JoAnn's customer service finally responded with the differences between the 2 Gemini Junior listings. Hope this will help other peas!
Article 15965304 - Gemini Jr. Multi-Media Machine - does have everything listed below in it. That comes from the manufacturer that way: 6 Thin metal cutting dies, 1 3D Embossing Folder 2 Clear cutting plates 1 Metal Cutting Plate 1 Magnetic Shim 1 Plastic Shim 1 Rubber Embossing Mat Article 16426637 - Crafters Companion Gemini Junior Starter Kit Bundle - also has everything above PLUS 1 magnetic shim ( for a total of 2 ) and 1 cutting plate (for a total of 2 each). So the bundle ( 16426637 ) has 2 more items in it than the 15965304.

Not sure if it was the starter kit or just the Gemini jr, but our JoAnn's has them at the front by the registers for $99. They have been up there since before Christmas.

If I buy this Do I need to purchase anything else to go with it? I am so clueless. My local JoAnn's has the Gemini Jr. behind the counter for $99.99. It includes a set of metal dies (Opulent Swirls), a 3D embossing folder, two clear cutting plates (top and bottom for the die), rubber embossing mat, plastic shim, metal cutting shim, and a magnetic shim. My guess is that you can get by with two plastic cutting plates, but sometimes you need additional shims with dies that are thin. The rubber embossing mat is needed if you use embossing plates and the magnetic shim helps with not needing to use washi tape if you are cutting out a stamp with a matching die.

What makes the full size better than say my Big Shot?

What makes the full size better than say my Big Shot? The jr is about the size of a big shot. The full size is going to run grand caliber dies. If you get the big and buy the jr plates, you can save use on the big plates by running the jr plates through it sideways. The full size has about 2x the cutting space but isn't 2x the footprint. I got it for easier mass production as my kids have more projects I can help with at school plus I have one lone set of grands dies that I can't use the largest sizes of in my big kick. I figured I would rather have a cutting surface that wasn't already comparable to what I owned, even if the other reasons didn't convince me. The go is too pricey in my opinion. It is similar to the small spellbinders machine...just electric. I think it can also be used with a usb (I don't recall if it has a battery or not) so you can take it to crops easier than the larger 2. The small spellbinders one I have isn't nearly as exhausting to crank the way my big kick is when mass producing, so I don't personally find the go a necessary tool.

Joann.com the machine only is like 199.99, but the bundle with an extra plate and the pokey tool for intricate dies is 131.27 or thereabouts. The junior bundle is 99.89. Both machines have free shipping.

I received my Gemini from Joann's last night. Sadly, it was a machine in a box (the retail packaging) in a box (fit the machine box perfectly with a shipping label from notions) in a box (with lost of filler to keep things still in transit) but the bundle pieces were missing. While I'm disappointed, I'm not totally heartbroken about it because I know Joann's customer service is amazing to deal with. I called and offered up my solutions since they sell the bundled items (for the full size machine it was the spellbinders tool n one and a 3rd plate beyond the 2 that come with the machine) of refunding me the retail cost of those items (they can't send things for free, so when they screw up, they have to refund and resend...they can adjust prices, but apparently not to 0) and then replacing them with a new order. One suggestion I made because the plate and the tool n one are the same price was to send out 2 plates. While I do plan on trying the cutting mats in my Gemini (I hear the pressure in the machine is top notch which means plates warp and break faster...they warp almost immediately...it could also be that they are using a lower quality acrylic, but either way, my YouTube research on the machine shows that there is a ton of warping that goes on with the plates), it would be nice to have multiple extra plates. The lady was perfectly fine in doing that for me and processed it without issue.
The alternative on their end would probably have been to ship the machine back and reorder the bundle for the sale price and that would have been just a monumental headache because the machines are really expensive to ship and I didn't pay shipping for the machine...then to return it would be on their dime and sending out the (no guarantee to be right the 2nd time, either) replacement bundle would also be their cost. Thankfully they were more than happy to take my suggestions and there was no need for a supervisor hold or anything.
I know joann.com can be slow to ship and ship the slowest methods possible, but their customer service is truly top notch. The only issues I've ever had with customer service is in store. Their online people are just fantastic.

I sent Joanns an email asking the difference between two of the models & what they came with since they were on sale. It took them five days to respond and the response was to call the store and find out. Even though the merchandise said online only. So I missed out on the sale needless to say.
