UGGGHHHHH........I have a couple of events that I really want to scrap: a girl's weekend with my daughter, sister, and 2 nieces, and my daughter's gender reveal party. I am so excited about the EVENTS, but not the photos. They are just ok pics. The color is way off, they were taken multiple cameras so none of them really match in tone. So much yellow tint, blech. I love the pictures themselves, love the events, but the flipping colors are throwing me off!!!
I thought about printing them in black and white, but that kinda defeats the purpose of the best (composed and story telling) photos of the gender reveal....kinda takes the "punch" away if you can't tell what color the confetti is, LMBO!!!!!
And the girl's weekend we had cruddy weather, and so many photos taken at night or inside without flash. They are all just blah looking. I guess I could see how those look in black and white.
I know i'll scrap them anyway, but I want to love the pages when I look at them and I just can't find the papers to jazz these pictures up.
What do yall do when the photos are of an event you want to scrap, but they aren't stellar pics?

I really dislike bad photos. But I have learned, as a scrapbooker, that all photos tell a story. I scrapped really lousy blurry pictures of my dgd pitching a crying fit on Halloween. I just carried on as if they were perfect photos. It’s hard. I think we learn to be more critical of photos because we’re using them to create something. I’d be willing to bet in a few years when you look at these pages you’ll be so happy to have the memories documented that you won’t notice the photo quality much.

Have you tried color correcting with whatever photo software or app you use?
For the gender reveal party you could have the main photo in b&w and then color the confetti only to the appropriate color. Again you would need photo software like PSE.

Have you tried color correcting with whatever photo software or app you use? Colour correction is the #1 trick. You can use Photoshop or simple phone apps to do this (even A Color Story with just the included, free filter packs will do the trick).

I had the same problem recently when I tried Amazon’s photo service. The pictures were from the boysenberry festively but to look at them you’d think I’d gone the a raspberry festive. I’m going to try reprinting a few on my photo printer.

I just scrap them anyway. I don't have editing software. Sometimes I'll crop in Snapfish.
In your case, I might mat all the supporting photos on the same color cardstock, then double mat the main photo (inside mat the same color as supporting picture mats, larger mat a more eye drawing color).
I find if my whole layout is matchy matchy, I won't be annoyed by less than perfect pics.

A few quick edits for color correction will probably make a world of difference. If you're using your phone, there's a free app from Adobe called PS Express (Photoshop Express). It's easy to use, and I've saved many so-so pictures with it. If you're using your computer, there are a lot of free programs that you can download also. I use PS Elements, which isn't free, and I really like it. HTH.

Assuming you can't colour correct what about printing most in B&W and just one in colour with the pink confetti.

Sometimes using a black mat works for me. It makes the photos stand out. And, you don't have yellow tints up against white in the paper.
I remind myself a bad photo is better than no photo.

That's a bummer! I have had that happen, especially when I switched to mainly using my iphone for pics. I do find that the basic editing you can do on your iphone can really help with color correction - I would say I use lighten the most, although I've had the dark/yellow images that I could fix pretty well. I just bought a new DSLR and am thrilled that I can use wifi to get the photos onto my iphone to continue to do my editing on there. I also use Snapseed on my iphone, which I like, although it has more than I need most of the time.
For me, I will sit and favorite a bunch of photos that I plan to print soon and work on editing them when I have time (riding in the car, waiting at appointments, etc.). I rarely take the time to put photos on my computer and edit them there anymore, and doing my editing on my phone has been good enough for my needs.
Hope you can improve them a bit (I like the B&W idea for the girls weekend pics) or either way, you won't regret scrapping them as they are so you have the memories.
