So ds washed and dried a pen which exploded in the dryer. We are using acetone and cotton pads (used all my magic erasers).Eta: *we are interested in cleaning the dryer.*
It is slowly coming off but it is also smearing and making a much bigger mess. Is there another tip for getting the ink off?
I read about 2parts water to one part bleach and wet towels in solution and dry them. The thinking is the bleach will help take ink off.
Will my dryer be blue forever?

I think rubbing alcohol is supposed to remove ball point ink. Sorry this happened.

This has happened to me a couple times. Hairspray and a toothbrush can get the pen out of clothes but it's a real pain. I'd see how much I valued those clothes as to the time its going to take to get the pen out.
The ink in the dryer I never got out. I ran some crappy towels through a few times and the pen hardened in the dryer and doesn't come off on clothes. You can still see it if you open the dryer though. Someone probably has a better solution though.

I’d also try rubbing alcohol, it will remove Sharpie ink.

I'm sad to say this has happened more than once. In fact, DH emailed me this morning to ask me to pull a pen from his uniform pocket that he had tossed in the laundry pile. He carries a pen on him all the time at work and sometimes forgets to pull it out.
I've used hair spray and alcohol. Really, alcohol works the best. Try it with a Mr Clean eraser. Yes, it smears at first. I just tell DH to keep working at it (his pen, his labor!) I'll run a load of darks the first time through just to make sure all the ink is gone and just the stain is left. Eventually it fades away.

Yup, rubbing alcohol and magic eraser and a lot of elbow grease! Eventually it will come off but it’s definitely a PITA.

rubbing alcohol and baking soda, make a paste and spread it on. Let it dry and it will draw some of the ink out. Flake that off, then I typically alternate between more alcohol and dawn dish soap and scrub with a tooth brush. I use Tide stain release laundry detergent and it usually gets the rest out. Just don't dry it until the stains are gone.
