For those of us boring peas who stay home on NYE ... what are you drinking? We made a pre-dinner cocktail with bourbon, lemon juice, a little real maple syrup and some ginger beer. Delish! DH also picked out a nice red wine for us to have with dinner.
What are you drinking, peas?

Nothing. I could, perhaps I should. Dh and yds are away, ods is at a party, the dog doesn't care if I drink But I have this irrational fear that ds will call me with some sort of emergency and I won't be able to drive. It's never happened and there's no logical reason it would (he's at a party with his girlfriend and a friend at some other girl's house.....they're all staying the night there [hold me, I'm not ready for this]) but what if......

We almost always stay in on NYE, though sometimes we are up the coast.
Today I've been cooking all afternoon - but surprisingly have not had a pre-dinner cocktail! Later I'll drink some sauvignon blank. I hope I don't drink much because I want to go for a new year's day run in the morning....

Beer to start and maybe a couple of glasses of with dinner. My step-dad got some craft beers for Christmas that he doesn’t want so his loss is my NYE party.

Coke and rum, but cherry Coke with kraken rum. DH just opened a bottle of barrel aged imperial stout that I got him for his birthday earlier this year.

I also often have that fear how old is your son? once my kids start going out to parties etc I always make sure they have the Lyft app on their phone so they are never stuck. Technically I think Lyft isn't supposed to drive them around until they are 18 but most drivers around here at least will pick up younger kids.

As soon as our great grandsons go home(anytime now) I'm having amaretto sours and shrimp cocktail! Maybe with my husband, maybe not. He's grumpy so part of me is hoping he just goes to bed! Lol!

We live in the country so no lyft/uber around here. He has a car but left it here and rode with his girlfriend.

I just dropped dd off at a friends house, they are pre partying there, going out then having a sleep over back at the one girls house. DS is at his friends house with a group of guys celebrating New Years eve and one of his buddies 16th birthday. It is also a sleepover. So I am having a vodka paralyzer. DH is drinking rum and coke.

Sipping homemade limoncello. My friend gave me a bottle for Christmas. I have to remember that I’m sipping vodka. 🍋🤗

Some nice rose wine in my dear Mom's Crystal - she passed last year on Jan. 2 and I thought I'd toast the New Year in her memory.

Red wine also. The end of the Chianti that my brother got us for Christmas, and the beginning of a VERY nice bottle called Chocolate Block which really does taste like chocolate. But I've had more than I'm used to - I hope I'm able to function tomorrow, because we have Christmas #2 with MIL and FIL...
HNY and enjoy your lovely wine!

I'm not sure yet. I'm thinking a bourbon punch. My boss sent me a fancy bottle of champagne so we decided to celebrate where we've been and where we're heading with Dom Perignon and the champagne of beers at midnight! DS just asked for Italian Margaritas. I could be persuaded.

Just ice water for me. If I had alcohol I would have fallen asleep already. As it is I’m headed to bed now!

I made some of those white chocolate dipped, alcohol infused cherry bombs for a tailgate this fall, and I kept the jars of alcohol I used for soaking the cherries. I am now drinking orange juice mixed with the maraschino cherry/vanilla vodka mixture. It is delicious! I’m going to start making these with just the alcohol and orange juice and adding a tablespoon of cherry juice since I won’t be making the cherry bombs again for a while.

I’m drinking a nice Pinot Noir my brother got me for my birthday. DH doesn’t drink, so I’ll need to have it over the next couple of days. A hardship. Haha
