One kid has a 3 week break and one kid has a month off. Go figure.

The colleges/universities around here mostly are a 4 week break.
I only know do 1 that has a 6 week break. But that school has a winter term, of a 4 week block they offer. Most students take something fun to fill an elective. And many take it pass/fail. When I was there, I took Creative Writing during that term. Great way to squeeze in a few credits to ease up a regular semester.

The official schedule for ds had the break starting Dec 14 (he was done on the 11th) and they go back a week from Monday, which I think is January 14. Everyone else goes back January 7. Ds' school changed its schedule last year and everyone from professors to students hates it

Too short. Classes begin the 7th. Thought I had another week.
Part of the problem was the final was the last day possible.

My community college had 3 weeks while DS’s state university has 4. We both start back on Monday, but he got off a week earlier than I did. I was on quarters in college and, if memory serves, was off from 1st week of December through 3rd week of January.

Dd3 is on the semester system and has exactly three weeks. She got a week for thanksgiving and gets a week for spring. Summer is long - like 15 weeks.

Several colleges here have a mini term in January that's meant for students to do study abroad or do an independent study. Most do, but it's not required, so if they don't then they would end up with a 6 week break.

DS is on the semester schedule and he got 3 days at Thanksgiving (W-F) and a whole week in Spring. Christmas is a full 6 weeks. They also get 2 days (F & M) for Easter.

We have one left in college (whew!) and he'll go back Jan. 7, for a total of four weeks off. DH and I went to the same college and that's how long our breaks were too.
