McConnell is and has been a recipient of Russian funding. No wonder why he was pushing the vote against sanctions to Russia and dear old friend Oleg. “On Monday evening, reports came in that Mitch McConnell is tied to the Russian transactions. Medium.com reports: The Democratic Coalition’s ongoing investigation just uncovered the following evidence linking GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to Russian oil money, some of which we first revealed in February 2017. McConnell recently voted to drop sanctions against Russian aluminum company RusAl which is still owned by one of Vladimir Putin’s sanctioned oligarchs, Oleg Deripaska. His action directly benefits one of the GOP leader’s major donors, whose fortune comes from Russian oil. The Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC run by Sen. McConnell’s former Chief of Staff, received a total of $3,500,000 ($2,500,000 in 2016 and $1,000,000 in 2017) via Access Industries and a subsidiary. Len Blavatnik is a Russian oligarch with US and UK citizenship who owns Access Industries and donated to Sen. McConnell’s 2016 Senate campaign vehicles. Last week, Sen. McConnell led 42 Republicans in voting against a resolution to maintain sanctions on Blavatnik’s business partner Deripaska. Many of us thought McConnell was tied to Russia. Watching him defend and cling to Trump like a tic. Now we know.” Medium If this is true he needs to step down. Government employees cannot be beholden to foreign entities. That nifty security clearance mandates it.

No kidding. I’m trying to nail down our medical expenses for last year and I know I won’t be able to get it to the dollar amount. But somehow they can when it comes to the number of illegal immigrants and their costs? I mean, if you’re going to lie and make stuff up at least challenge us, make it a little believable and not as easy to completely dismiss.

Hell, I’m sure many people do think that, as sad a commentary on our nation’s critical thinking skills as that is.

It’s absolutely fucking-unbelievable what they are getting away with. If any democrat were to be even slightly as connected as the republicans, they’d have a dozen investigations out on each one. This is interesting. All comes down to Manafort as the key...... The timing of the talks between Trump’s campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, a veteran political consultant, and Konstantin Kilimnik, his longtime aide who allegedly had ties to Russian intelligence in 2016, occurred in New York on 2 August.
The meeting came just days after Kilimnik met in Moscow with Oleg Deripaska, a powerful oligarch and close ally of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. Deripaska had been a major client of Manafort but had sued him over a failed business deal in Ukraine and was seeking to recoup almost $25m.
The talks in New York, revealed in a recent court filing from Mueller’s office, came soon after Kilimnik emailed Manafort that he needed to brief him on his Deripaska meeting. Kilimnik, who worked for a decade with Manafort when he was a political consultant making tens of millions representing Deripaska and pro-Moscow Ukrainian political parties, emailed Manafort in late July that he had just spent hours with the man “who gave you your biggest jar of black caviar several years ago”, referring to Deripaska.
Kilimnik’s email to Manafort said that Deripaska asked him to convey “several important messages from him to you”.

Amazing how non-politicos like me can see this stuff a mile in advance. I've been saying this for 2 years.... Micheal Bloomberg practically announced his intentions. He reregistered as a Democrat and made the press aware. You can change your voter affiliation at any time and no one would ever know but he/his team made sure it was noted. That was pretty much an announcement if his intention to explore a run for President. I would vote for him in a minute he is squarely in the middle, a moderate. ( well unless your a sugared soda then he is an extremist lol ) And Bloomberg is not just a businessman who has no idea how things work he is a politician.

Perhaps he thinks that he is paying his private refugee camp directors more than he actually is. After all, Betsy Devos' company is getting $750 per night per child.

Acting AG Matt Whitaker (never investigated or approved by Congress) sweating bullets and stating that:
"he has been fully briefed on the Mueller Investigation" that the investigation is "close to being done"
and most chilling "I am comfortable that the decisions that were being made are going to be reviewed through the various means we have"
why is the Acting AG speaking on behalf of the independent Investigation?
and by review, is he stating that he/or the AG is going to censor it?
Is this just trump administration talking/diversion points? Is he just trying to make his boss (trump) happy? Is he trying to put pressure on the Mueller investigation, as it gets closer and closer to trump's inner circle? Is he trying to normalize the idea of the Administration 'editing' the findings? Is he trying to say that 'yu will never see this report"?

A lot of people, me included, took issue w/throwing Bloomberg in w/that group as he, at least, has executive political experience as a mayor of NY. The point still stands. Trump has shown that the Presidency can be bought by billionaires looking for another trophy to show off and another way to measure their manhood against other billionaires.

Why am I not surprised? ETA: You all seem to have some selective memory. How much did foreign governments and businesses contribute to the Clinton Foundation? And how much have those donations now dried up now that Hillary has no power?

And how much have those donations now dried up now that Hillary has no power? The charitable Clinton Foundation, with an A rating by Charity Watch because it can show that its funds actually go to charitable causes, is not remotely the same thing as a PAC for campaign finance. It's being reported (I'll find a link) that Marco Rubio and Lindsay Graham also received large sums from this oligarch. No matter which side of the political fence you are on, this should be disturbing. ETA: The CC's funds "drying up" were part of a three year trend. Donations dropped sharply each year from 2014 to 2017 - before, during and after the election cycle. So the idea of pay for play doesn't really pan out. This is all a matter of public record.

They'll be coming (again) for medicare and social security soon. Can't balance the budget on the backs of the comfortable billionaires. Let's balance it on the backs of the suffering elderly, the children of the poor, the disabled.
