The sponge video in the other thread reminded me of the time I read about making your own flower soft by using the shavings from styrofoam balls and adding some ink. I made a bit and thought, what the heck am I going to use this for? I still have bottles of that stuff, along with eyelets, chalk, glitter and a bunch of other things that I don't think I've used but once. I went through and got rid of a lot of paper a while back, but I seriously need to purge more. What craft supply do you still own, but need to get rid of?

How long do you have? I have a room full of craft stuff that I've been weeding out, but still so much more to go. First thing that comes to mind are knitting and crochet needles. The last time I knitted was in 1986, a sweater vest for myself. Crochet needles? Probably in high school (1970's). I drool over all the beautiful knitted and crochet projects on the craft thread each month and tell myself that I will start knitting/crochet again. Ha! Who am I kidding. I should just let them go, but hope springs eternal! Next would be all the stickers and pre-cut scrapbook paper I have 2 bins of (small bins). I've purged a lot of them, but can't seem to let go of these "just in case".

I still have a lot of cross-stitch stuff. I can't let it go. I did throw away all my magazines and donated all my pattern books. I figure I can start fresh there, should I ever feel the urge to cross stitch again.

I need to stop accepting everyone's left overs from scrapping. Everyone knows that I scrapbook so they ask me if I want their stuff. I don't hesitate a second and say OF COURSE.. Usually what I get is really outdated stuff like dried up inks, papers I wouldn't really use.. I can usually find a few things that I like but normally not. Then I have to go through it all and get rid of it again.. Yikes....

I figure I can start fresh there, should I ever feel the urge to cross stitch again. I gave all mine to a friend.. I had books and binders of patterns, tons of cloths and threads (I worked at HL at the time so I got TONS of it for deals!)... I kinda regret it but on the other hand would I really start up again... sometimes I have that urge but it usually passes.

All my scrapbooking stuff. I have a few albums I need to finish, but I feel like I need to hold on to everything because I won’t know what I will need. I haven’t scrapped in years. Same with my fabric for quilting. Haven’t touched that in years either.

Decorative scissors. Deckle, scalloped, and pinking I’m looking at you! I used to have way more, but I got rid of them a long time ago.

I purged a lot of my supplies over a year ago... but I still have a room full! Pretty much untouched except for some cards and party invitations I’ve made over the past year. So, what should I get rid of... all of it?! None of it?!

I've gotten rid of a ton of stuff and have very limited scrapping supplies now. I haven't scrapped in years but I still have the original red Sizzix. That thing is so heavy!

I have a closet full of paper flower tissue and other projects I used to do when I did a library craft program. It is in the back of the closet so out of sight, out of mind.

I should get rid of 90% of my craft supplies, because I never use them. Embellishments, stamps, paper, ink, rub-ons... I have an absolute shit-ton. I should just sell it on eBay.

I purged a huge amount of scrapbooking stuff about two years ago. Boxes and boxes of stuff. I gave a lot to a kindergarten teacher friend and donated a bunch of unopened stuff to the Hospice thrift store (unused mini-album kits, I'm looking at you). I kept the basics, but I'm sure there's more that could go if I were ruthless.
I do need to get rid of my Cricut. I never used it much back in the day and doubt I'll ever crank it up again. I have lots of the original cartridges and never hooked them to a 'jukebox' or whatever that thing was called. They might even be worth something.

My heat gun for embossing. I've only tried it once. We use mine to defrost the ice machine when it gets cranky, so I'll be keeping that supply. LOL!

I just purged a lot of my scrapbook supplies - gave them to a local Girl Scout troop. They were thrilled!
I, too, keep a box of cross-stitch supplies. There are several unfinished projects in there and I always think SOMEDAY I'm going to find time to finish them. Yeah, right...

flowers for using on scrapbook layouts. you know, the cheap knock-offs of Prima paper flowers, and the fabric / silk ones that we got by buying fake flowers at M's and ripping apart... those kind. The WORST part of it is, I DID get rid of them years ago, and then last spring at a scrapbook supply 'yard sale' I bought three ziploc baggies full of them! (I think I must have had an idea for what to do with them, but I don't remember what it was, of course! My heat gun for embossing. I've only tried it once. We use mine to defrost the ice machine when it gets cranky, so I'll be keeping that supply. LOL! this is brilliant! we get an ice cube stuck in our ice maker every once in a while and my heat gun would work great for that, too.

I haven't purged in a while since I haven't been in my scrap room in a long time, but one thing comes to mind. I went to a scrapbook expo in Austin in like 2006 or 2007 and got talked into buying this expensive set of chalks. I literally used them maybe twice and they're still sitting there.

Probably my original red sizzix. Bunch of paper. Some stamps.
I’m currently getting back into scrapping & card making, so as I go along when I come across an item that I know I won’t use I’m putting it aside for the garage sale that a paper craft store near my SIL has in the fall.

( ask my ex, who I warned he should use a hairdryer the heat tool was too directed & too hot ) that was an expensive repair

With all the 'parts' call some middle schools or high schools or better yet a Y or recreation center, a church/Sunday school. It could be a tax deduction for far more then you could sell it. Probably my original red sizzix. ..... The middle School for scrapbook club I donated mine to, keep it a permanent cutting station, mostly Sizzlit alphs but others dies I also donated. My answer should be, get rid of ALL of it!
