Happy new year everyone. Ahh new year, fresh starts.
I took advantage of some sales I got a lot of stuff coming in.
My simon order from October finally made its way to me. My lawn Fawn order from a scrappy store on the west coast I will need to place a PayPal compliant and start the process of getting a refund.
Over the Christmas break I had great intentions of cleaning my scrappy space. Didn't happen.
Art journal class is this coming Sunday. It's a canvas class. So I need to do some prep work before hand.

Happy New Year!! After taking a break in December, I am anxious to jump back into scrapbooking. My DH bought me a new computer for Christmas and I've spent most of the day getting it set up and moving files & pictures. I am using this as an opportunity to completely organize all my pictures...hopefully I'll be done by the weekend.

I finished my December album today. It’s not a daily but more documented. I’d never done one before and am pleased with it. I ended it with today because it’s our anniversary ❤️ I meant to clean my area when I finished but that didn’t happen. It looks like Christmas threw up all over the place!

I started a layout. First one in a long time. I'm second guessing everything, and it's taking forever, but I'm enjoying myself

I scrapped 3 8x8 gift albums for family, and made 6 4x4 plaques for friends for Cmas. I am really looking forward to scrapping some things for myself! I may do some this week, but the main event comes at the end of February when my friend and I go to the Scrapbook Expo. I can't wait!
I will also spend time cleaning up/organizing my scrap and storage/computer room, and donating a LOT of scrappy stuff I will never use.

I’m looking forward to doing ANYTHING that’s not Christmas related! I spent months working on Christmas cards, then making some gift tags and I still have my 2018 Christmas layout looming... today I spent the better part of the day working on a card for DD’s 25th birthday on Thursday... just been so busy that I think I’m looking forward to not feeling the pressure of having to make anything specific!

I finished up my USA family holiday album yesterday We took the trip dec/jan 17/18 so I was glad to finish while I could still remember what we did!! I used pinkfresh studio supplies-Case of the Blahs, boys fort and ,escape the ordinary-and have used most of what I purchased specifically for this so I am happy. I am MIGHTY sick of the supplies though! I think I will toss the remaining few stickers and diecuts I have

my table is full of photo boxes so I have not scrapped for some time. I did start my heritage challenge at scrapbook.com a couple days ago. I am not sure what I am going to work on either. I was wanting to work on 1 thing but I needed o change my mind cause it would be hard for me tto actually find the photo I was thinking about.

I’m working on a very long journal entry for my son’s baby scrapbook and... well I can tell it has been a long time since I have written anything lengthy by hand because holy hand cramp! I’m checking this forum between pages to give my hand a break lol. I don’t particularly enjoy/do journaling but I wanted this one done.

I’m committing to catching up on Project Life. I saw a video that had an excellent idea. Every week, in addition to working on that week for 2019, I’m going to go back and finish any gaps for the same week in previous years. This makes it seem actually doable.
So, today, I’m going to go back and figure out what years have incomplete Week 1 and start working to get them completed.

I'm done up to day 20 in my DD where I promptly ran out of photos and ink. So I placed an online order to finish up my DD and do a major 2 month catch up on PL. The only link is I have a tiny 2ft x 1ft table to work on. Most of my supplies are packed up and not accessible, neither is my desk. Project switching rooms isn't going as quick as I would like but progress is progress. I'm hoping to have a move date for Sunday (fingers crossed)

My husband and I recently relocated. We were in our last home 27 years. I have tons of scrap supplies. Everything held higher priority when we moved and I basically tossed everything in my new scraproom. So, I spent THREE days reorganizing my new room. I further purged stuff and got two boxes of donations in the back of my car. Fresh starts all around!

I managed to make it to the LSS that is going out of business near my mom's house. She had 25% off so I spent $60. Everything is still in the bag.
I have almost all of my December photos either printed or in the cart to order. I think I am missing a few so I need to look over everything and make sure before I order. My first crop of the year is next weekend.

Great to see so many of you creating so early in the year!
I arrived home yesterday evening with a 4" stack of photos printed from December. Put one page together today using one photo. This could take a long time...
Getting back into scrapping after a break of only a few weeks makes every move sluggish; seems like I needed to think about absolutely every little thing I added to the page. And since no Christmas elves showed up while I was gone and put everything away from on top of my counters (and my Swiss cheese memory can't recall where last I used that particular item), I also had to spend quite a bit of time searching for stuff.
I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket, and I just ordered a custom made storage cabinet for my wafer thin dies from Treasured Memories in Edmonton today. They were closed for New Years' Day, or I might have stopped there yesterday. Technically I still HAVE the money in my wallet, b/c I paid for my purchase with my credit card today, right???

I'm still in the thick of making my Christmas album but it's going faster now. I got bogged down with the photo part, but once I figured out how to organize, edit and print them things went faster. And I'm starting to get on a roll. All of my hours watching Shimelle scrapbook seem to be paying off - I don't scrap the way she does, but I'm finding that lots of her techniques and ideas are coming to me as I work (like splitting a smaller piece and tucking above and below the photo to make it look like a longer strip) which feels good.
And I'm actually running out of supplies, which is awesome! I'm pretty sure I'm going to toss or give away the leftovers when I'm done this year. No hoarding. I'm ready to start fresh.
Actually I think I'm going to switch to digital projects going forward. I'm keeping an app based journal which suits my need for detailed memory keeping (and it's taggable and searchable!) and I'm looking at doing a photobook of stories - something like a 52 stories project, or a casual weekly digi PL, or something similar.
But I've decided for sure that any future Christmas albums I do will be digital, printed as photobooks. I struggle with my dark house, short days, and the clutter this time of year, plus I get really frustrated when I get stuck at casual family gatherings where I have nothing to do (hours of TV/sports watching and iPad gaming, not much quality time). I figure I can get a lot of creating done if I go digital, and my style is pretty minimal and simple anyway. I get my pretty paper/hand crafting fix from cardmaking.

I signed up to a scrappy yardsale at the end of the month. I have some stuff left from the yardsale I did at my LSS but was limited on space so other items I didn't take will try to sell this time. This time though I get a 6ft table. My punches (except for basics) are going. I don't use them, all those must have Martha punches, might as well go to a good home. Plus the proceeds from yardsale will make a great down payment for CHA stuff!!

I am visiting my parents in Washington State and my mom and I visited Artco this afternoon. I was hoping to see some newer collections but I walked away with only a pack of Thickers and five sheets of paper.

Actually I think I'm going to switch to digital projects going forward. I just don't think I could do this, even tho it makes so much sense. 1. The buying, the paper, the physical product, it gives me so much joy. 2. I hate sitting at the computer - even when I'm doing an "enjoyable" project I find that constant position uncomfortable. And I don't CHANGE position as often as I do when I'm physically scrapping, I "push through", "just one more"... 3. I also think I would never get pages printed, which would mean that my family never saw them. 4. I hate paying money for digital product (I'm a product of the 80s myself so wasn't brought up on downloadable content!) even though I know it's worth it...

I hear ya, kitbop. Although I love seeing digi projects, I don’t think I would enjoy creating them, for all the reasons you mention. Plus a couple more: I am not very good at using programs like photoshop. And i can never get the printout of something I have tried to design digitally to look right for colour. And I live in fear of computer crashes and obsolescence of programs and system failures. A random project I am hoping to at least get started on this month is to scrap 4 canvasses with pic’s of our family vacation in Florida, one for each of our kid’s homes. Printed the photos yesterday. Need to start collecting supplies...

I make year in review photo books for our parents, but otherwise, no digital for me. I love playing with physical products.
I do see the advantage in storing smaller books, though.

I did a layout yesterday, then I made 4 Christmas cards. I am hoping to participate in the card swap for 2019. I plan to make a few cards after each layout.

I will share pictures on Monday for sure. I'm really happy with how it's looking so far.

I finally got a shipping notice on my photos, they should arrive after I go back to work 🙄 But things are moving along with the room move. My stuff is out and we have a plan to move DHs stuff on the weekend. I've been going through some of my stuff and purging what I don't want/use and have at least 2 boxes full. I threw out 3 SU! red ink pads that had the gold sheen of death, purged some stamp sets and came across ones that I haven't seen in years but still love. Got 3 boxes of craft stuff to donate to the local schools and a bunch of cardstock that I will bring to my library for the Makerspace. It's a win win.
