I read A Christmas Carol every year and really enjoyed Dying for Christmas by Tammy Cohen last year. Does anyone have a good Christmas book to recommend? Any genre is welcome.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. I giggle like a school girl every time I read it. Just checked Amazon UK, it's only available from a third party seller at over £45 plus delivery! No description of the story, now I'm curious.

Rover Saves Christmas by Roddy Doyle! It’s a kids' book, but it’s hysterical, and DS and I have great fun reading it every Christmas.

Miracle by Connie Willis is a great collection of Christmas-themed short stories. I re-read it about every other year. Some are funny, some are touching, some are weird, some are all three.
I also have The Big Book of Christmas Mysteries (I think that's what it's called) with a ton of short mysteries from every famous (and some obscure) mystery writers, spanning more than 100 years. It's fun to dip into when you don't have time to read a whole book in the holiday rush.

I know it's super cheesy, but my favorite Christmas book will always be my Little Golden Book "Twas the Night Before Christmas". I can still envision my mom reading it to me in an animated way when I was little.

I have a few.
The Autobiography of Santa Claus by Jeff Guinn (5 Stars). His two other books, How Mrs Claus Saved Christmas and The Great Santa Search both revived 4 Stars for me.
Oliver The Cat Who Saved Christmas by Sheila Norton (5 Stars). Told from the point of view if the cat and it was simply magical.
Christmas at Sea Pines Cottage by Sally Smith-O’Rourke also 5 Stars.
A Christmas Passage & A Christmas Visitor both by David Saperstein both 5 Stars.
I’ll be watching this thread for more great Christmas reads !

I'm a sucker for Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg. Corny and predictable but I love it.
I just read Last Christmas in Paris and it was pretty good.

I haven't read it yet -- but I kinda want to read Nancy Thayer's 'A Nantucket Christmas'

Christmas isn’t Christmas without reading “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
Last year I read “When Santa Fell to Earth” by Cornelia Funke with DD. It was surprisingly good for a kid’s chapter book.

I laughed out loud reading "On Strike for Christmas" by Sheila Roberts, shes a great writer and has written several Christmas books. I will also second anything by Nancy Thayer.
My favorite childrens Christmas book is "Mr. Willoughby's Christmas Tree"....I still love reading it as an adult.

It's a short story, but the Gift of the Magi is my favorite story.

My favorite is A Christmas Carol. Skipping Christmas by John Grisham The Best Christmas Pageant ever by Barbara Robinson Cheesy, fluff Christmas books by Debbie Macomber I've been wanting to add to my Christmas reading list. I haven't read many of this genre.
ETA: I haven't read the book Wishin' and Hopin' by Wally Lamb, but I've seen the movie and it's adorable. It's a mixture of The Christmas Story and The Best Christmas Pageant ever.
