I think Amazon has some really good kindle book deals today. I just purchased The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell for $2.99. It has received great reviews on the weekly book thread. I also purchased Grant by Ron Chernow for $2.99. It is an autobiography of Ulysses S. Grant, written by the same author who wrote the autobiography of Alexander Hamilton which inspired the musical Hamilton. I haven't read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, so I purchased it for only $1.99. There are several other books which look good as well. link

A Discovery of Witches is on sale for $1.99 today, too. I was going to buy it, but Amazon says I bought it back in 2012. Apparently I never read it and it is currently lost somewhere in the bowels of my Kindle library.

Autobiographies are written by the subjects themselves. DH says thanks for the tip!

I checked it out and ended up ordering The Life Changing Magic of Cleaning up for $2.99. I have been working on getting rid of clothes and now it's time to get rid of a bunch of other things. I need the inspiration.

Thanks, I found several thrillers that looked great for under $2! I checked it out and ended up ordering The Life Changing Magic of Cleaning up for $2.99. I have been working on getting rid of clothes and now it's time to get rid of a bunch of other things. I need the inspiration. If you’re looking for inspiration in this area, I also recommend It’s All Too Much by Peter Walsh. I am an organization and declutter junkie and this is by far my favorite book on the subject. I’ve read so many books and articles but this one really resonated with me. I made copious notes in the margins and go back to reread it any time I need encouragement or I find myself holding on to things. Also? It motivated my DH to declutter and changed the way he looked at it, which is practically a miracle.

I am not a junkie in this area (whuch you’d know if you saw my house), but I find Peter’s book very motivating and pull it out from time to time. I like how he approaches the topic of decluttering. If you ever watched the show Clean Sweep, you may remember him as the organizational expert. He’s also been on Oprah a few times.

Made me want to rent some tents and empty my house onto tarps outside. It’s funny because that’s how I have cleaned/organized my entire life. I remember Saturday mornings being sent to my room to clean and emptying every drawer and my closet into the middle of my room. Then cleaning every surface before I reorganized and put things back. Mom was not pleased.

I loved that show! Made me want to rent some tents and empty my house onto tarps outside. I actually tried to do that. Tried and failed. This is not a good plan when you live in the semi-tropical area of Texas, where the weather is nearly always too hot, too wet, or too windy, the ground is often flooded or super-saturated, and there is no mosquito-less season. I'd pull stuff out and then have to make a mad dash to get everything back inside before it was ruined. Somewhere inside me though, I still hold on to the fantasy.

I’m outside of SA but January and February might work for me. But no way would I attempt it without a lot of able bodied helpers! What is working for us now is using an empty room and lots of long tables (bad back) with boxes and laundry baskets. That way we have plenty of room to gather everything we want to sort through, and things don’t have to be put up at the end of the day. We are currently doing our clothes.

Sam Hell was a good read. Robert Dugoni is one of my favorite authors. This is not at all like his other book series, Tracy Crosswhite or David Slone.
Ready Player One was enjoyable, especially if you grew up in the Atari video game era.
I did pick up Grant (1097 pages!)and World Without End (1030 pages!). If you need me I'll be reading!
