Good for him. Im sure they've screwed over plenty of people who don't have the money to fight them. I think maybe they didn't realize the extent of his resources

Good. I like the way he's been handling the National Enquirer stuff, both when they were about to publish the affair, and now.

I think maybe they didn't realize the extent of his resources The money sure helps but he feels he can live with the total exposure and the consequences. Good. I like the way he's been handling the National Enquirer stuff, both when they were about to publish the affair, and now. Absolutely! ETA: I certainly, sure he did, hope he has discussed his decision with his family and very close friends, because they well have to deal with his decision too.

What they didn’t know is that he’d rather be publicly embarrassed than kowtow to their threats and have this hanging over him forever.

I believe it is far better to live w/exposure vs. be blackmailed over something I've done.
Either way, you've done something worth blackmailing you over, but one way it's open and you declaw the extortioners. The other you live in fear your whole life and you pay dearly to the extortioners at the same time.

Also, if they can hack Bezos' information, they can hack anyone's.
Guy runs AWS - a backbone of internet cloud services and hires literally the best and highest paid security people in the world. Yet, they got his texts and pix.
What do you think they've hacked on Graham, Cruz, Mitch, and the rest of the GOP to keep them in line behind their buddy Donald.

I’d bet that it wasn’t a hack, at least not of him. I think it is most likely it was someone who works/worked for him and had access to his phone or someone with access to her phone. Or they hacked her devices.

Here's what the Post says, but who knows. It could be disinformation to hide a hack. As a user of AWS, I wouldn't want to hear that Bezos can be hacked. It will seriously affect the reliability of the massive cloud services that make Amazon billions/year. "Bezos’s longtime private security consultant, Gavin de Becker, has concluded that the billionaire was not hacked. Rather, de Becker said in an interview, the Enquirer’s scoop about Bezos’s relationship with former TV anchor Lauren Sanchez began with a “politically motivated” leak meant to embarrass the owner of The Post — an effort potentially involving several important figures in Trump’s 2016 campaign. As the Daily Beast first reported last week, de Becker has publicly named only one subject of his investigation, Michael Sanchez, Lauren’s brother and a pro-Trump Hollywood talent manager who is also an acquaintance of provocative Trump backers Roger Stone and Carter Page.... In the aftermath of the Enquirer story, Sanchez offered a variety of theories to explain how texts between Bezos and his sister made their way to the tabloid, including spying by foreign governments, rival tech companies or “deep state” actors within the U.S. government, according to a compilation of emails between Sanchez and de Becker that were provided to The Post. " www.washingtonpost.com/politics/was-tabloid-expose-of-bezos-affair-just-juicy-gossip-or-a-political-hit-job/2019/02/05/03d2f716-2633-11e9-90cd-dedb0c92dc17_story.htmlThese were after the first round of texts, not the dickpix.

Bezos is ‘hiding’ an affair which has already been publicized. Sure I’m sure there’s some embarrassing content out there.
The other side the rabbit hole is kinda endless, crimes, espionage, political fallout, the possibilities are astounding.
This is one game of chicken that’s could be very interesting and I’m NOT talking about ‘below the belt’ pictures

The original texts (that exposed the affair) were made public, in the Enquirer. brobible.com/culture/article/jeff-bezos-lauren-sanchez-texts/This round hasn't yet.

ps - give me real-looking Mackenzie any day over filler-injected Lauren. Men. Idiots. Not to mention Mackenzie worked and grew Amazon w/him for 24 years. Another fun fact.... The Bezos' own 16% of Amazon. Vanguard and Blackrock own about 5% each. If the banks vote together they can override Jeff or Mackenzie voting alone. Hope the affair was worth it, Jeff.

I just can't get over the fact that dude's name is David Pecker. One would think that after the Anthony Wiener affair, it'd be obvious to those who are unfortunately named after genitals to avoid any scandal having to do with genitalia whether their own or someone else's...
I'm always happy to see blackmail attempts fail - good for Bezos for stepping up and saying "yeah? so what? oh and by the way, I hope you obtained all your 'information' legally" Not so good for him for screwing around on his wife - not that I'm surprised, seems par for the course for rich/powerful men. I hope his wife gets everything that she's owed.

David Pecker is VERY good friends with trump. Coincidence? I think not. trump is known for seeking revenge and he hates The Washington Post. Team Jeff!
