I took a cheese ball to a dinner last night. It was in a pottery dish that had been in the frig most of the day. It was sitting out for the dinner, but still stayed cold. I need to make the same cheese ball for Sunday. Can I add the old cheese ball to a new one?

Mixing and old and new cheese ball together sounds a little gross. I would make a fresh one.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the current cheeseball. Cheese is pretty hardy. So feed it to your family. But I would still make a new one for the next event, just because it doesn’t sound nice to roll the old cheese into the new cheese for a new event.

Why is there leftover cheese?! Who are these lame people who didn't eat all the delicious cheese? Unfriend them at once!
I agree with lucyg, though, and while the old cheese is fine, I'd eat it myself & make a new one for serving.

I don't think that means what you think it means, never do that with cheese! As far as I’ve noticed, frig is the American spelling for fridge. It’s not what we mean by frig! ETA what is a cheese ball anyway?

If I still worked for the caterers, they would have no qualms about throwing it in with new stuff.
I never would have brought it home.

ETA what is a cheese ball anyway? I’m an American and no! That is not how we spell fridge. Or not how it should be spelled. The full word is refrigerator, but the shortened version should be fridge. Regarding the cheese, no I would make a brand new cheeseball. Even if it had been two days, that grosses me out. And not from a food safety, it’s been sitting too long perspective. But a, I know people don’t use the cheese spreader and just dip straight in or contaminate the spreader with other appetizer flavors sort of situation.

As most others have already said, eat the leftover ball yourself and make a fresh one for Sunday. I'm a little bit skeeved out by the thought of combining old and new cheese to make a cheese ball. Not because I think it would be a risk, I just think it sounds gross. I don't think that means what you think it means, never do that with cheese! OMG haha right?!?! It always makes me chuckle when I see people here refer to a fridge as a "frig". And of course I always read it as "frig" rhymes with "big" then have to go back and re-read the sentence. Don't frig your cheese, people! (And now I'm singing Sex Pistols "Friggin in the Riggin" - coz there was f**k all else to do!)

I'm laughing at "I took a cheese ball to dinner last night." Sounds like a recap of a bad date.

Feed the leftovers to your family and make a new one to take to the next party. And I agree that there should never BE leftovers! I like those Wind & Willow cheese ball mixes, especially the white chocolate amaretto flavor. Serve it with those plain crispy dark chocolate wafer cookies... SWOON! I guarantee there will be no leftovers if you bring one of those!
