I already have HuluLive, Prime, and then a digital antenna and I really don't want yet another monthly subscription. Especially because I'm playing with spotify right now too. If I can feel more comfortable with it, I'll likely add that to my subscriptions as well.
I've never done the Netflix thing, so I think I can get a month free or deeply discounted. I'd really like to watch the Marie Kondo series (I love organization). Can I subscribe for a month, then let go of the membership, then maybe resubscribe for month later on down the road, then let it go again, then subscribe again? And so on and so forth. Or will they say no?

Yes you can subscribe and unsubscribe as many times as you want but the free 1 month promotion is only good one time. Jen

Perfect, thank you!
So then the next question for you all is....other than Marie Kondo, Grace and Frankie, what else would I want to binge?
Don't like scary, bloody, or super suspenseful things. Also, no on Sci-Fi or fantasy. Thanks girls!

Watch as many Disney movies as you can. They’re going to start their own streaming service.

I’m currently watching “The Kominsky Method” and I like it. There really is quite a lot to watch on Netflix.

We watch more Netflix than any of the other services. I've had Prime and the quantity of shows available is far far lower than Netflix. We added Hulu last year which is convenient for ABC shows that I can't watch on their site for several days after airing like you can NBC and other networks. We've watched a few other things only on Hulu such as UnReal. Currently I'm also watching The Resident.
But Netflix? the list is endless. Some favorites are White Collar, Queer Eye (the new version which is Netflix Original), House of Cards (Netflix original), The Fosters, Switched at Birth, Grand Designs, British Baking Show, Death in Paradise and other British police dramas which are DH's favorites, Mad Men, Parenthood, Royal Pains, Episodes, Atypical (Netflix Original), Drop Dead Diva, Gilmore Girls.
I don't like scary things either.

I enjoy watching foreign series. There are tons of wonderful ones if you don’t mind reading the subtitles. Currently I am watching Call my agent.

Thanks so much, this is a great list to start with. I think I'll finish S2 of Mrs Maisel in the next few days, then I'll set up the Netflix trial

I saw a clip for that show and Marie doesn’t speak English it seemed like an odd dynamic for filming.

Ozark with Laura Linney and Jason Bateman is very good. The Sinner with Jessica Biel is excellent. I also love Chef's Table. Sisters is good.

I'd prefer to listen so I can work on other things at same time. She can speak some English. Sometimes her assistant translates with a voice over. When it's just Marie by herself giving tips, it is subtitles.

OMG you guys. I thought I’d try Grace and Frankie while working on something else. The something else went totally by the wayside. Only on episode 1 (girls are stoned at the beach) but I’m loving it. Thanks for the suggestion!

Oh and by the way, not a fan of the Marie Kondo show after 4 episodes. One, the people on it seem generally uncomfortable in her presence. I think much of it make be due to the language barrier. Two, the people seem to have hoarder tendencies that don’t seem to be addressed at all. I can visualize them in the same predicament in just a few years. That said, Marie is adorable and I doappreciate the way in which she respects the home, the residents, and their belongings.

Basically look for anything marked Netflix Original - they are knocking it out of the park with a lot of their productions.
Grace and Frankie is pure gold!
I have Netflix, Prime and AcornTV ($5/month for UK, Australian and NZ programming and a few others tossed in)

My favorites are: Grace and Frankie, a new season starts soon! Santa Clarita Diet, Drew Barrymore, it’s hilarious Ozark, Jason Bateman All the British baking competitions
Recently I also watched Bird Box and Dumplin, both Netflix originals.
My kids (older teens) watch it all. The. time.
