I've been watching the Netflix series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries I love this show! it's a weekly series on PBS, and I record it. I also record a couple other PBS mystery series: Dr. Blake (set in Australia in the 1950s; the main character is a police surgeon), and Father Brown (set in England in the 1950s; main character is a Catholic priest- and is the actor who played Mr. Weasley in the Harry Potter movies). I've never read any of the Phryne Fisher mystery novels, but watching the show makes me want to pick one of them up.

Bird Box Peppermint Predator (the original) The Predator (2018) Slumdog Millionaire (my first time seeing it...loved it!)
And probably a bunch of random B movies running in the background while I played Candy Crush because DH had control of the remote. 😜

We watched Dumplin, the Miracle Season, and Crazy Rich Asians. I cried alot yesterday lol! We still have Eight Grade to watch today and I plan to make another trip to Red Box for more. I watched Dumplin yesterday. Yep, its definitely a movie that will make you cry but it’s so good. I did read it’s very different than the book so just be aware. i also watched Book Club. It didn’t have a very good rating on Netflix but I liked it. I also watched Book Club. It got such bad reviews that I didn't think I'd like it but I really did. It was fluff but totally entertaining.

I watched Peppermint too; thought it was meh.
Last night I watched Life Itself and almost turned it off maybe 30 minutes in, but then it got really good. I ended up loving it.

We Watched "Drunken Fist: The legend of Beggar So" and "Venom". Enjoyed both, but I'm looking forward to something girly. I'm getting together with a couple friends tomorrow and we're going to watch Dumplin.

We also rented and watched the latest Mission Impossible installment. The cheese factor in it was QUITE high: requisite motorcycle chase, car chase, foot chase, helicopter chase, and bonus- Tom Cruise also had to do some free climbing!! it was MILDLY entertaining, but quite laughable in my opinion. I did want to see Book Club; maybe now that DH is back out on the road I'll see that one (so I won't have to hear any 'chick flick' comments, lol).

I marathoned the Miss Fisher one and am so sad it's over.
There is apparently a Phryne Fisher movie coming out - not sure when, though.

we watched Edge of Darkness on HBO, a 2010 movie starring Mel Gibson. It was better than I thought it would be (I don't particularly like him as an actor); it was a political-type thriller with a very convoluted story line. We were originally going to re-watch Dr. Strange; we may watch that one tonight. I kind of want to watch The Greatest Showman again, but I'm not sure I want to put us both through that (because I don't want to listen to my DH complain about the fact that it's a musical, lol). I'll probably wait till the next time he's out on the road to re-watch that one. How was Blockers? it looked like it could be *kind* of funny. I saw the last 2/3 of it on New Year's Eve. It is my kind of funny. I love John Cena and Lesley Mann. No one can do a boofing scene like John Cena. I am also at the maturity level of about 15 year old boy, so there is that.

I've never read any of the Phryne Fisher mystery novels, but watching the show makes me want to pick one of them up. Then you'll be pleased to know there's a new version coming out this year:-
"Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries is an Australian television drama series which will screen in 2019. The series of four telemovies is a spin-off from the drama series Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, which was based on the on author Kerry Greenwood's series of Phryne Fisher detective novels.
Set in Melbourne in the 1960s, Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries revolves around the personal and professional life of Peregrine Fisher, who inherits a fortune when the famous aunt she never knew goes missing over the highlands of New Guinea. Peregrine sets out to become a world-class private detective in her own right, guided by a group of exceptional women in The Adventuresses' Club, of which her aunt was also a member"
They've been showing the ads here already (although not when it will start so it might still be a few months) and it looks OK, seems to be keeping with the other show except this one has a "mod" 60s theme instead of 1920s.
The bad news, the Dr Blake lead actor, Craig McLachlan, has accused of indecent assault, sexual harassment and bullying, and has been fired from the show. The show also ended it's run on the station it was on and moved to a new one, but is going to continue. "The show will now centre around Dr Blake's housekeeper and love interest Jean Beazley. It is expected Dr Blake's absence will form the backbone of the show's new storyline. Screen Australia has confirmed the series will be rebranded as The Blake Mysteries. The new, 90-minute telemovie will be set three years after the events of season five."

Blockers - Really enjoyed it and laughed a lot. Dumpling - It was okay. Bird Box - It kept my interest but the ending! I need an explanation and closure.
Off to search Netflix for something else to watch now.

I'm a huge Survivor fan and have watched every single episode and season since it first started. But I never re-watched any of them until this past week when I discovered all of the Survivor seasons on Hulu. And I have been gorging myself on them.
So far I have watched: Season 19-Samoa Season 13-Cook Islands Season 14-Fiji
I just finished Fiji last night and need a break. I checked over the movies on Hulu and found one that looks really interesting and good called "The German Doctor". I'll be giving it a try tonight.
