How old are your everyday dishes? We still eat off the plates we got for our wedding, almost 18’years ago. I have 3 other plates that came from when I sold Southern Living at Home. We have all but I think 1 bowl and 1 small plate. We do have plastic plates and bowls we use for snacks and lunch. But dinner is on the wedding stuff most days. I am thinking I want something new. 1 plate is showing wear. It’s cracked under the finish. But other than that, it’s still going strong.

My everyday dishes were a gift from my ex-MIL about 20 years ago. You would think I would have gotten rid of them when I divorced my ex, but I really like them, so I still have them. It's not a full set anymore, but almost. Only a few have broken over the years.

We just replaced our ten year old dishes. The new ones are timeless plain white ones from Crate and Barrel.

55+ years old. I inherited them from my grandmother 32 years ago. She had them as far back as I can remember and I am 61. I have broken one plate and a couple of bowls. We (DH, myself and our 2 sons) have eaten on them everyday. They are Johnson Brothers Friendly Village.

I replaced my wedding dishes approximately 8 years ago when DD moved into an apartment and needed dishware. I still liked my pattern and it wasn't really dated (it was a blue and white flowered pattern from Nautica) but I was ready for a change. I ended up with various colors of FiestaWare. I need to add about 4 more place settings as our family has grown.

Going on 30 years for the Corelle we got for our wedding and the few rando plates we had from our apartment before that are probably at least ten years older than that (lovely 1970’s looking rust and brown stripe). If I was going to replace it I would get more Corelle but just plain white. And I wouldn’t bother getting any of their coffee cups because DH says they’re too small.

also 18 years old, got them when i moved into my first apartment. We've lost some due to breakage and we just replace them with random one-offs, though we did buy a new set of bowls because the ones for the original set were fairly small (like the size of a large mug, not great for soup/stew type meals).

We still use our 23 year old Corelle Callaway (ivy pattern on white) dishes that I bought the year they came out. I'm really tired of them but own so many place settings & extra pieces that I probably won't replace them no matter how tired I am of looking at them. And I've rather amazed to say that we've never broken a single piece in all that time. It really is almost indestructible.

I used my Pfaltzgraff for about 20 years, then bought Fiestaware. DS has my old Pfaltzgraff and it’s still going strong.

I used the Mikasa dishes we got when I was married in 1990 for 26 years - 21 years longer than the marriage lasted! I never would get rid of them though because "nothing was wrong with them" and I felt I didn't NEED new dishes. I moved them all over the southeast with me. When I bought my new house in 2016 I finally decided that damnit, I'm getting new dishes! So I did. Just my luck that my mother wouldn't let me throw out the old ones and she took them home with her. Great... I'll end up having to deal with them again one day LOL.

Fiestaware Juniper which was made between 1999-2001. So it is between 18 and 20 years old. Another is from 2004ish (Sea Mist). The others are current colors I started collecting, and use, in 2009/2010.

I have my Pfaltzgraff Remembrance that I have had for 33 years(before marriage) and added to extensively including the matching silverware. I also have my Corelle which is used more than anything and has been around for 25 years, replacing my original set of Corelle. Our family grew and I needed a larger set. We have broken a few pieces and I have been lucky enough to find replacements on Ebay. I thought about this when the dog licking thread came up, wondering if people were grossed out by buying old dishes off Ebay I have considered replacing the Corelle but have never found something that I liked well enough to do that.

"Old Towne Blue" Corelle that is 40+ years old. I keep looking at the new patterns but there is nothing that strikes me.

Noritake Colorwave in several colors - it's between 15 and 18 years old. We are REALLY hard on dishes, and with multiple kids growing up here, it's no surprise that several pieces are chipped. I love that I can replace a piece if I feel the need.

I love dishes & would have a lot of different patterns if I had a butler’s pantry to store them in.
I also have a small set of Corelle that I received as a wedding gift in 1980. It has pink hearts. I’ve added a bunch of odd bowls because that’s what I like to use in the microwave. I have a nice set of Pfaltzgraph I bought in the 1990’s but 10 years ago my great aunt passed away with a nice set of white Mikasa that I took in. I like the look of white plates. Simplicity.

My Fiestaware is the paler yellow that was out in the late 90s. It's still perfectly usable but the frequently used pieces have gray silverware marks all over them now. Has anybody successfully removed them off of light colored dishes?
I don't mind using them for us, but hate serving guests on them because it looks dirty. I was thinking about adding a second color to replace the marked up plates and bowls.

I have a few sets of everyday dishes. My set of Gien Millefleur is 10 years old and still in use. Until recently we also used an ivory set from Crate & Barrel for 20 years. I got rid of them (too heavy) in Oct. and got a new set of all white Pillivuyt from Williams Sonoma. There is also a set of Churchill Blue Willow that is 25 years old and is still in use, but DD chose that when she moved out. Still have my original set of Pfaltzgraff (Yorktowne) from 1977 but we don't use it anymore.

Longaberger Heritage Green from around 1995.
They still look great, but I’m ready for a change and may move to Fiesta one of these days.

We still use the dishes from our wedding, 19 years ago. But we also have inherited my moms old Corelle dishes from when I was a kid. I actually prefer the correlle because they are lighter and fit into the dishwasher easier (especially the bowls).
