Minnetonka Mocassins. I kind of want to tease you for not thinking of them, fellow Minnesotan.
I just purchased some for DH.

I did think of those. But I wonder, are they still good? I don't think they have a lot of support?

Haflingers. They have cork soles that conform to the person’s feet and provide really great arch support as a result. DH has previously had plantar fasciitis and these keep him from getting it back. They’re not cheap but they will last a very long time.

How old is your dad? Does he walk pretty well? If he is a tad unsteady on his feet, I would get something with a harder sole vs a soft soled shoe. I would want him in something pretty stable to keep him from tripping and falling.
I'm partial to the LL Bean family of slippers but I mostly like their scuffs. Something that's more of a shoe might also be better if he's sometimes unsteady.

I just got Rob a pair of Ugg Ascot slippers in the China Tea color. They're a bit pricey, but the reviews said that they lasted several years. There's a great solid, nonslip, thick sole that is sturdy enough for the shoes to be worn like regular shoes. You can't see the shearling unless you look closely, and they're really very handsome shoes.

Homeys slippers are worth a look if you can get them in the US, lots of different colours and patterns and they last for years. I've had mine for seven years and they're still going strong!

Ha! For some reason, my brain translated this title to mean “the slippers of good men…”

Ha! For some reason, my brain translated this title to mean “the slippers of good men…” I was going to tease the OP and ask if the man had to be good to get the slippers.

I did think of those. But I wonder, are they still good? I don't think they have a lot of support? I think they seem almost as nice as my Ugg slippers. They have a sturdy sole, which he needs, as he's disabled . He needed a wider width than the Uggs brand, to fit his heavy socks he likes.
