This is a great thread!
My grandson (10) is a rabid Minnesota Vikings football fan. I am a Green Bay Packer fan. So, every year I put Packer underwear in his Christmas stocking.
The first year was hysterical. He held them with 2 fingers, like they were toxic, and said "I'm not having these!!!"

Condoms. I buy them for the all of the cousins in college. A friend of mine told me her grandma gave condoms to all her grandchildren on their 15th birthday (age of consent in Denmark, where she lived). Grandma had gotten pregnant before her 16th birthday, believing 'you can't get pregnant the first time', so she made sure all her grandchildren knew better!

All the food related ones make me smile. My grandmother used to gift us Kraft Mac and Cheese, canned pears and peaches, and maraschino cherries- all foods we loved but our mother wouldn’t buy. It was hysterical at the time and clearly super memorable 25+ years later!

This thread has been pure pleasure to read while sipping my morning coffee. I laughed out loud a time or two!
I only regret that I have nothing to add. I feel like I've missed an opportunity here to inject some silliness in Christmas. I'm going to try to do better next year.

The weirdest gift I've bought this year is a box of mangoes for DS. Last year I bought him a mango cutting tool and a couple of mangoes, this year I upped the ante and bought a whole box. My only question is - do I wrap each mango individually, or do I just wrap the whole box? Of course, there is always the chance that I give it to him early, there are a few dishes that I want to make using mango. What's the weirdest gift you've bought or been given, either this year in in past years? Definitely wrap each one separately! lol I bought my ds a bag of individually packaged beef jerky, different flavors. I opened the larger bag and wrapped each small bag of jerky separately. hahaha

I haven't read the thread yet... but I guess my oddest is a pack of Korean-style sausages. I've seen them in Costco often but I've been afraid to buy them because I bet they're spicy. So I bought them for my ds who loves spicy things. He can tell me how they are and then I'll decide if I want to buy them to have at home when it's just me and dh, and I don't like spicy things. They're vacuum packed (or whatever it's called) and just on the regular shelf, to be refrigerated once you open them. I also bought ds two 8-packs of smoked oysters which he loves and eats as his lunch.

No need for grandbabies and nieces because they done have money or are embarrassed to shop.

My 3 youngest kids are getting DS22 an avocado. Apparently his favorite vine is of a little kid unwrapping an avocado for Christmas. My kids are weird.

What is it with boys and regular food? My answer was going to be a case Kraft Mac & Cheese in a cup for BFFs son because that’s what he wanted. He hoards it in his room. That, and soup. You’d think she doesn’t cook for them and he was starving. But she’s an absolutely amazing cook. At DH’s extended family Christmas tonight some of the happiest faces were for Nutella and the biggest can of baked beans I have ever seen. Baked beans! Good friends of ours have stepped in to be DD’s adopted grandparents. For the last several occasions, they have given her a giant Costco sized jar of baby pickles. She got one wrapped up with her Christmas present last year, another in her Easter basket, one for her birthday, another in her Halloween treat bag! I will be *very* surprised if there isn’t one with her Christmas gift this year. I don’t think we’ve bought a regular jar of pickles all year!

Cricket flour for my mom. Yes, she asked for it. Yes, I'll probably have to try cricket flour cookies in the future.

I used to be so happy to get my own jar of green olives in my stocking because I was always getting in trouble for eating all the olives out of the relish dish.
Weird gifts from me? My husband is getting a repro 12th century gambeson, shoes and helmet with maille. DS1 is getting a repro 12th century sword. Not weird is you are into that, haha!
I sent DS2 a NYC Adult Lego set. It was easy to pack and ship.

Jingle Cats Sing Meow of Christmas VHS tape for DS. He’s 23 and has asked for this video for three years. It was $50 two years ago, went down to $30 last year, and finally was only $15 this year. He want to frame it in a shadow box. Here’s the description from Amazon: ‘Sing Meow of Christmas’ is a start studded performance featuring all nine of the original, world famous Jingle Cats® - Max, Cheesepuff, Sprikenz, Binky, Clarise, Peturnia, Graymer, Cueball, and Twizzler. Best known for their smash hit Christmas albums “Meowy Christmas®” and “Here Comes Santa Claws™,” these real kittens sing holiday classics in this hilarious mewsical Christmas video. Seen on TV and heard on radio worldwide, these international superstars bring a delightful and joyous spirit to the holidays. You’ll roar with laughter this holiday season with this whimsical and heartwarming exhibition of unique talent. I have those two CDs! DH decreed that he can listen to them only once a year. Ha!

Youngest DS is getting a pair of socks custom printed with our (his) cat's face on them. Unfortunately they haven't arrived yet, but he'll love them when they get here. I ordered some of these for my son-in-law after seeing comments on 2Peas. They are not shipping until after Christmas - I don't even have a shipping date yet!

DH is getting, among other things, 20 pouches of tuna and a big bottle of shampoo. I bought my dad several packs of the individual tuna and crackers Hmmm, weirdest I guess would be the drain snake or the drain traps for dh. Dds hair clogs just cost us $900 for a visit from the plumber!

Toenail clippers that catch the clippings. So gross! I will blame it on Santa because it is a stocking stuffer.
