I like the flex edge paddle for mixing cake, then you can detach the paddle and use it to scrape out the bowl instead of dirtying a spatula.

I just got the grater/slicer attachment, and I love it. I really hate grating cheese by hand, and would get out my food processor just for that. The KA attachment is so much easier to clean. I got my niece the ice cream set for Christmas. She was so excited! I used my grater set for the first time last night. I made scalloped potatoes. It only took me about 10 minutes or less to slice the potatoes and grate a pound of cheddar. The potatoes sliced nice thin. It sliced them thin enough that I am going to try making homemade potato chips next.
Sort of related...I really want this now! My red KA sits on my kitchen counter as it gets used several times a week, and this bowl would look so pretty. But wow, $177 for a bowl?? I won't be purchasing that!

Beautiful bowl but sooo not useful in my kitchen! I am all about the stainless. You can drop that accidentally (I'm accident prone and the 7 year old kiddo uses my mixer) and it doesn't shatter.

Ooh I need the grater! I've kept an old food processor because my new one doesn't have a grater attachment and I'm not grating carrots by hand for carrot cake. This would be way smaller and a good price for a wish list item. Thanks for the idea!

I don't have little kids at home any more, and I have never dropped my stainless bowl. But, I am pretty sure that the minute I spend $177 on a bowl, I WILL drop it. LOL It's just soooo pretty. But why oh why is it so much money? It's a glass bowl.

But I rarely make it because I don't have the stamina to grate all those carrots. I was already thinking that yay, now I can make carrot cake more often! (Not sure if that is really a good thing or not!)

I have the silicone edge scraper, and I got the slicer/shredder but I admit I don't really use it. I had a glass bowl but it broke.
I love the idea of the smaller bowl (like someone suggested for whipping cream) if it fits with my Artisan.
Toying with the idea of the spiralizer - we have a handheld one, but DD12 is really into zucchini noodles so it may be worth it.
We use our cuisinart ice cream maker, it works great, don't want to spend money to get the ice cream attachment.

I bought that bowl because I could not get the hobnail bowl I really wanted.
It is beautiful! I am shocked by the price. I paid $99 Cdn for it from the Bay. It almost never happens that something is cheaper in Canada!

AND when I needed to chill something in the refrigerator. For a long time, it was the only bowl with a lid until I got silicone covers that worked and then finally the actual lid that fits, loosely but fits.
I LOVE the newer version shredder/slicer, I use it at least every other week if not more. I have an Artisan and two small bowls, love that they nest inside the bigger bowl and all the beaters work well with it.
The ONLY reason I don't have the ice cream maker attachment is that I have a Cuisinart ice cream maker with two bowls long before I got the grape purple KA mixer!

I got the shredder/slicer attachment. I don’t love it and forgot I had it. Do you have the white one that only shreds and slices, no grinder? What don't you like about it. Maybe we can make you love it!
I use it all the time to shred cheddar and mozzarella cheese, carrots and zucchini. I don't like preshredded cheese, don't like that most are not finely shredded and I don't like the corn starch or whatever is used to keep it from sticking together, changes the taste a little. But MAINLY, because the GOOD cheese doesn't come shredded! And it is cheaper to buy the block of cheese.

I used it for carrots and zucchini I think and it was more like mush IIRC. Do I need to press more firmly? Do you freeze the cheese before shredding or don’t need to?

On the cheese, freeze AFTER shredding!!! If you freeze the cheese first, thaw and shred, my experience has been it will always crumble. I don't open the cheese until I'm ready to shred it. Shred it all, most goes directly into a Tupperware container (not Rubbermaid) and I fill a quart freezer bag, get all the air out before I zip it up and date it! So you make sure one doesn't stay in the freezer forever! We can't always eat the whole big block of cheddar before it starts turning green. I love doing it this way because when I suddenly run out, still have some in the freezer and know it is time to buy another block!
On mozzarella, sometimes we are on a pizza kick and sometimes we aren't! I always keep it in quart freezer bags in the freezer along with a big bag of frozen pepperoni and other favorite toppings. I use my dough hook and KA and make some pizza dough, let it rise, punch down then roll out.
I usually make several small personal size pizza crusts, throw them into our clam shell pizza cooker for a minute or two until the dough cooks a little and starts rising. Take it out, throw another on. Just stack them up together. Put toppings on the ones we are eating now and put the others in a large zipper lock bag and put in the freezer for later. Or refrigerator if we will use them within a few days.
They thaw really quick, love coming home from work, sometimes even at lunch, throw a pizza together and be eating in minutes! Pizza cooker is much faster than the oven and doesn't heat the house up in the summer. And, we like the way the crust turns out in it.

We have... Ice cream attachment Pasta rollers Sausage grinder/stuffer Grain mill All are awesome and easy to clean. The ice cream one lives in the freezer. How is the grain mill? What have you ground? Can you control coarseness?

He uses it to grind stuff for brewing too.

I *had* the spatula sided scrapper mixer attachment until this past fall when it started to ooze slimey gooey sticky stuff from under the rubber.
I am not the only one this has happened to either. So be careful!!!
I only hand wash my items and never soak them, so it wasn't trapped moisture.
Had an oily consistency to it.
I washed it and it came back. So into the trash it went

Oh and for the cheese, I place my cheddar and monterey into the freezer for a bit just like I do if I was to hand grate it. You will have a thin slice or two of cheese left but I just eat them right then and there.

Gamechanger!!!
I got the pouring shield in for my mixer. This thing is amazing! I can add things to the mixing while it going at a good speed and the stuff just goes straight in and mixing with no stopping and restarting or stuff flying everywhere! I love that flange/shoot thing on one side that lets you just funnel stuff end!!!!! This with the flexible edge beater makes it perfect!

I wonder why I didn't like my shredder/grater set, you guys all like yours? I got it off QVC and first time I tried using it in December for the carrot cake carrots it struggled to grate them properly so I returned the set. My old Cuisinart shreds so perfectly that to me the KA attachment wasn't worth keeping, so back it went.
I do have the juicer attachment and it's great and useful. I am always getting bags of lemons from neighbors so I just do a juicing session all at once and freeze in ice cube trays. I love having cubes of frozen lemon juice handy to thaw for when I cook and bake.
For Christmas DD bought me the new sifter/weigh attachment. I have used it twice and I liked using it. I really hate sifting so this makes it easy, just dump into the top and let it sift away into the bowl. Nice!
Ditto on the extra bowl and rubber spatula paddle.

The link you provided takes me to an Amazon page where it costs $94.95 with free shipping. Nowhere close to $177.

I have zero patience for sifting so I measure the flour/sugar/cocoa powder/ whatever into a bowl and run a hand whisk around through it. Instantly sifted. No mess. No tool that’s a PITA to clean. I haven’t had a single issue with anything having clumps since I started doing it this way.
