ETA: as I've said before, a lot of his paintings aren't his original ideas. He uses YouTube tutorials to get ideas and learn techniques. While he does change the paintings up somewhat, he can't market them as his own.

Oh, I love it. He should me a line of greeting cards with his paintings. They are so charming.

I understand that your husband doesn’t feel comfortable marketing the paintings as original art, but would he paint a commissioned piece for a pea? I enjoy his style of painting and am looking for something with red in it for a spot in my family room. That room is my Yosemite tribute room, my favorite vacation spot, so I have it decorated in a woodsy rustic theme.
Maybe you could ask him if he would ever consider painting a picture for a pea who understands that it isn’t his original design and is fine with that.

I'll ask him but, knowing him, he wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.

That painting is so nice! Love it! If your DH wants to try working in oils, have him look for Wilson Bickford on YouTube. He has wonderful tutorials on how to paint clouds, trees, etc. Plus, he even has full classes on PBS. I have taken several real classes from him, and learned a lot! He's based in New York - upstate, and has classes all over. But if you don't live in the area, PBS or YouTube will help. I think he likes acrylics since they are so forgiving.

If I recall, I think a lot of the techniques can be used with acrylics as well! I think he likes acrylics since they are so forgiving. His favorite is if he doesn't like the way a painting turned out, he just paints over it and starts anew!

I just opened Pinterest today and the original of this painting was on my home page. I haven’t searched for acrylic paintings at all. How bizarre! Your DH’s art is almost an exact copy - I really like the style:)
