This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These need to be posted in the body of your message post. LAYOUTS MUST BE HOSTED FROM ANOTHER SITE SUCH AS PHOTOBUCKET. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Nylene

Here is a post I did this evening The journaling reads: When I got my bike I had to learn to ride all over as I had never before used hand brakes and gears. Also my body is so out of shape that riding any distance was really challenging my body. We have only rode the bike trail a couple of times but this time I made the two miles to Boston Mills Road, and the two miles back. Hipp hipp hooray!!!! Products are by Jana Morton and Katie Pertiet. Thanks for looking!

hello girls!
Cindy - I had seen your LO on the other post and I did not have time to comment. But the October post is here and I have to say congrats on biking for 2 miles. Its a long way for someone who has not use a bike frequently. i should mirror on your example and exercise myself. I am so out of shape too. But I have to confess my laziness. I am. But always dreaming in turning into an active person. May be soon... Your digital LO is great, and I love the way you use the frame on it! And the title rocks!
Nylene - I love your new Disney LO. I agree with Cindy: the lamp post set a mood for this page. And the little flowers... just like Disney - doesn't matter which season, they do always have flowers. And Drew, he is a cutie!!
I hope I can find sometime to scrap again this weekend.
Cya later- alligator!

Good evening everyone! hope all is well and everyone is safe and well! Today would have been my mom's birthday and is Bob & my 43rd wedding anniversary!!! Wow that is a longtime! My mom would have been 85 today but she passed away 8 years ago. Did not do anything special but I did cook a corned beef brisket and made Reuben sandwiches. In case you do not know that is corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand Island dressing on rye bread then grilled to melt the cheese! I love them! They are not the healthiest food to eat but I only get them twice a year so I indulge. I need to be scrapping another page for my class but maybe tomorrow! I did the big clothes transfer today-grrr I hate that job. We are supposed to have rain for the next week! I could live without that also! Well not much else going on so will check back later!

Hi, everyone! Dani, it's nice to see you popping in. I hope you get some time to scrap and that your kits eventually get through to you. Cindy, Happy Anniversary to you and Bob. That's a great accomplishment, 43 years! Sounds like you made a special dinner for you two. Today is Alex's 2nd birthday and we went over for present opening and cake. Em make a cake that looked like a construction site and road and put little backhoes, etc. on it. Very cute. Of course I forgot my camera, but I think DH got some good photos. Here' a new layout I did when I should have been doing other things. LOL!

I have to say before I looked at the journaling I said "AWWWWWW how cute is that!!!!" Those photos are very heartwarming! Love the colors you used here and the layered ribbons. These Disney pages are just wonderful I feel like I went along!
Thanks Nylene and I can't wait to the pics of that cake! Yes 43 years is a long time and we were together for 2 years before that! We are supposed to get a week of rain! We are getting a cold front headed down from Minnesota so i hopefully will get some scrapping done. I sure have plenty to do. I did go in and did some cleaning in my scrap room. I suddenly realized I need to get started on my holiday cards etc. Well I am going to get off of here and watch the news and go to bed.

I could not sleep so here's one I did during the night! The journaling reads: We went to the Air Show at KSU Airport . The new blimp was there. They christened it the Wingfoot One. Wingfoot Lake is where the hanger is where they build blimps. They had flight simulators there where you could fly a plane on a computer. They also had Army planes you go in and see where the soldiers would sit to wait to parachute out. Maggie was shown how the women during the war worked in plants and made the planes. She also heard about Rosie the Rivetor. We then outdoors and watched planes taxi down the runway and then take off. It was a fun time for all. Thanks for looking! Products are by Jana Morton and Katie Pertiet

Happy October ladies! Thanks Nylene for keeping us going each month. We are having another heat wave out here and wish I could send it to some of you that are feeling cool now. I have been using my stencil technique and making lots of picture. It is so fun and relaxing so I have been crafting it up! Nylene- Oh your layouts are so lovely. I just love the lamppost on the first one along with that cute pic of your dgs. The second one, I like the medallion and the strips of pp. The picture is so cute seeing your dgc holding hand. You take such great pictures and I enjoy seeing them. Speaking of photography, how is your new camera going? Cindy- Happy belated anniversary!!!! What a great celebration! I hope you both enjoyed your day and wishing you many more years of lovey dovey bliss. Oh, and the lo of Kent State is so neat. What a fun and educational time for the dgc. I know they had a ball. I do like all the pictures you were able to add. Great job! Now the one with you and your ride is just amazing! You looked fantastic and the background of the park you were at with all the green is so nice. Girl, you are really getting your exercise on too. Not sure how I would do either because I haven't been on a bike in ages. Waving hi to all you gals and have a restful evening!

Hi, Pokeys! Sorry I've been away from the computer. Crazy days around here. On Sat. DH was cutting with his table saw when he ran upstairs holding his hand and said, "I need help!" I was afraid he'd cut his fingers off, but he had a board kick-back that smashed into his hand and made mincemeat of the ends of 3 fingers. There's nothing to stitch, just a ragged mess where the tips of his fingers used to be. We bandaged them, but they kept bleeding. It was some time before we could get the bleeding stopped. Would he go to the Dr? Not a chance! We have cleaned and redressed them everyday, but they still look pretty bad. I'm just so grateful that it wasn't an accident that took his fingers off!
We are leaving for a couple of days for a Golf Course conference. One of those days he was supposed to golf, but that's out now. I'm afraid the pressure would not only hurt his fingers, but open them up and start the bleeding again. I plan to sit in the hotel and work on cards, maybe starting my Christmas cards. Wendover,Utah/Nevada is not the most interesting place to visit if you aren't a gambler. The only shopping is one small grocery store on the Nevada end of town. What a place to hold a conference! There's not even anything to take photos of to try out the new camera.
Cindy, I love your Kent State pages. What a great experience for your grands. I left you a note on your blog.
Kelly, that would be wonderful if you could make some money with some of your art. I love those stencil girls. Such a cool technique. Good luck! Are you still making any cards?
I need to run and get a few things done before we leave. Take care, everyone. Hugs to all...and kisses to Dani!

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well today. My day was fine. I was at my art table trying a new stencil I made so that was fun play time. Nylene- Oh boy, I am so glad to hear your dh is ok. How scary that must of been! But at least you both get to rest and enjoy the conference. Making cards sound like a fun thing to do. I haven't made any cards in a while but I do plan to make some for Christmas. I think I have made soooo many I get sort of empty of energy and ideas. It is so interesting to see my creative journey and how it goes from thing to thing. But with all its movement, I still have a love for cards and scrapping. So hopefully I can find some pretty holiday paper so I can whip up come cards. Also, I am getting excited about selling my art at the upcoming festival. I do hope it sells! Waving hi to you gals and have a good evening/morning!

Good Morning Peas! Wow where is everyone? Waving a big Hi to everyone. Here's a layout I did this morning of my grandson with his Where's Waldo Birthday card. I just love this photo of him! Products used are by Jana Morton, Erica Zwart and the image of Waldo is from the internet. Nylene-sorry to hear about Steve's accident-I sure hope they heal with no problems. Have fun on your mini vacation. I hope you get to have some fun while Steve is at his meetings. Kelly- I have been watching football but missed seeing how your teams did I guess I was still in shock form the win we got. Another version of the cardiac kids from the eighties! LOL Well I have more to do so I better get moving! Have a great day! Dani-hope to see your beautiful work this weekend!!

Hello, Pokeys! We are home a day early since DH wasn't able to golf with his hurting fingers. They are looking much better, but still pretty tender. I got a lot of my Christmas card elements made so just need to put them all together. I also got cards made for this month's Card Club. I'll scan and post a photo later. Cindy, that is the cutest layout of Bobby with such a fun expression on his face. Love the photos from different angles and love the way they blend into each other. Your title with Waldo in the O is so clever. Love, love, love this! Looks like lots of our Pokey Peas are busy elsewhere. I hope we get a few more back. It seems like from now til Christmas the Pokey Peas thread is pretty quiet. It just sort of goes with the season. I finished a 2 pager that I started before we left. Of course it's more Disney! This album is going to be huge by the time I scrap all the photos I took and all that Angie took. Hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend!

Well Nylene Big is good! I am enjoying everyone you have made! They are so cute and I love the colors you are using! I love seeing Sammie and Drew too! Oh what fun this ride must have been! Love all the layers and the silhouettes of Mickey. Those journalers are so perfect for these pages. Beautifully scrapped and pinned so I may lift them! LOL
Glad you are back and that Steve's fingers are healing. Have a good night.

Happy Friday all! We are still waiting for Fall weather here, lol but no real complaints. I took a break from my art the last few days but hope to get into it over the weekend. Tonight we are going to our art gallery's 2nd anniversary opening. It will be great to see lots of the art they showed since they opened. So I hope we get there a little earlier this time so we can see everything without the big crowds. Nylene- Wow, you got a lot done on your trip. I know all of what you did will make it easier to get those cards done. So glad you both had a nice time and your dh is feeling better. He is a real trouper! This two-pager you did is just wonderful! Love the bingo like cards you used and the soft colors. The Mickey images all over are so adorable along with your journaling. These are fantastic and I too love seeing these Disney pages. Keep 'em coming!!! Cindy- Your team did a great job getting the win last Sunday! I heard about the end of the game win. I am glad you were having a good sports weekend. Ours was tough! USC & UCLA both had tough losses. Then this week the Dodgers lost and that one still hurts a little. Geez! Hope this weekend is better. Oh and your layout is so good. I like the great expression on his face and your journaling. He is a nice dgs and I know you all are so proud of him. The broken lines around the border too is a fun touch. Great job Cindy!

Hi Peas!!! I hope all is well with everyone! Here's a page I wanted to do for my DGS for when he is forty years old! The journaling reads: You went to school one day this week with a loose tooth. You pulled it while you were there and they gave you a little yellow treasure chest to keep it in so you would not lose it. You were excited to show it to me when you got off the bus. That night when your dad went to tuck you in he handed you your tooth to tuck under your pillow. You told him you did not want to put it under your pillow for the tooth fairy! You said you wanted to save for a time when you needed it. I do not think I have ever heard of anyone saying this before. You are always thinking about things before you do them but this one surprised everyone! October 11, 2014 Products are by Jana Morton and Katie Pertiet. Been watching football and so far both of my teams have won! I sure hope the Browns win tomorrow-we play the Steelers-one of our biggest rivals! Have a good evening! BBT!

Cindy, I started laughing as I read your journaling. What a little cutie. He's such a smartie.....too bad you can't replace those teeth later. Love your layout and love the journaling in the circle with his photo. You are becoming so proficient in your titles. This one is so amazing. What a fun class! Love the sentiment you express about him in your journaling. In later years, those kind words are going to be such a special gift to him.
Kelly, I'm glad it's cooling down some for you. Sorry your teams have not been doing as well as you'd like. I told you a couple of years ago that I was doing Indexing and Digitizing genealogical records so they can be searched by name, date, place, etc. Well, I've been doing Obituaries lately. I just index the next batch that pops up and happened to index Sir Lawrence Olivier. On obituaries, you have to include every.single.name mentioned. So on a 2 page obituary I indexed Marilyn Monroe and a huge list of other co-stars. It was really fun. I read that 8 million names have been digitized from obituaries, so if you start working on your genealogy again, be sure to check out the obits.
I need to get something constructive done today. Seems like the days just fly by. I'm not sure I told you that I am volunteering at Lyssie's school Mon, Wed and Friday to help with reading. I help the students who are at least 2 grade levels behind where they should be. I'm loving it. I just go from 8:30 to 10:30 so it still leaves me time to do the things I need to do. They are really sweet kids.
Better run! Have a great week!

Welcome Mamakven, so glad to see your layout. I love your design and always love circles. The arrows are a great touch. Love the black and white polka dots on the background. Did you stamp those? I tried to leave a note on your Instagram, but you have to have an account. I can see the photos my girls post on my ipad, but I don't remember signing up or having a password. One of my DD's must have done it for me and I have no clue what my password is. Guess I'll have to give each one a call! LOL!
We are always glad to have new members join us. This is a no pressure challenge and you can come and chat at any time whether you have finished a layout or not. Nice to have you.

I just picked up 200 photos from Costco! That should keep me scrapping into the 25th Century. Wish I were a fast scrapper. I think I could lock my scraproom door and have enough paper and photos and embellishments to scrap forever. I'd have to leave once in a while to get adhesive, but that's all. So why do I always look at scrap supplies when I'm out shopping for Cub scout or 4-H things??? I need a 12-step program!
Off to finish some cards for a neighbor's B-day gift. She looks forward to getting a box of cards from me each year. It's an easy gift for me to give and I enjoy doing it.
Have a great week. We have Fall Break so the kids (and I) are out of school until Tuesday. We need to find something fun to do!
Dani, how's the weather down in the southern hemisphere?

Thanks for the welcome! I need to make a sig line! I'm Rebecca, mom to 7, so i scrap- a LOT. i'm not a slow scrapper, per se, but i do individual pages at a time and my focus is on the artsy aspect as well as recording memories. I used a mask on that layout and inked on top of it... i'd prefer to use spray but i've not figured out how to do that without the liquid ink running and ruining the polka dots I use my instagram as my gallery, so everything i make is there, my link is www.instagram.com/mamakven

Rebecca, I love the variety of your layouts on Instagram. And yet each one is so clean and classy. That's my favorite kind of layout. I'm going to see if I can get my Instagram password so I can leave comments there. What are the ages of your children? You have your hands full with 7. Thanks for telling me about your dots. I'm too nervous to do much with ink and spray in my scraproom! You did a wonderful job with the mask.
I'm a mother of 4 and grandmother of 14.(11 of whom live here in Utah County.) I teach 4-H and Cub Scouts and have started helping below-grade-level readers 3 days a week at a local elementary school. My DH is partially retired and just works seasonally for a few hours a day as a Golf Course consultant. Scrapping is my therapy! I've been hosting the Pokey Peas for about 9-10 years. And I am usually pretty Pokey!

Hey all! I slowed down this week but glad the weekend is here. We didn't make it to the art exhibit last Friday so I hope to see it all this weekend. Maybe seeing all those creations will help me recharge my artsy batteries. Nylene- 200 pictures? Wow! Yeah, you are going to have lots and lots of fun creating with all those pictures. If Cindy and I were your neighbors we would come over and help you too. Cindy, do you like how I am volunteering you? LOL! Great to hear that more of the ancestry records are online and you are apart of the process. How cool is that to see the famous people's records too. SO maybe when I get back to my research, I will find more records. Cindy- Hoping the Browns have another great weekend. Have you or your family been checking out LeBron and the new Cavs? They are going to be fun to see how they mesh and develop as the next super team. Rebecca- Welcome! So glad to meet you and hope to see you around. Your layout is very fun. I like all the dots you added to the background and the use of the paperclip was a fun addition too. Nice work! Also, I am Kelly, married and live in California. I love making cards, scrapbooking, drawing and painting. Lately, I have been on a painting kick but hope to get some cards and scrapping down before the end of the year. Now that is Pokey! LOL! Waving hi to everyone else. Take care and have a nice day.

Hi, everyone. Kelly, I hope you and Ron have been able to get to the Art exhibit this weekend. We need to see more of your art! I finished another Disney layout. At this rate it will take me years to finish, but that's OK because I am enjoying them. It's kind of a lazy weekend around here. The kids have Fall Break but have a family friend visiting from Michigan and the other grands are off on holiday to Arches National Park. So DH and I are just hanging around. I should be doing some cleaning, but scrapping is SOOO much more fun.

Oh my goodness they really were dwarfed! What a great page! I don't know how you remember the names of all those areas at Disneyland. Love the color palette and your title work is fabulous! Are you sure you didn't take that class? I also love your little floral clusters! Nice seeing everyone! I was actually in my scrap room making pro to types of some cards I might make for Christmas. It was cold and rainy here today so no hiking. Hope to go tomorrow so I get my eight done. I think I only have 3 to go. Well the three college teams I root for all won today. I hope the Browns do tomorrow as well. Well it is late and I am going to get off of here. Hope you have a great weekend.

Good Morning Sweet Peas!
We just got in from vacation yesterday, we went to Pensacola Beach in Florida. It was such a great trip. We went with friends for fall break and got condos in the same complex. Olivia wasn't there with us, her break is this week, so it was the other four of us and Mallory's best friend. The weather was gorgeous and it was just so nice for me to be able to get away from work for a while. I tried to put down all of my devices and didn't even take my laptop, which was super nice.
My life at work had been crazy for about the last month, but most of our events are done for the year, so I plan to get my schedule back under control. My VP of HR resigned last month, so her last day was right before i went on vacation. When I go back to work tomorrow, I will be doing her job and mine for a while, which is not that exciting to me, but I'm kind of used to it.
Nylene - I am SOOO glad that Steve didn't lose his fingers...that sounds terrible. I hope that they heal up well enough that he can golf and do all of the things that he likes to do again. BTW, I saw that Tammy posted a "hi" from you on the FB group. I don't check on that group very often either, but saw that on there this morning.
I actually got some scrappy pages done, I may try to put some up on the blog today, I'll have to see if I get to it. I've really been trying to be off the computer and devices when I'm home, I feel like I don't get enough time with the family, so I'm trying to be more present when I am home. I also had 150 of our vacation pics printed yesterday at Walgreen's...so I've got new photos to play with, which makes me happy. I have a couple of new favorite pics from the trip, so I can't wait to get those scrapped.
Well, I'd better get moving, just wanted to drop by to say hi and let you all know that I'm thinking about you.
Fondly,
Tina

Tina, your trip sounds wonderful. Too bad Olivia couldn't have gone with you. Sounds like you needed the break from work. I'm looking forward to seeing your photos. I had to laugh at your 150 photos since I just had 200 printed. Maybe we should hole up together and scrap til we drop! How's your DH's job looking going? It's so nice to see you checking in and to see your smiling happy face.
Steve's fingers are almost healed. He has one that still has a bandage on it while he's working, but the other two are healed. He's a fast healer!
I am working on a page, but probably won't get it finished until Wed. I have a new Cub coming in tomorrow and have a lot of things to do to get ready for him. We are making our Walking Duck Marionettes and it's a crazy process. Not sure why I do it each year, but the younger Cubs can't wait to be Webelos so they can make the puppets. So I'm feeling obligated each year. They learn a lot but it takes about 4 weeks to finish them. I need to take photos this year before they take them home.
Be back later.

Hey all Ron started a new job today!!!! I didn't want to mention it until he started. After last time I just want to make use this one was for sure. Thank goodness! It is another full time temp but we'll take it. So my life should be getting back to my normal this week. We did get over to the art gallery over the weekend and the had lots of art to see. I especially liked the art on wood and the had a robot looking piece that was made from car parts and looked like a giant crab. That was the show stopper. I did feel inspired and hope to get back to my art this week. I got my first art order too and that is exciting. So lots to do this week.
Tina- Great to hear you had a fun and relaxing vacation. So you have got some scrappin' to do. Good to see you too. Hang in there!
Cindy- What a football weekend. I saw so many games, they are all a blur! LOL!
Nylene- Your layout is too cute! Those were some huge figures your dgks were standing next too. Wow, I haven't been to Disneyland in so long I think it would feel new to me. So you are reintroducing me to the park with all your fun layouts. Also, so glad your dh is getting better.
