This has been in our news and they have been polling people to see if they found it offensive. How do you weigh in? Keene is the name of the town that it is in. ETA - I think Hanoi Bar is the name of the business but I can't figure out how to edit my poll

Not offensive but also not funny if that's what they were going for.

I don't find it offensive, but I do find it dumb to stoop so low for sales.

Right next to pho-king Thai.
The owners know exactly what they are doing.

I love it. People are way to easily offended. And I love any joint that serves a great bowl of pho.

Kind of bold. I don’t like it. Reminds me of that movie where business names got more and more dumb with time (was a reflection of people in general). Was the movie titled idiocracy? Something like that.

I think it's stooooopid. As opposed to just stupid I'm not easily offended so it's a no on that front.

I don't get it. Why is it supposed to be funny? Pho Keene (F@*&^%G). I think that a lot of people don't find it funny. I'm on the fence, I have to admit it made me smile a bit when I read it.

We have Pho King here.
It’s been a business with a big sign for years and no one has complained 🙄which makes me eyeroll at this story because Pho King sounds more like fucking than Pho Keene does.

Sounds like a bad joke you would tell in 1973, not a name you'd give your business in 2019. Sorry. I think it's a bad idea and if I was asian-american, yes, I would be offended.

There are so many pho places that have names that purposely sound like fucking. I don't care.

I voted other. I would select “meh” if it were an option. It wouldn’t steer me away if I wanted to check out a take out Asian food place but I wouldn’t search it out because of its cleverness either.

Offensive, no. In poor taste, yes. For me to put this in the “offensive” class would IMO diminish the insult of other far worse “offensive” things if that makes any sense 🤔

Ha! Not offensive and it made me laugh.
One of the places I go regularly for Pho is called "Mo Pho"
However if you pronounce "pho" correctly, it's FUR not F-OH

So, everyone that I know pronounces Pho as FUH (FUnny). Those that typed “fa”, is that FAH, as in FAther?

I'm glad someone explained.lol I'd pronounce it fa-keen. To my ear,maybe because I have an accent, I didn't hear f%*king.
At any rate I'd say not offensive. A bit stupid tho.

OKC has many pho restaurants, one of which is named Pho Kim Long. I don't think there is a significant crossover between the people who know how to pronounce pho and the people who get mad about the F word around here.

There are so many Pho King restaurants in this country. I’m gonna guess the people who are “offended” have never even had pho and have no idea how to pronounce it.

Really! You don't think Vietnamese people now how to say the name of the food they serve in their country correctly?
Another Pho restaurant I go to (Pho Nom), have a mural painted on the wall that says "It's FUR not FOE"
I found a picture of it online:
So if the Vietnamese people who run a Vietnamese restaurant serve a Vietnamese dish and have on the wall it's pronounced "fur" then that's what I'm going to believe.

But my friend from Laos says phah My Japanese friend says fah And my Vietnamese friend said it is pronounced phoe
I think that some places want people to think it is fa so so they can name their restaurants , pho king Thai or pho Keene

I wasn't paying attention to the words and thought the uproar was over the Asian character with rice hat and chopsticks. Pho is pronounced "fuh" not "fa".

When I close my eyes and listen to what she says it's closer to "fur"
