She's not exactly a Christmas present, although her arrival is timely. She's a reward for getting myself out of a relationship that wasn't very good for my well-being. I've waited the last couple of months for her, and I'm so happy she's finally here!

She's beautiful! I love her name. It was a nickname I called my first cat. Merry Christmas to you and Minou!

She is so gorgeous! Is she an traditional Siamese-other wise known as an apple head?
We have one too. Jesse will be 3 in February. The years have flown by. He rules this household and whatever he wants, he gets. Is this your first Siamese?

i thought that the apple head was the non-traditional, but I must be mistaken. She has some angular lines to her, but not as extreme as some I've seen. She is my 6th siamese (having had 4, growing up, and 1 as an adult.) It's my first time having a kitten in a very long time though, so she's keeping me on my toes!

She is *so* purry and lovey - I waited about 8 weeks to know for sure I was getting her, and it was such a long time to know she was going to be mine. So I think I instantly loved her the moment I saw her, and even more in the days since.

Apple heads are know as traditional Siamese. They are the same type of Siamese that were brought over from Siam (now called Thailand) to England. They have the bodies like regular cats and round faces like regular cats with the distinctive Siamese coloring. Modern Siamese are the result of breeding to obtain a slimmer body appearance and a wedge shaped head. Both Siamese have the same personality characteristics although the traditional Siamese tend to be healthier. Jesse is my second Siamese with Biru being my first. He was also a traditional Siamese who lived to be 17. I always had rescue cats before and have had cats since I was 8. I don't know what got me interested in Siamese cats but once I did I did some research and decided I wanted a traditional Siamese. I know what you mean about how Minou is keeping you on your toes. Jesse still does this to me every day. They are not like regular cats. They want your attention and their intelligence demands stimulating play time to feed their active brain cells. But they are love bugs and amazing cats. BTW, Jesse gets super cold in the winter. I think it's their thin coats because they were "designed" to live in Thailand. I don't know where you live but if it's cold where you are I highly recommend the Millie beds that you can order from here siameserescue.org Once you get to the site look for Shop with us and under that The Siamese Store. The Millie Bed is a warm bed made from Polar Fleece that is stuffed with fiberfill and it's fully washable. It's great for any cats or even small dogs. Jesse loves his and he's in it many hours each day and all through the night. He actually has 2-one for upstairs and one for downstairs. They are $28.00 and are handmade by the rescue volunteers. Have an amazing Christmas with your new love and I wish you all of the happiness in the world.

Have an amazing Christmas with your new love and I wish you all of the happiness in the world. My last siamese, a flame point, was an applehead. Minou has more of a traditional appearance, but not as extreme as I've seen. I prefer the appleheads, but think she's beautiful just the same. My last cats lived to be 17 1/2 and 21 1/2. My boy had problems with his kidneys, so I decided to go with a female this time around. I love their personalities, and will enjoy having her to talk to. She's been *so* snuggly from the start, although she's taken to sleeping in a dresser drawer throughout the day. I've removed extra clothing from each of my drawers, and have pulled her chosen one out just a bit more to facilitate her entry/exit.
I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada, and it is cold here. My apartment stays rather warm, but I will definitely check out the beds you've recommended. That they're made by rescue volunteers is definitely admirable.
Thank you so much for your advice and kind words!

However, I must complain that there is only one picture. I would like to see more cuteness please.

Merry Christmas to you! What a fabulous way to celebrate your new life! (I have family in Nova Scotia. I love it there!)
Where are you guys getting all these affectionate Siamese cats? We have one that we've raised since she was a kitten. Maybe because she was found abandoned in the back lot of a grocery store with her siblings but no mother, but she is aloof as can be. She does chat us up, but will hang out with us from afar. She'll be in the same room as us but an acceptable distance away.
