There was a thread here not long ago about some 'flu bomb' that people take when they are sick. I have tried searching for it, and I thought I had it saved, but no luck on either of those. Can someone link it for me or tell me what the recipe is?
Thanks!

ooooh? Maybe? I didn't pay much attention to it when it was posted (I wasn't sick then!) and all I remembered was seeing the thread was about a flu bomb. Thanks for your help!

Following that recipe from the old thread, I make something similar at home and, touch wood, have not been ill for months. With small grandkids coming home with every cold virus under the sun, I usually spend a lot of time suffering through autumn and winter but this stuff seems to work! I shall definitely keep taking it at the first signs of anything and the proof of the pudding will be if I get through this winter relatively well. My DIL is a convert too.

Pretty much gar. Following the old thread I googled Starbucks cold remedy and got the recipe. I don’t know if we can get all the exact ingredients over here so I use Taylor’s Rose Lemonade Infusion, Taylor’s white hibiscus and peach green tea and Teapigs peppermint leaves. All 3 bags go in a mug of boiling water for about 4 minutes, remove the bags and stir in two teaspoons of runny honey. Drink as hot as possible. I take it at the first sign of a tickley nose or dry throat and it eases within a couple of hours and I’m ok the next day. I would take it maybe 4 times on the first day. I can’t bear honey in drinks but this is ok. As I say, DIL is a convert and DH has tried it too and found it not bad. Fingers crossed this is not a flash in the pan!

I actually really like the drink, however I went and got the ingredients to make at home since they actually sell it at SB now and they charge a pretty penny. I ordered it step by step and was charged under $2 the first time, then they said "oh, it's a Medicine Ball" and started charging me well over $4 if ordered by name. /eyeroll

I might buy the first one so I know what it should taste like. But if it works, I will get the stuff to make my own.

I think I may have started the last thread. I bought the ingredients at Walmart and it tasted good. I am going to make some now, since I am coming down with a cold. Thanks for the reminder!

I’ve always been a huge fan of echinacea and, like you, took it as soon as I registered that I felt like a cold might be brewing and it was knocked on the head in 24 hours but for whatever reason it just hasn’t worked this winter. I’ve had more colds this winter than I have in the last decade!

Don't forget the Cold-eeze. The triple berry has a disgusting taste, to me and my Mama, but the others are good.

They don't offer the coldbuster, at least in my area anymore - it has to do with not having the peach tea anymore, which was made by Teavana. However if you are out and about and don't want to make it yourself, Starbucks offers a similar drink now, the Citrus Defender. We usually make a similar drink at home but every once in a while I like to get it at Starbucks with a couple of pumps of peppermint. Feel better.

I've been fever free for days but cannot get rid of this stuffy nose.

I'm not a big mint fan, so I get the Passion Coldbuster. I had to show them the recipe at my little local SB store ( I did a screen shot on my phone ). Thanks mom for posting this thread. I totally forgot about the Coldbuster. I feel the tickle in my nose and throat so I'll stop later today and get one. ETA: Link to recipe. Passion Coldbuster

I wasn't too crazy about the mint either but am willing to try anything. But the Passion Tango tea? That sounds delish! Will probably go get one of each if I can get them to make them!
