I tried it about a week ago. I was pretty impressed. I've done a few different meal box subscriptions, and my issues tend to be:
the stuff arriving wet and/or warm and not being able to pick the delivery day I want and not a lot of food for the $.
I was able to choose Monday delivery, the food arrived beautifully packaged and nice and cold. I was really impressed with how fresh and tasty everything is. No frozen stuff in my box-all fresh. I think it's a good option if you are someone like me-you want to eat more vegetarian meals, don't really want to invest a lot of time and effort to find and test new vegetarian recipes, and want to lose some weight at the same time. I've found they provide enough food for two people, whereas some subscriptions were pretty stingy about portion sizes(I got the medium box which is 3-5 meals for two people)my husband has a healthy appetite too, and he agreed there was enough food for two.
my favorite part was the desserts. they sent vegan black bean brownie batter and vegan almond cookie dough. I was expecting something tolerable, but not really enjoyable. These were legitimately good! I'm not going to lie and say it was better than my homemade cookies, but it was really good. I also really liked that all the meals could be put together in about 10 minutes. they provided a little booklet with instructions or you can go online to see how to prepare. You can suspend deliveries easily, and the site is easy to navigate and use. I don't think this is something I will do forever, but it's a good way for me to try some vegetarian (they do have some meals with meat, which is nice, the main focus is vegetarian and vegan dishes)dishes and get a sense for the kinds of things I like while adjusting to a more plant centric diet.
Below is a referral link. You get up to $30 off your first box, and I get $15 in my hungryroot account. If that bums you out, don't use the referral link
