Yes, I know that we haven't passed Thanksgiving, but I am kind of craving fudge or cracker candy. After the holidays I am thinking of branching out.
What is your favorite Christmas candy or cookie?

I love cracker candy, mostly because it reminds me of gagenana and gagemom, who were really awesome peas. I like loads of Christmas cookies: snickerdoodles, butter balls (russian tea cakes), sprinkle tops (shortbread cookie dipped in chocolate, then nonpareils, jimmies, or walnuts), chewy noels which i can neither explain nor successfully make, and so on

My favorite is a traditional sugar cookie w/ royal icing.
My cookies taste good, but they don't look very good.

Thumbprint cookies or gingerbread people, I can't decide. But then there's rum balls and pecan pie bars....

I'm not a sweets person but I do love a good, warm, thick, chewy chocolate chip cookie. Levain Bakery size cookie. Boring, I know, but so satisfying when I'm in my Pjs , relaxing after the family has gone home and all the dishes are washed and put away.

Peppermint Crunch Junior Mints. Hands down some of THE BEST Christmas candies. RUN, don't walk to Target and buy a dozen boxes when you see them. They go fast and you will want at least 3 or 4 for yourself.

My favorite cookie is a really spicy, chewy-inside ginger snap. Must be coated with sparkling sugar for more crunch on the outside.

My mother made an amazing pinoche for Christmas. It is like a brown sugar fudge. I have not been able to replicate it in my elevation.

My favorite cookie is a really spicy, chewy-inside ginger snap. Must be coated with sparkling sugar for more crunch on the outside. A couple of months ago my BIL dug out my sister's recipe and made a copy for me. I'm excited to make them in the next week - the individual cookies freeze well prior to me baking them next month. My son brought up his memory of her making them for him when he was a teen, so I'm especially happy to get to make them for him, and for my BIL as well. Just picked up the turbino sugar for them this afternoon

Oh I like WAY too many cookies to choose just one kind, so I won’t. As for candy, I like homemade vanilla sea salt caramels, divinity and vanilla Tootsie Rolls that only come in the big single flavor bags at Christmas time. Some of the big Hammonds specialty flavored candy canes are pretty tasty too (Birthday Cake was good but the Red Licorice didn’t taste anything like red licorice. Root Beer or Chocolate Mint are always good.)

My two favorites are macarons (I especially like making lemon and peppermint), and an almond thumbprint cookie. Both are labor intensive though. For candy, I've made the English Toffee recipe that's on the inside of the Ghiradelli Baking Bittersweet Chocolate bar wrapper for years (it's online too). Everyone loves it. Some of us, maybe a little too much This is a recipe that you pull out the good, expensive vanilla for.

I love the flavors of orange and chocolate together so I usually make a some type of cookie featuring chocolate and Grand Marnier. I've also made these cookies for the past two years made with almond meal instead of flour, caster sugar, and Amaretto that have gotten rave reviews. Hmmm, I think what I'm saying is that I like booze in my cookies.
