I am so embarrassed We've lived here in San Antonio for two years, and I've even ordered from Kohls since getting here - I have NO idea why I didn't remove my old Colorado Springs address. But I didn't, and now my packages are sitting on the porch of my old house a thousand miles away from where I live So, Peas, tell me the tale of when you did something idiotic. Bonus points if it was idiotic and expensive!

Oh no, what are your options? Can you ask an old neighbour to take them in at least.

I don't know anyone who is currently there - we've all moved. Luckily we were living on an Air Force Base so I am able to reach out to the spouses' group to see if anyone will help me track down the new tenants - so all is not lost, but I am still really upset with myself.

I did the same thing earlier this fall, over a year since I moved. It was an online shop I rarely order from.Luckily, my old place is 4 blocks from my new place. I left a note on the front door, and one of the current residents of my old condo building gave me a call to come pick it up.
How are you going to get your packages?

How many packages? Contact the seller/s ..... have those in possession of them return to sender or you can pay to have them forwarded to you.

I did that with DS's $160 basketball shoes. I caught it, but they had already shipped. Luckily, I put in an address that didn't exist yet, so they called and said they couldn't find the house. I told them I would pick it up at the fed ex place (or ups, can't remember).
I hope you find a way to get your stuff.

Are they definitely delivered or enroute? Have you time to make any changes?

IF they have not been delivered, the original sender/store can change the delivery. I would do that if possible even if I had to pay the difference.

I booked our airfare for a cruise- 5 of us. 3 days before we were scheduled to leave, I looked at the paperwork..... I booked our outbound flight for us to leave at 4PM THE DAY OF THE CRUISE!!!! I was so panicked, and mad at myself, and flustered. $1500 later, I got our flights all switched. I STILL get sick thinking about it!!

Lolz my DS did this with like 4 different packages after we moved. The new owners were kind enough to contact our realtor, who contacted us, and fortunately my MIL still lives in PA so she got the packages for us and brought them on her next visit.

I ordered a ton of books last year and they shipped to my old address. Thank goodness it is just across town. I stopped by the morning after the tracking said delivered and knocked on the door. No answer...but noticed that the box was sticking out of the mailbox with "return to sender". I snagged the box out and went on with my day.

My Dh did that. Same cities too. I think the new home owners just refused the package and it went back to the sender.

There was an online place I used to order from frequently. Once, while dd was in a summer program on the opposite coast, I sent her some things from that site.
After that, no matter what my default address was and no matter what I did, anything I ordered defaulted to that temporary address! I would place the order, double check it, pay and then see in my confirmation that it was shipping to CA. Would call them and they would fix it. They blamed it on Paypal but I removed that address from Paypal and their website. I just don't order from them anymore.

Shortly after we moved from CA to WA we had a planned trip to HI. DH booked the flights when we still lived in CA. Only he booked us to fly from Lisa Angels instead of Seattle. We had to book a new flight from Seattle to LA and stay over at a hotel by the airport.
