OMG - who could have predicted this?!?!?!!? Oh, yeah, unconnected little people like me. Or the group of CEOs they gathered at the time that told them it wouldn’t.

“First, let’s look at the new Post-ABC polling. Some highlights:
57 percent rate Trump’s handling of border security negatively, a remarkable indictment of Trump on his signature issue. 61 percent say Trump is not honest or trustworthy. 58 percent say Trump lacks the personality and temperament to serve effectively as president. 56 percent say Trump has not brought needed change to Washington. 65 percent say Trump does not understand the problems of people like them. 58 percent say Trump is not good at making political deals. 64 percent do not have a lot of confidence that Trump will make the right decisions for the country’s future.”

This morning twitter tells me that the president is now drumming up support for optional teaching of the Bible in public schools. Talk about pandering to your base!
Also, if we’re going to be optionally teaching the Bible in schools, are kids also going to have the option of taking a class in how to read all the other religious texts the world has to offer?
Hey, maybe since we apparently have extra money to fund Bible classes in public schools we could have Art and Music added back into the curriculums! That would be amazing, and probably really enjoyable for most of the students! Especially if the schools actually hired amazingly qualified teachers to teach those subjects again!

I'm actually in shock here. Did we know Tom Brokaw is a big ol' racist?
There's an argument to be made that the bits about too many future Democrats and being afraid of having brown-skinned grandchildren are others' opinions and not his own, but the "and also" segue to his own opinion about assimilating better doesn't sound like he's separating his (also disturbing) views from the others.

I respect other denominations and religions and refuse to force mine on anyone. If a school wants to have a moment of silence/meditation/prayer where a student can practice his/her own religion fine, but teaching the Bible? Nope. Not ok.

Newsweek...
“Rubio will fight Trump if he declares national emergency on border wall: "I think it’ll be a terrible idea" trib.al/cHw3tUx”
Unless there is another plan. I believe the money trump would be after is the money earmarked to help with the rebuilding of the areas hit by the wildfires in CA and the hurricanes in TX and FL.
So I’m not surprised Rubio would fight this plan.

I saw this yesterday morning and my jaw dropped. As a Hispanic American, I strongly disagree with him. It's possible to honor your culture while still embracing the country you are a citizen of. We are assimilating just fine. With all that said, let this be a teaching moment for him. We (society in general, not anyone specific here) need to stop going after people like a mob demanding that they lose their job. Let him learn from this. That's the only way to change attitudes.

McConnell is and has been a recipient of Russian funding. No wonder why he was pushing the vote against sanctions to Russia and dear old friend Oleg.
“On Monday evening, reports came in that Mitch McConnell is tied to the Russian transactions. Medium.com reports:
The Democratic Coalition’s ongoing investigation just uncovered the following evidence linking GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to Russian oil money, some of which we first revealed in February 2017.
McConnell recently voted to drop sanctions against Russian aluminum company RusAl which is still owned by one of Vladimir Putin’s sanctioned oligarchs, Oleg Deripaska. His action directly benefits one of the GOP leader’s major donors, whose fortune comes from Russian oil.
The Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC run by Sen. McConnell’s former Chief of Staff, received a total of $3,500,000 ($2,500,000 in 2016 and $1,000,000 in 2017) via Access Industries and a subsidiary. Len Blavatnik is a Russian oligarch with US and UK citizenship who owns Access Industries and donated to Sen. McConnell’s 2016 Senate campaign vehicles.
Last week, Sen. McConnell led 42 Republicans in voting against a resolution to maintain sanctions on Blavatnik’s business partner Deripaska.
Many of us thought McConnell was tied to Russia. Watching him defend and cling to Trump like a tic. Now we know.”
