We're having pumpkin pie and something chocolate. I've been assigned something chocolate. Was thinking a french silk pie from the local bakery, but they already stopped taking orders... darn! Don't want to do cookies. Any good tried and true recipies?? Nothing too complicated or involved!

I tried that crock pot chocolate thing -- what a mess! It tasted fine - especially with vanilla ice cream - but it was a really ugly serving and a PITA to clean up! And - after all that -- it was still "just chocolate cake".

Thanks for the warning. It sounds delicious, but not going to attempt it if it's a mess to serve.

I don't like to throw out cake.
Chocolate dessert - brownies! With frosting. I've used the salted caramel chips (found by the chocolate chips in the grocery). Put the caramel chips on top of the fresh from the oven brownies and they melt. Spread evenly after they melt. When the brownie cools, the chips cool too forming a firm but not crunchy salted caramel top.

I'm basically the spokesmodel for Pioneer Woman's French silk pie. It's AMAZING!! I can't tell you how many times I have made it. It's great with an oreo cookie crust so you don't even have to roll out a homemade pie crust. Do it!!

Yeah -- I was thinking of a chocolate cream pie. My aunt used to make the most incredible chocolate cream pie -- I think she made the pudding with brown sugar. Lawny -- it was like heaven! I'm not usually a fan of chocolate, but I do love a nice chocolate mousse -- and that is pretty easy to made!

You can get a Marie Callenders Chocolate Silk Pie in the frozen dessert section in the grocery store. It comes in a large version and individual version.
I am getting the individual size for my New Years Eve treat.

You can make it flourless and it only takes 15 minutes to bake.

I’m making ice cream cookie sandwiches in a variety of flavors. But that involves making cookies😬. We are leaving for vacation so we can’t have any leftovers so the extras will keep just fine for when we return.

Cherry cheesecake for Christmas Eve and Carrot cake layer cake or champagne raspberry layer cake for Christmas Day. And loads of cookies. Also a cherry pie and a chocolate oreo cake for the weekend after. I found a very cute oreo-lookalike silicone cake mold online.

I'm making hot cocoa dip and eggnog dip. The hot cocoa dip is on the nilla wafers box and probably on their website.

I do this with Andes mints. Oh, it's heavenly.

I'm making a very simple trifle with brownies, chocolate pudding (made with half and half so it's more dense/delicious) and cool whip. I haven't decided if I want to use Heath bar crumbles or Andes mints crumbles with it yet. It always goes over so well and it's been a while.

Why not just do a chocolate fondue? Melt chocolate and cream and a little bit of alochol( whiskey or brandy or liqueur) Use strawberries, marshmallows, vanilla biscuits, dried apricots, banana etc to dip Always a hit at my house!

I've always made the dessert myself, and DD was going to do it this year, but she's going to make the whole dinner instead. So I'm just going to go to M&M Market and get a yule log and some cheesecake bites.
