This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to February. I hope you are all in from the storm and warm. LisaDV, I am concerned about your driving tomorrow. I hope the roads are cleared and that you can proceed slowly and carefully. Sorry you couldn't sign electronically. I have lots of layouts to check out. msliz and @elaynef, you have really been on a roll. Congrats on all your scrapping. I'm off to a meeting, will try to catch up tomorrow afternoon.

nylene, thanks for the new thread. And for your concern! You are so sweet! I made it safely to southern Michigan. A 3 hour drive took 5, so slow and steady was my motto. We closed. Drove to the new place. Door wide open during the polar vortex. Come in. Water doesn’t work and it’s 39 degrees in the house. Once things start thawing, we find a leak. With Don’s work, he just swings into problem resolution mode. It’s one of the things I love about him - his cool calmness. Plumber came out to assess. We think it’s the refrigerator line, but will have to test after everything dries out. Not the first night we were hoping for but the door being left open helped with some of the nicotine stench, so there is a bright side. 😂 otherwise things are good - my whole family is together complete with the dogs and the cat. Just exhausted now, so I’m off to dreamland.

What a traumatic day for you and your family, LisaDV! Did you travel with the kids AND the pets? Glad you got there safely, but that was really strange about the door! We had warm weather today—around the freezing mark—so much nicer than you were having out east. We signed our wills today in one town, and then I took dh’s old computer and his new one to Best Buy to have everything transferred over. I did some shopping , ran some errands, then had a quick gift exchange with justjac over supper, picked up the new computer, and came home. Tomorrow I have a dr appointment and then physio. Supposed to be getting snow again. I would like to use that excuse to skip physio, but I won’t unless roads are totally plugged.

LisaDV , I am so glad you arrived safely. How strange that the door was open. Maybe it was a tender mercy so that you could breathe less nicotine smell through the night. I'm sure sleep was needed. Isn't it great when you have a DH who knows how to do things. I'm glad you can get the plumber working on the leak. grammadee , I hope you don't get too much snow. We are expecting more but not until Sunday. Ours has almost melted off again. How is your knee feeling? We have not updated our wills since DH retired from National Guard. They always made us update everything every year and again if the group was deployed. I guess we should go update. You guys are really on the ball!! It looks like we have a bunch of Pokeys signed up for the Feb.Team Challenges. We are more evenly distributed between the 2 teams this month. I hope you all have lots of mojo and .....enough supplies. LOL. I could scrap for a century with the paper I have. Some is becoming old and ugly so I always long for new stuff.

grammadee, did you get snowed out of physio? How much snow do you have? I was telling our realtor at closing the I had shoveled down to 2-3” before the ground and had 24” on top of that, so at least 26-27” in the lowest area (not drift areas). This was before our added 10” of Wed. nylene, I feel the same about my supplies. I wouldn’t need to buy anything other than glue and cardstock and could scrap forever. Doesn’t stop me from wanting new pretties. Speaking of pretties, I’m sure I’ve mentioned we’re foodies at my house. Don’s Director hiring package included $$ toward new appliances and things. Yesterday my kitchen aid 5ply pot and pan set came. It’s so pretty. It has measurements marked on the inside of the pots too. Lots of heft too. Definitely the nicest set I’ve ever owned. I also ordered a new Jenn-air refrigerator since the leak was from the refrigerator line. We are very happy we had that 2nd furnaced fixed before the door was left open. Yesterday I attacked the kitchen. I bleached and cleaned the refrigerator. Then I was sad that we ordered another one. I really like the space and features of the current one. 😂 Then I worked on the cabinets. There are a lot of cabinets as I’m less than halfway through. Today we’re going out as it’s supposed to be above freezing!

Hi ladies! And happy February! nylene - I'm so sorry for all you have going on, but it's good to see your face around here again . I hope your knees won't give you too many more fits, so that you can have the replacements on your own schedule. grammadee I hope you didn't get so much snow you have to cancel with the physio. I need to get all of my annual Dr. appointments made this month. LisaDV I would say that's crazy about the door being open, but that happened to us once. Went away for the weekend and came home to the door slightly open. Turns out the foundation of the house has shifted and popped the door open. That was quite the unexpected expense of having that fixed. That sucks about the leak, I hope it's nothing too major. But I'm sure you are loving having your family under one roof. I hope everything else goes smoothly for you as you start the reno. nylene you mentioned having enough supplies..... I have soooo much stuff! I could easily scrap for a few years without making a dent. Especially as slow as I go. I do love the process of choosing, and placing and rearranging things on a page, but man a wee bit of speed would be nice too lol. I'm running errands this morning and getting the housework done so I can scrap most of the day tomorrow. Rudy will be here this evening and there is no scrapping when he's around lol. It's gone from below freezing on Wednesday to 50 degrees yesterday and 60's for the weekend! Waving hi to everyone, hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Good Saturday morning, Pokeys! We did not get nearly the amount of snow you did out east, LisaDV. A couple of inches yesterday. But lots of blowing snow on the roads and some ice underneath. I kept my dr appointment and went to physio. I am not as sore as I thought I would be this morning. I think the pain in my knees as I was doing the exercises prevented me from straining anything else. I completed all the exercises. They modified some of them for me. The only one that I couldn't complete was the stationary bike: pushing on the pedals was really painful, but I managed 5 minutes instead of the ten they had set for me. Have fun with your dgs, joyfulnana. You can scrap later. Glad so many Pokeys are signed up for teams. Hoping you put in challenges that will help you scrap the month away. I hope to get a couple of pages put together today. Dd sent pics of their little guy enjoying the mega snowfall they got in Ontario.

Here are four pages I put together yesterday and today, all with a winter theme using photos dd sent me from the fun their little guy was having after their ginormous snowfall this past week. It was fun to be warm and cozy indoors scrapping about fun in the snow, using supplies from my Winter bin, and able to meet the colour palette from 28-4-28 Day two. snow day two '19 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Snow day '19 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr get outside by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Happy Monday, Pokeys. Hope you are all warm and safe! When do you head back to the farm, LisaDV ? Will the warm temps cause problems with too much melting too fast? Dd went snowshoeing with her family yesterday and had to wear rainboots on her trip to university today. No fear of melting around here: temps below -25C How are you knees, nylene ? Hoping they are holding out and that there was not too much snow for you guys yesterday. I see that you have jumped right into the February challenges, including 28-4-28. Awesome! Have you recovered from the Super Bowl, kellyr21 ? I didn't watch the game, am more of a hockey and curling fan. But I know the pain of cheering for the underdog. And how did the dinner out go, patin ? Were you able to watch the game? How is the home planning, woodysbetty? Anyone get any scrapping done this past weekend? So far, I have done 7 pages. I signed up for LOAD over at ScrapHappy, but have submitted only one page over there. The reason I signed up is that LOAD is included in the membership and justjac talked me into (not much arm twisting required) the membership so that we can attend their reunion in Calgary this summer. Over here, I need to figure out my 28-4-28 lift for Friday's challenge. Will need to start thinking about it, b/c I have a day outing tomorrow, and physio on Wednesday. Waving hello to maribeth , knutschen , msliz , justlisa7 , joyfulnana, @elaynef, shinyhappytina, and any other Pokeys we have yet to hear from this month. Are you warm and dry? Are you crafting? Joined the February Teams? Making Valentines? Got a project on the go?

, you win with a foundation shift. Ouch. $$$$. Did you get to craft? grammadee , yes there is a concern of flooding due to the melting snow. You can keep your cold temp. I've been enjoying the warm up. We don't go below -14C in the next 10 days at farm or here. And averaging around -7C. so much better. I'm glad physio didn't leave you in a lot of pain. I love your snow pages, but quite frankly I am completely done with Snow anything at the moment! Comcast came to set up internet today, but their service is down. So he left a modem/router and had it hooked up, but couldn't get me to connect to the comcast system. I'll have to call later. If we get it up, then we'll all go back on the 9th. We have an outing that evening there. If not, the kids and I may take off tomorrow. DS has a live stream class on Wednesday and Thursday we have a Skype call with another teacher. Fingers crossed, we can get it up without the tech guy here. I'm still working on the kitchen. One cabinet can take 20 minutes minimum to longer, depending upon grease and nicotine, just to clean. Then I have to rinse, dry, wax, wait and buff. And today has gone much more slowly than it should with sore arms, the comcast guy, Don being back at work, etc. I'm going to head over to the team challenge and see how many pokeys are there.

Hello girls!! I hope everyone is having a great start to February. I didn't get to scrapbook this weekend as planned, but did play around a little with organizing still. My daughter has been very sick with bronchitis and I needed to watch the kids quite a bit so she could rest. She also just started EMT school, so this is hard raising 3 under 5 years old, going to school 3 long nights in a row and being so sick. We had a good time with boys. I just love being a grandma! I am hoping and planning to run to the grocery store after work quick, and then put dinner on and scrapbook this evening while watching tv. Been loving Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries on Netflix. I have my one daughter and mom watching is now too. So good. 1920's in Australia. I also started Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime which is also good. Anyways, planning on doing some challenges for February this evening - already pulled some stuff out last night. nylene - hoping things start to look up for you and your knees are doing better! grammadee - Glad your made your dr apt and made it to physio and completed your exercise too! Hope your knees get better too. Lovely snow layouts! LisaDV - maybe I missed it, but are you also painting your cabinets? When will you officially movie in or have you? Sorry, I must have missed that. joyfulnana - hope you got some scrapbooking done! Guess what? I broke my freeze for $9 exactly - buying 3 metal dies on AliExpress. I thought I had the word "love" but I did not have one metal die. I use that quite a bit and really wanted the FJ one for $24 plus shipping so badly, but at least I just bought the cheap ones on Ali Express. Anyways, back on the freeze. I seriously almost broke the freeze and ordered the FJ February kit and dies - that was going to be $71 with shipping - so at least $9 is better. Hoping everyone else is doing awesome too!!

Our snow didn't come yesterday, but may come tonight. My knees are less sore today. They would feel better if they weren't so swollen. I'm hoping that if I'm careful the swelling will go down. I try to keep them up as much as possible. grammadee, how do your knees feel today? Do they think the physio will heal them or will you be looking at surgery down the road? Thanks for all the challenges and ideas. It's fun to come here and be inspired to start scrapping. You have been such a great asset to this board!! justlisa7, I'm glad you had a great time with your grands. Isn't it just the BEST to be a grandma? I'm sorry your DD is ill. It sounds like she has her hands full. How I remember those days as a young mom. Congrats on staying pretty close to Frozen. I can't resist some of those Ali Express dies. When the tiny little packages quit coming my DH says, guess it's time to order more. He really enables me (and built me a BIG box for organizing them.) Hope you get to scrap tonight. Oh, LisaDV, you are such a worker. How I wish I had the energy to do more than a few things each day. Your cabinets will look so nice. I can't wait to see all the changes you make in the home. Congrats on the new pots and pans and refrigerator. Will you keep the old one as an extra? Be careful that you don't overdo. joyfulnana, did you get to scrap yesterday? I had the time, but took a nap part of the afternoon. I worked on a layout for a while last night. Hope you got to do a little creativity. kellyr21, what did you think of the Super Bowl? I hid out so I didn't have to hear it, but DH enjoyed it. He doesn't root for any particular team, but he was a coach right out of college, so likes watching plays, etc. I'm excited to see so many of you joining in the challenges. Be sure to post at least 4 of your projects here for a Pokey Peas point. Waving to each of you!!

I did get some crafting done. But I've figured out trying to watch Netflix while scrapbooking doesn't work lol. Once I switched to a podcast things were better. I'm almost finished with a 2 page layout which feels like such a relief to get something finished lol. I didn't watch the game, but did keep an eye on the score. Once I saw it was still 3-0 at the half, I was really glad I didn't watch. I'm sorry the Rams lost kellyr21 - it seemed like the Patriots did to the Rams what they did to the Chiefs in the first half and then the defense was worn out by the 4th quarter. Maybe next year we will get that Rams/ Chiefs SB grammadee I wish I could 7 pages done in a weekend! That's incredible to me! I have often thought about signing up for LOAD but I know I wouldn't get anywhere near all the prompts done. Maybe I should try 28-4-28 instead. But from what I've heard about LOAD, the prompts are great and people tell a lot of stories they wouldn't have to otherwise. That's the biggest draw for me I think. LisaDV I hope you get your Internet up and running so you don't have to make another trip! I'm glad things are warming up for you too. We are back in the freezer here again, but just the normal freezer, not the polar one lol. Cleaning cupboards and trying to get the nicotine stench out doesn't sound like much fun, but I'll bet it's going to be so worth it when you are done with everything. justlisa7 , $9 vs $71 is a pretty big deal! And going two months is too. At least for me it is. I've seen things I want, but I don't have an immediate use for them, so I'm just shopping my stash full of things I had to have I agree being a Grandma is the BEST!! Your daughter is lucky to live close enough that you can spend time with the grands, and help her out while she's sick. nylene I hope your knees start feeling better soon. Does the weather affect them at all? My youngest had both knees replaced when he was 18 and he can feel it anytime there is a shift in the weather. I have one that aches off and on and I feel like it's tied to the weather as well. I should have something to post this month. Off to see what everyone has been doing and leave some love!

Hi Everyone!! Kind of interesting to be living in a place where 50 degrees is really cold to people...activities are canceled and folks stay in! I am told I will feel the same next year...we'll see!! But my heart goes out to all of you cold, snowy folk!! LisaDV glad you made the drive safely, yikes does moving ever get easier? But it sounds like your appliance package may make it q little more fun. I have found that placing bowls of vinegar around rooms helps to dissipate the smell of smoking... kellyr21 watched the Superbowl..I think the Rams did great considering the young quarterback...but I was really hoping for a different result!! grammadee our move is progressing well, we actually have a closing date of May 8th on the new house so we are excited... Love the layout with the snowcave...that expression is priceless! I actually found a cropper group and a stamper group here and will stop in to meet other crafters this week which I hope will make having my stuff packed a bit easier. Happy Tuesday to everyone and a big warm hug from Florida!!

justlisa7, I really liked Jack Ryan. I'm so sorry your dd is sick. Sick, school and kids is a lot. She is very lucky to have you. Don will officially stay here. But the kids and I have appointments all through February that require us at the farm. Since we're keeping the farm too, it's not a rush, rush. We'll be back to work through March and most of April. I'm getting mostly new for this house since we got rid of our seconds when we went down to just the farm. The farm furniture is not really right for this house. DD is taking a cast iron bed that was extra at the farm. We aren't sure if DS is getting new or taking his farm set. Its newer and nice so it could come. Unfortunately between my indecisiveness, $$, and wanting to get it right, my family may be living the very minimalist lifestyle for a while. Although the dogs have loved having the space to play. Also, I am not painting the cabinets. nylene, are you laying down with your legs up or just sitting with your legs up? Are you now considering the surgery more as sooner than later, or still hoping to postpone. My SIL's mom had it done and she had nothing but good things to say. I'm glad you got some crafty time. My old pots and pans will stay at the farm. Don's trying to cancel the refrigerator order. I really like the one here. I could use the $$ to replace the dishwasher or stove instead. But it may have been too late. Or just put in a second stove. I'd be okay with that too. joyfulnana, I'm glad you found time to scrap. I find I can only do lighthearted movies or shows that I've seen a zillion times while crafting. Otherwise I spend more time watching or rewinding to watch. woodysbetty, my fil is a snowbird. He sent the "it's only 50 degrees with no sun, but at least it stopped raining" post to the family group text during the polar vortex. Most of the family is in Chicago which was colder than us, so needless to say, he got no sympathy. I haven't tried the vinegar for the nicotine smell, but I've been diffusing citrus essential oil which is suppose to help as well. It's not nearly as bad smelling since the door was left open for 2 days. But now there are spots that have pet urine smell, so I need to research how to get that out. I thought vinegar was for that as well. That's so exciting that you've met some crafting groups! Do they meet monthly? kellyr21, have you started your canvases? Internet is now working! You can tell a difference in the cabinet work. If only slightly. I should be finished by tomorrow. (I'd really like to say today, but just don't know if that's possible for 49 year old me.) When I'm finished I'm going to start wall paper removal which I find oddly satisfying if it comes off as well as past wallpaper removal jobs. Off to start my work day.

Thanks, ladies. My "special day" has been cancelled due to weather. -38C with a bit of a wind means wind chills of -44C. Fehrenheit or Celcius, either way that is a VERY COLD DAY. We were supposed to go on a seniors' bus to the new museum in Edmonton, but that has been postponed until next week. Because we were going to be away today, no cake had been ordered, and our family birthday supper had already been planned for Saturday the 9th, so I guess it will stay there.
So... back to the scrap counter...

Our big storm came in last night. We were hearing about 2 separate 15 car pile-ups, each involving 5 semi-trailers that tied up the roads north and south of us. At that time we didn't have a drop of snow. During the night we did get some, but only about 6-8 inches here, much more all around us. We are bordered by the mountain on the East and the lake on the West and we tend to get very funky "lake-effect "weather. patin , I agree with you that I could never cope with the temps and snow that grammadee does. Are you scrapping today? justlisa7 , congrats on getting some pages done. I look forward to seeing them posted. I am hoping for an hour or so to scrap later today. I know I will never be able to keep up with the 28-4-28, but I love the challenges. kellyr21 , are you going to the crafty group this week? Waving to all the Pokeys!! ETA: I somehow missed your post, woodysbetty. That cropping, stamping group sounds like fun. How often do they meet? Glad you are getting settled in that nice warm weather.

justlisa7, congrats on getting some crafty time. Does that mean dd is feeling a bit better? nylene, that's a scary situation. Glad you didn't have to be on the roads. I have done nothing today. I updated the computer - does that count as something? and a few small things like deodorize carpets and put in shelf liner, but nothing hard. So I feel completely and totally lazy. I'm even debating just having soup and sandwiches for dinner because I'm that lazy. we had a horrible thunderstorm last night. In a new house and you have to get use to the sound of the rain hitting differently. Our lab mix is super scared of storms, so she got between Don & I and trembled. Poor thing. Thunderstorms in February, though. Crazy weather. I just checked all the lovelies shared in the team challenges. I haven't even had a chance to check the 28-4-28 which I hope to do once I get back to the farm and my wonderful desktop, as well as create some pages for them. I'm off to fiddle around with something else or maybe just go relax - won't know until it happens today. lol
