I fell hard for traditional scrapbooking in 2005 and my passion has not wavered. I miss Archivers. I miss the frenzy. I miss Creating Keepsakes. Does anyone out there still create the old school scrapbook pages, pray tell? I favor 12x12 formats and just do not, as in, DO NOT, get the pocket scrapbooking thing. At all. It kind of makes me sad; I suppose I feel it is a sign of a fading out hobby. Am I wrong? Am I alone with these sentiments? Oh and hello! Happy Thanksgiving!

I think everything comes in cycles. Yeah things are in a bit of a lull right now, but I fully expect it to come back around. Maybe not magazines though - those seem to be dying for good.

It's only 12 by 12 for me. I don't do Project Life, Traveler's Notebooks or planners...

A year ago I was totally against pocket scrapping. But now, I love both pocket and 12x12. I can get SO many pictures into a pocket album!

I mostly do 12x12 pages. I also make a few mini albums and I do like documenting in my TN here and there.

I still do traditional scrapbook. Some albums are 12x12 and others are 8.5 x 11. Digital scrapbooks don't appeal to me.

I still do traditional scrapbooking. 12x12 is all I do. Have been doing it for over 20 years. have over 80 albums. Each child and grandchild has their own set of albums. I still keep my children's( I have 4)scrapbooks up to date and oldest child will be 40 in February. I agree I miss all the stores that use to be around.

I still do traditional 12x12 scrapbooking. Most of my pages are multi-photo, but I try to experiment with the trendy stuff too here an there, including a few single photo and mixed media pages. I have a few pocket pages mixed in too.

I mostly do traditional scrapping (apart from December Daily) although my size of choice is 9x12 because 12x12 is just too big for me to fill and store.

I still consider myself a traditional 12x12 scrapbooker. I do love to use pocket pages when I have lots of pictures (sports, holidays, etc.) and almost use them exclusively in my annual vacation book. I rarely have one photo pages, but mostly because I love to take a lot of pictures in order to capture the story I will want to tell on my LOs.

Still do 12” x 12”. And very lumpy pages. No longer do mini albums as they aren’t ones that get kept over the years. As far as PL...never been a fan...too much like the magnetic page albums of yesteryear, I miss all the LSSs, CKU and crops. I now scrap by myself but it was a lot more fun surrounded by others scrapbookers, I miss taking classes from Tim Holts, Heidi Swapp and most of the big names in the industry. I really am thankful for HSN 24 hour craft days once a month...otherwise, I would be clueless about the latest and greatest. The English company, Crafters Companion, is great. Obviously, England is into paper arts a lot more than is happening in the USA these days. The monthly subscription box has been so much fun as a new technique is taught every month complete with all the supplies. And I just ordered their quarterly magazine.

I remain a true 12x12 scrapbooker. I still put my pages into Creative Memories albums! I do like a 6x8 pocket page album to document my December. I truly enjoy scrapbooking and am hoping to get into @scrapbook Generations Crop Event in September 2019 so I can scrapbook and crop the entire weekend!

I am still a traditional scrapbooker. A couple years ago I took a class that was a mix of traditional and pocket scrapbooking in a Christmas album and I really liked that, so I am doing Christmas albums that way. Only the Christmas ones though. It would be too much to totally switch to pocket but I could see just adding in pocket pages for extra pictures that I don't want to scrap but don't want to just leave in a box somewhere. But I will never give up the traditional pages. And I do mini albums

I scrap traditional 8.5X11 pages and I do miss the LSS, and magazines. I miss my scrap girlfriends and all of that. I am an empty nester who recently took one of my extra bedrooms as a scrapbook room and its amazing in there-the scraproom I always wanted...but it is not the same fun as when scrapbooking was in its hey day.

I like 12 x 12, with some imagination you can get a lot into that space.

I do mostly pocket scrapping with 12x12 layouts added occasionally. The majority of the people that attend crops at my LSS do traditional, it's not going anywhere. It's all scrapbooking. I see tons of inspiration on Instagram and Facebook and You Tube. You just need to go out and look for it.

When I discovered modern day scrapbooking, it was 12x12 for me. But I found that since my true love is papercrafting in general, I am open to a lot of different sizes, and formats, sometimes even mixed.
ETA: except digital. That does not seem fun to me.

This, 100%. Except my 12x12 was 12x12 pocket pages. Discovering that has opened up my eyes to papercrafting. I love escaping from the digital world.

Welcome, Samara! I am glad you posted. You are not as alone as you may have thought.
I have been scrapbooking since 1996, and I still love it. I do traditional pages, 12x12 format, with lots of pictures. I miss having a scrapbook store nearby. There are still 3 in the area where I live (DFW), but they are all at least a 45 minute drive from my home, and the best one is over an hour away through horrid traffic.
Photo albums have always been around. There will always be scrapbookers. Not everyone wants to go digital, or be limited to pocket pages. Knitting, quilting, and crocheting used to be considered old lady crafts, but they have made a comeback. I hope that scrapbooking will rebound someday, too, but who knows.
I will keep on scrapbooking the way I enjoy. I can't see myself changing to a different format. I like taking photos, and I like playing with pretty papers. That will never change.

I do a little bit of everything. For me, each format serves a different purpose so I use different formats depending on what it is that I'm documenting. Like you, I didn't really understand the appeal of pocket pages for a long time. It wasn't until I took an Ali Edwards class that I fell in love with that style of memory keeping. I use it now for documenting and recording the everyday life stuff that happens, telling smaller stories. But I still create "traditional" 12x12 or 8.5x11 pages when I have a photo or photos that I love and want to feature, when I want to record an event in more detail, or when I have a specific story that I want to record. I've also started dabbling in mini albums and travelers notebooks as well just to see how I can make use of those formats.

I started out with 8.5x11 in the late '90's and went back to it about 10 years ago. I do what can be called nothing else but traditional scrapbooking.
But the industry had to branch out to capture new customers, and even still the wave is over. There are still plenty of traditional supplies to buy though.

It’s true the peak of the hobby/industry seems to have passed, but you only have to look at our gallery to see that traditional scrapping is still happening. Welcome!

Waving madly here! I’m a traditional scrapbooker. Cutting, taping, gluing... I love making 8x8 books of small events. I love making 12x12 books of events. 6x6, 8.5x11, and whatever size I can find, lol. I have a decent inventory of supplies in my house. Managed pretty well, I for the most part know what I have on hand. I just moved 6 months ago, and for the first time have a room that has a door. I love this door. I’ve been lucky enough to have a space to work in for 20 years, but never had a door until 6 months ago. I love my door. I can shut the mess in all I want We have a pretty good LSS in town, HL, Mike’s and Joann’s. Our LSS has a great selection of local events, all the schools, and will special order. They have Bazzill, and just lots of stuff I want to play with. I miss the days of Creating Keepsakes, and CKU. I went to 9 of them, all over the country. Oh, the days of shopping in SLC when I went to Provo. I still have a great group of people in my area that get together a few times a year for weekend retreats. In 2 weeks I’m heading out of town for a couple days with several of them. Ahhh. These dates set the calendar many times. “Sorry, can’t do that, I’m scrapbooking that weekend 😂”

Hello and Welcome samara! You'll be pleasantly surprised to find that although many have branched out in size and type of scrapbooking that here at 2peasrefugees, we are all still passionate or at least passionately supportive (as some have no time or need a break for various reasons). So you've found a wonderful place to come hang out. Personally, I do the variety. Traditional paper pages and digital pages, pocket pages, a few mini albums. I mainly do 12x12, but with 3 ring binders, I can also throw in the 8.5x11, 6x12, or 8x8. I love the variety and the ability to do what creatively suites me at the time. Sometimes that's clean and simple and sometimes that's getting my art journaling supplies out. Welcome.

I do, and love, project life regularly and I create mini albums here & there, but I still create traditional scrapbook pages. Although over the last few years I have gone to 9x12 or 8 1/2 x 11 more than 12x12, but that's just because of my album formatting. I tend to make 2-3 traditional pages per month. Sometimes I do use hybrid techniques on these pages, but I don't do that frequently.
I don't get the traveler's notebook trend (how are they going to last? how do you keep the books from not being too bulky when you add stuff to pages? and it would drive me crazy to have to plan out the entire book before I started creating or deal with horrible album flow) and I don't do the planner stuff just for the sake of decoration/art, but I do keep a paper planner--for actually keeping track of appointments, etc.
