so excited! Funny thing is, I never became a lipstick-wearer. But man, did I love playing with those tiny things when I was little - mostly putting lipstick on my dolls.

ooh! I remember those, too. I don't wear lipstick either, but those tiny little lipsticks are somehow so mysterious! I actually like the nostalgic poinsettia jewelry in that catalog...

They are how I found my all time favourite colour, Amethyst that I still wear to this day.

I went and looked at the Canadian brochure--it's $50 for the set Can't justify that, I'm afraid . . . I guess I'll just have to mug an Avon lady when she's in the neighbourhood and swipe a couple little lipsticks instead

Yes, I remember! I loved when the Avon lady came to see my mom and left free samples. My mom bought a lot of Avon.

OMG...My mom was the Avon Lady....I remember the favorite color was Pink A Ling....a frosted light pink that was all the rage in the 60's... LOL. I used to love those and the fact that she was the Avon Lady.

I remember them too! My mom was a big time lipstick wearer. She didn’t wear much other makeup regularly but she always liked to have lipstick on when she left the house. I don’t wear lipstick much myself (or even lip balm really) but I ended up winning a silent auction item that included a bunch of these tiny 1” tall lip balm minis from Raining Rose. They are so cute! Raining Rose
I also remember the pendants or pins that opened like a locket and had the solid perfume inside.

I loved those! They were my first introduction into lipstick. I can close my eyes and remember the fragrance of them. We had a neighbor who sold Avon to the moms in the ‘hood. She didn’t have any children of her own, but she was so patient and tolerant with all of the young girls on the street. And there were a lot of us. Every house had at least 3 to 6 kids living in them. There were more girls than boys and this neighbor taught us how to wear lipstick and a few basic makeup products. Not that any of us were allowed to actually wear it in public other than Halloween and sleepovers. Aww, wonderful memories. I should buy these to share with my best friend. We have been best friends since we were in diapers on that block. Thank you for the memory, sharlag.

Those were fun as well as all the other samples Avon would hand out. The ones we had were an all white case, so it would have been more fun had they made them like that, but these are cool as you can see the color through the top.

My mom was the Avon lady when I was little. I loved those little samples. I remember when she would get her shipment, she would let me help her sort her orders. I loved seeing what her customers would order. Good memories.

My grandma used to give me those when my dad took me to visit her! My mom didn’t allow much of a relationship there. As an adult I was able to have more of a relationship before she passed away but we didn’t make a ton of memories. The little tiny lipsticks were *such* a good grandma memory.

Funny thing is, I never became a lipstick-wearer. But man, did I love playing with those tiny things when I was little My mama has always bemoaned the fact that I don't wear lipstick "like a proper lady." She gave me all her samples when I was young and now I give her any real lipsticks that I get in sample boxes, gifts-with-purchases, and so forth. She gets just as excited now as I did then.

I loved them too!
When I saw that set, I thought about getting it for my daughter, but then I realized that they wouldn't have much meaning to her except as a collection of a ton of different lipstick colors! She's a make up connoisseur, as probably are most teens and 20-somethings today. Still not sure and almost done with her shopping anyway.
It's kind of funny to me that I've gone back to Avon, a line that seemed to be focused on older women when I was younger. Now in my 50's, I am one of those older women! I've been using some Rodan and Fields products and when I saw that Avon now had a similar lash growing product, I decided to take a look and try some substitutes for what I had been buying through R+F. Haven't tried the lash product yet as I still have the LashBoost left but have been using an eye cream and gel that seems to be just as good so far.

Was it Avon that had the Hawaiian White Ginger scent? I loved that when I was a kid.
