I hate them. Absolutely hate them. I want the soft, warm glow of the old ones. Dang it. LEDs have such a harsh, bright light. Whenever I find the good ones, I buy as many as I can and hoard them.
I know. First-world problems.

I hate them too. They look blue and cold. They’ve come out with some good “warm” white now thankfully. Probably from people like us bitching online. lol.

I agree! I don't like the blueish white as well as the warm white. The warm white looks cozier.

I hate them with a passion!! I bought a few boxes not realizing what I had done. Luckily I plugged one box in before unwinding the whole mess. EWWW...that gross blue light and the lights had a jiggle to them. I'm not sure how to explain that...it wasn't like good solid light it was jiggly. Any hoops, they went right back to the store for a full refund.

Yes, hate the color and the subtle “Flicker”. Ugh.

I'd be curious to know if there's ANYone who actually prefers them?
I despise them. They look tawdry and cheap -- like neon lights in an old bar.

For the past few years I have had to listen to my BFF bitch and whine about LED Christmas lights. I think they actually make her twitch.

Like every inch of their house, the trees, bushes, fence. They even lined the driveway in them. So they may be that one person in the world that likes them.

I hate them, too. I want the warm glow of the old style incandescent bulbs.

I hate them. My DH wants to replace all of Christmas lights with LED. I’m dragging my feet on getting our decorations out of the attic because I know he’s going to pitch out all of the non-LED light decorations. Bah-humbug.

So funny you posted this...I was just now looking out the window at the house right down and across the street that's draped in those cold white LED lights, and feeling miffed that I'm going to have to look at that every night for the next month. And then I thought that in another twenty years, those will be the norm and nobody will remember wonderful warm Christmas lights.
I may be going full Grinch this year, so take my light rant as part of that!

Any hoops, they went right back to the store for a full refund. They have a refresh rate slow enough that you can see it. I hate photographing them at weddings. The camera is faster than the lights most of the time and that makes them look like they are out. They give me a headache if I'm around them a lot. My sister too.

Add me to the list of not being a fan - I'm just about thinking no lights would be better than LED (just joking)!

I just bought some old school lights tonight, as a matter of fact. Ace Hardware is a good place to find them.

I'd be curious to know if there's ANYone who actually prefers them? I have a new tree and it has the tiny fairy LED lights. They are the 'warm' lights - so not the blue tone. Oh my god! I love it! It is just the most beautiful delicate light on the tree. It is the kind on the wire with the little 'blob' of light.

I wasn't a fan at first, now I like them...but this is Vegas, Baby! The brighter lights make our dark desert landscaping a little more festive. It's only snowed here 2 times in 20 years, and it was before everyone had LED lights. I can see how they would be obnoxious reflecting off white snow. They are the worst to try and photograph.

Lol my FIL is head of the local American Legion in town and he is always doing the decorating down there. He has that place lit up inside and out like Broadway year round with LED lights...they have a bar in the building there and you can’t even sit in there for long because the lights are so bright.

They apparently LOVE them in the White House--they were the first thing I noticed about the decor, even before those hideous red trees.

Hate them! The warm white is better than the really bluish white but overall they are just so bright they hurt my eyes. I find myself squinting at them and I can't see any decorations on the tree, just the lights.

I don't like them at ALL, except for the ones I have in my cabinets (that I could adjust the brightness). They last forever and they're so crystal clear bright! They are piercingly bright though.
I'm sticking with the old school plug in strands of soft white lights vs. the battery tiny light strands that drive me nuts! Sometimes old-school is just better!

I was so excited to get rid of all my old lights and switch to the LED lights a few years ago. I have no idea what I was thinking because I hate them.
I just drove by a house with the old lights last night and it looked so pretty.
