Anyone here done Simon Says Stamp CREATE before? $699 for two days. Is it worth it? Lots of make and takes. 4 different instructors for classes, including Dina Wakely, and Paula from Tim Holtz's brand. I am intrigued. But OMG the price. On top of airfare and hotel. Is it justifiable?

I was wondering the same. I live close enough to drive, but hesitating to pull the trigger on that price, especially right before Christmas. I keep see sawing back and forth between yes and no.

I would love to go. If card-making was my business or I wanted to network (do people still say networking?) to become a design team member then I would consider it. But with airfare, hotel, food, etc. the weekend would cost around $1500. Add to that purchases of goodies. Too much for someone like me who just likes to buy things to organize and dabble a bit at cardmaking.

I got the email and checked it out. Needless to say, my jaw dropped at the price tag! Especially considering no meals are included. Let alone anything else included.

Oh my goodness! I was joking about going today, and told my husband it would probably be $400 plus getting there and then all the crap I would buy... $700 is just an awful lot of money !!

Having never been to something this expensive in the scrapping world, what exactly are you getting for $700? I understand it is for two days and there are make its/take its, but for that amount I would expect to take home all of the supplies I would use for those projects!

I got that email too.
I told my dh. He wanted to know if it included hotel/meals. It doesn't. Seriously....paper/stamps/instructors. Yes, I realize you'll get goodies. Will the goodies be what you want or need? I just can't imagine $700 plus transportation plus meals plus any shopping I do. My total would probably be $1300 or more.
I love the hobby. I really do, but not $700 for 2 days of working with paper/stamps.
Just think of what can be done with $700........whether or not you use if for stamps or something else.
Sorry....

I just don't see the value for the price. Seriously, that price is ridiculous for two days.

Didn't they in previous years, had more instructors like Tim Holtz and Jennifer McGuire?
If I was rich, maybe I can afford $699 for a weekend of "creating". Was it this much last year? Someone post on FB, that it usually sells out in hours but this year, after a couple of days, it still hasn't sold out. Someone else did comment that there may be more tickets this year though.

One year they had Tim, Jennifer, someone with crazy good Copic skills (but I don't remember who) and a 4th teacher (no clue what her/his area of expertise was). The price was the same. I would have signed up if it had not been for the fact our crafty weekend was the same date. And it sold out in a nanosecond.
Taking a class with Tim is on my bucket list.

Buy $700 in product and watch youtube My thoughts exactly. I can’t remember reading about any other classes that were that expensive, but other Peas may know of one. That is just a crazy amount of money.

Well Anna Griffin's was four days for $1550 with hotel (shared room - single surcharge was I think $300) and many meals included.
I would love to do one of those weekends someday - I just think it would be a fun little vacation. Unfortunately, it's a bit too costly for me right now.
Does anyone besides AG and SSS do these retreats? Maybe for less $$$?

I know Dina Wakely commands a fairly hefty price for weekends full of her classes at a LSS.
