Okay, this winter has been brutal on my heels.
Right now after my bath every morning I exfoliate with my Amope and then apply vaseline and a foot cream. Then wear socks.
At night I wash my feet, dry, then apply Tinactin then a fresh pair of socks.
I have been doing this for 2 weeks and they are still cracked 🙄
What works for you?

Make sure you drink plenty of water! And then drink more.
If you buy water by the individual bottles, keep 2 of them next to you. Not 1, but 2. And drink from them often.

Also, my heels crack less when I go barefoot.

Try a layer of bag balm and then wrap your feet in plastic wrap and put socks over the plastic. That way the bag balm is absorbed into your skin rather than into your socks.

Heeltastic. DH and I both swear by this stuff. One of those goofy as seen on tv kinda products, but it works wonders.

That sounds like a pretty intense regimen!
I've had great success with Flexitol Heel Balm. I usually apply daily, probably less in summer when I rarely wear socks.

Yep. I will second the Baby Foot peel. Nothing is like it. It is freeakky! LOL But man, your feet are amazing afterwards. I do once or twice a year now, but nothing was like the first time. I felt like I completely shed my feet! You have to do it right. Soak your feet good before putting the bootie on. I mean really soak them. I nice long hot bath will do the trick. I used a pumice stone a bit after I had soaked. Then put the Baby Foot bags on your feet. I like to cover them with a pair of fuzzy socks. Don't plan on getting a lot done when you have them on. You can walk in them, but it feels very slippery. I just chill out and watch a movie. The directions say to leave the bags on for an hour. Do this. Or longer. It won't seem like anything when you take them off. You rinse your feet and then forget it for a few days. Mine take 3 days or more to start to peel, and again, the peel starts to really work if you have soaked your feet again. And then... yikes! Everything comes off! I think I used a heel file on the really thick parts, but it came off easy when it was soaked. The thick cracked parts of my heels was nuts! It just came off! They seem expensive, but they work! Do it when you are not planning on showing your feet for a week or more. You can't short cut the foot soaks, if you really want it to work right. But your feet will never look better. I have used other brands off Amazon, and they also worked, but Baby Foot was the first I used and it was amazing! www.amazon.com/Baby-Foot-Exfoliant-Lavender-Scented/dp/B00461F4PA/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1548277124&sr=8-3&keywords=baby+foot

The Baby Foot peel is quite gross and quite amazing! It will get your feet in good condition, and then you can maintain. The ONLY thing that works for me is Cerave (the one in the big tub). I put it on my feet every night and in the winter I sleep with socks on. If I notice my heels getting a bit dry I will use a foot file on them before moisturizing.
Prior to using Cerave, my heels would crack so deeply that they bled. It was awful.

Don't dry them... I also really like the Dial - Greek Yogurt or Coconut Vanilla anything. I just put it on my feet and let it soak in. Also depending on how bad it is, I'll use the shaving cream with aloe and vitamin E and still do the same thing. I'm not too picky about lotions, like the deep healing ones eihter St Ives or Aveeno but I don't like anything oily.
I've also shave the dead parts that get really hard. I've never been able to use a loafa thing.. lol, you just have to be careful. But mine are usually pretty hard. They do have foot razors just for heals, but like I said sometimes it's not enough. I do use the protection blade so it doesn't get too close. Listernine is supposedly good to soak them in one of those foot things. It's said to take the dead skin off. I've never tried but a friend from work had said she uses it. I've always been afraid lol!

I use the foot razor for my heels and callouses, followed by a good scrubbing with a pedicure file. I put cream on every morning and every night -- and between all of that, I mostly have it under control. I swear that without modern conveniences my feet would look like a cave woman.

My new favorite is the foot cream by O'Keefe's (they sell the Working Hands hand cream.) ds was swearing by the hand cream so I decided to try the foot cream since my feet are always dry and cracked. Did it daily for a week or so and my heels looked awesome!

I swear by No Crack hand cream. Day Use No Crack hand cream. There is a night use as well that’s probably even better. But I use it and have nice feet in the dead of winter. I also use it on our lab’s paws. They get rough and she’s a working dog, so shakes hands a lot. Plus she loves her little foot massage when I rub it in.

I learned about it here, on a past thread.
Flexitol heel balm I recommend sanding your feet first, then slather your feet with the balm and cover with thick socks. Daily at first. Then once a week or as needed maintenance.

Thanks everyone! I will have to ask my allergist about the baby feet as I am allergic to 2 of those ingredients. But will get the flexitol for now.
I tried O'Keefs but it didn't work for me.
And I take in about 90oz of water a day lol
The weather is just so drying right now. We had a good week of rain and now it is cold (30° when I took dd to school), windy, and dry again. Blech!
I am constantly putting Cerave cream on my hands, arms, and elbows. And neosporin in my nose 2x a day and vaseline on my lips 3x q day

The flexitol has urea in it, which dissolves and softens the dead skin. That's the active ingredient you want to look for. It works like magic on my dry, scaly feet.

Another vote for Flexitol heel balm. It literally dissolves the crust off your heels.

I have to search and look for the no scent product. I am sensitive about perfumes, so prefer the no scent product. I can get No Crack on amazon, at Restoration Hardware and at Duluth Trading.
It really takes a very small amount used daily to keep the heels in order.

Move to Florida...my heels stay smooth with the humidity. In Arizona I was always having the “special cream” when I had pedicures. In Florida, the nail places don’t even mention “special cream”...

I’ve been using Aveeno lotion in the morning and Trader Joe’s Balm at night, and my heels have stayed really soft this winter. The TJ Balm is like Burt’s Bees Lemon Balm. I put it on my hands and lips too. Smells so good.
That Baby Foot stuff is fascinating and scary at the same time. What about trying the pedicure places with fish that eat the dead skin on your feet? Now that is really scary!

The foot peels are incredible!! I am a runner and have had some pretty gnarly feet, especially with heel cracks. I’ve done this 3 or 4 times in the last year or so, and will say that they continue to get better with each peel. The first treatment had the most skin sloughing. My feet ha e never looked better than they do now!
If you like to wear sandals in the summer, this is a great time to get started. That way the worst of the peeling happens when your feet are covered up with socks!
