This time last year HL was having a big clearance in the SB section. Has anyone spied clearance sales at any of the big box stores this year? My HL just finished inventory and wondered if clearance would follow soon afterwards?

I haven't seen any sales yet - BUT - I was in there yesterday and the stocker-lady (not sure what they are actually called!) was restocking some paper and she was talking to her friend saying that the new reset would be a pain to set up. So I am thinking it will be happening shortly if she already knew it would be a pain.

A friend just told me last night that she is seeing HL clearance sale YT hauls pop up. As for the when, my stores here generally are the tail end and they said it's not a high priority for them so there isn't a set deadline for when they do it, although it usually falls on truck days for one of them. If I check daily for weeks, the day I give up checking is when they do it and when I go back, everything I was watching is gone. So I honestly have given up...the sheer frustration and disappointment has made trying to figure out when the best time to go not worth it. The only time I really pressed about it was when I wanted the TH Platform. I missed out on it at my local store (I went in 2 days prior to the markdown happening and they insisted it was not set for markdown, only to go back and everything be sold out...I was pissed) but called another store that had the markdown list and hadn't yet done any markdowns. They pulled the one platform they had left, amended the price to the markdown price and I drove clear across town to get it. Otherwise...yeah, I've given up.
I may try calling one that has a truck today (the one across town) to see if they have done markdowns. There has only been one time I stumbled upon them at that store, but it was all TN and planner stuff, which didn't appeal to me as much as the other products. I really wish HL had some sort of reliable system and uniform date across the whole country so there appeared to be some rhyme or reason to it all.

I was just in the one by me last week looking for something and the clearance area was pretty much empty. It seemed to me that last year they tagged a lot of the clearance stuff in the aisles before the reset and most of it never made it to the designated clearance area. I always go hoping to score some dies cheap and always seem to just miss out on the good stuff!

I live over 40 miles away. I am unable to stalk the store.

I just saw a YT video so it has begun. Guess I need to start stalking my store too, lucky its 2 miles from my house. I’m in envy of the YT hauler, their store has tons of dies, mine only has about 2 dozen.

My scrapping friend happened upon a bunch of clearance dies Friday. Thankfully she is generous about 'making the Hobby Lobby run' and picking things up for the rest of us! I'm not sure if there was other clearance than the dies.

As of Saturday my store didnt have the clearance tagged yet and the clerk said I could just call the store and ask. I’ve been watching YT videos and making my shopping list.

My north store is good about marking items. My south store is about two weeks later.

My store was clearancing dies (yeah, i went a little bonkers, hard not to at 75% off) and they were in the process of marking other things down.

Several Distress Oxides were marked to $1.49 today. 12 packs of Distress Markers were $8.70. Crayons were marked down too. Weren't yesterday when I checked. The clearanced dies at mine were mostly Christmas.

Thanks! I stopped by HL on my way home and picked up a few things. I only saw 2 different colors of the distress oxide inks, abandoned coral and antique linen, for $1.49; I got both. I got the very merry Christmas die with Santa and kids for $6.24! Plus I got the planner embellishments for $4.99. Another bonus for today, my dragon die that I ordered from Amazon weeks ago (and forgot about) came in the mail.

Mine won't mark down the oxides...the ones that did were already cleared out. Gave the deets to a friend about a store I was going to visit and she beat me to the only 2 one store had. The one far away that said they hadn't even received their markdown list already had theirs marked down. I'm getting really frustrated with the inconsistency and lack of willingness to at least double check things that everyone else is getting on sale. The oxides are marked discontinued, but for some reason are the only things my closest store won't mark down.

I was at a H L last night and nothing was clearenced. I haven’t checked my usual HL lately but it’s because I really don’t need anything right now.

I stopped at Hobby Lobby 2 nights ago to get one thing. They had done the clearance on the dies. It was mainly Fall and Christmas dies. They were 75 percent off. There were Christmas Spellbinders, Sizzix, Crafter’s Companion, and Momenta all 75 percent off. Lots of nice dies at good prices. Also, lots of Tim Holtz items on clearance - Distress Spray 3 packs are $2.99, Distress Paints 99 cents, waterbrushes were 75 percent off. They also had the Cutterpillar Pro down to about $32.00. I hesitated on that since I don’t have a place to keep it. Someone else will enjoy it. Lots of good prices. They are not in the clearance section. They are in the regular sections of the store. Hope this helps.

Dang! It’s been way too cold to go anywhere all week, plus my ‘I hate shopping!’ kid was home from school and it practically takes an act of God to get her out of her PJs if she doesn’t have to go somewhere. I wanted that little Christmas Cookie Tim Holtz die set and might have to venture out tomorrow to see if I can score one on sale... hmmm...
