So how many of you have found some amazing things due to the Marie Kondo clean up? I can honestly say I haven't been to any stores since the purge began but I did visit a Flea Market coop type of place yesterday and scored a brand new Yeti mug identical to the one I have for $5. Grabbed that quick seeing a new cover, which I need on mine, sells for $5.
My regular auction house opens back up for the season the first Saturday in March so that it something to look forward to.

I scored neckties for my teen. They are brand new, nice quality. They were marked 5/$1 !😁
I spent a whole $3! Fifteen different ties ranging in shades of reds, blues, golds, browns, greens, and maroons.

The cashier asked me if I was going to sew them together to make a vest or a quilt. My teen takes business classes and is part of a business people club at school. I bought the the ties to add great variety to the small collection they had. LOL, they will actually use the ties as ties.

I haven't set foot in a thrift store all month because I've been sick. Today is my first day back out in the world and I may stop by since I'll be in that area. Sometimes I find great stuff after taking a break, so maybe that will happen this time. @lavenderlady - That's an awesome price on ties. Our thrift charges a minimum of $2 per tie! A couple of years ago they always had big bundles of ties in sealed bags in the fabric department for $5-10 that the crafters would buy. They no longer do that. Not sure if they don't get as many ties donated now or what. I have a bunch of DH's old ties set back for a craft project at some point, probably a pillow.

Went to two consignment store last week. My only purchase was a dark red Coach bag for $30. It matches a raincoat I won at Dillards over Christmas so I was very pleased.

I stopped by goodwill today . They were very busy and the shelves were full plus but the quality seemed about 5he same.
. Furniture area was almost empty.
Lots of men shopping for clothes. I didn't find anything but didn't have anything in mind I wanted either. .

I've been a few times in the past two weeks, both to my usual store and the one in neighboring town. Our area must be ignoring Tidying! The quantity and quality seem lower than before the holidays, and overall lower than usual. We normally have great stores, I'm not sure what's going on!

I’ve been out a few times this month and have found:
- two framed embroideries... one is a little girl holding a basket of kittens, and the other is a Jacobian style floral piece. - a pile of men’s and ladies vintage handkerchiefs, which I actually use - bright vintage floral pillow cases in almost new/unused condition - long vintage apron with a bright floral print - a small (5x7) embroidery of a house that will fill in a small spot going up my stairs

I got this little beauty today at a local store called Scrap, they sell all sorts of random items that would normally end up in a dumpster, a lot of teachers and people who craft shop there. I also got a ton of Sassafras Lass, Basic Grey, Scenic Route and Cosmo Cricket papers for 10 cents a sheet. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt9sNujjRUA Sorry, I don’t know how to make the picture just show up here. I will keep trying.

All of the GW and SA thrift stores around here charge $4-$5 per tie! I went to the synagogue thrift shop and they had a laundry basket full of ties with the 5/$1 tag on it. I even had to ask first before I pick me through them, because it seemed too good to be true.

Two Chico’s tops at a consignment store for $17 each. Ties are always at least $1 and $2 around here at the thrift stores.

I have been looking for a long camel coat. Found a beautiful wool blend coat in my size at a consignment store. Looked brand new. Classic, tailored, double breasted, fully lined, and the long length I had been searching for. It was marked down to $12 (found it online originally $279). Only catch was it was a Long Tall Sally coat and the sleeves went past my fingertips. Having them tailored for $30. So I was thrilled that for $42, I have my perfect, classic coat that will hopefully last me a long time.

found a set of clear bottom, nesting Pyrex mixing bowls in primary colors- blue, yellow and red. The largest is about 10" across and was $1.69. The smallest was 69 cents and the medium was somewhere in between- $1.29(?) I haven't decided if keep, offer to DD or sell but I like them... Monica* your coat sounds awesome but it hurts my selfish heart. Me and my kids always need l o n g e r sleeves so to hear some being shortened is counter intuitive, to me. Nice find though! PLurker I know! I usually struggle with sleeve and pant length too. I think because this was from a specialty store catering to very tall women (like over 6 ft in many cases judging from the comments) that the sleeves were extra long -- 28 inches.

We have a salvage shop run by Purdue and they had all of their chairs for $1! I got a nice looking one with nailhead details and a nice neutral fabric. Needs some cleaning and maybe some new stain, but for $1.....

I finally have a thrift find to share! I haven't been in a couple of weeks and decided to stop by my favorite shop yesterday. It seems taking a break seems to bring out the good stuff for me! Here's what I found:
* 1.5 yards white on white print cotton quilting fabric ($2). I always need white fabrics when quilting and this is a nice print and quality. * 6 yards of vintage Laura Ashley cotton fabric, printed in the UK ($12). I've always been a LA fanatic and this is a cute print of blue bows and yellow flowers on a white background. *A vintage wool kit from Curlew Weavers in Wales ($10). One side of the kit has a gorgeous blue tweed fabric, lining and a zipper for a skirt. The other side has a blue heathered wool yarn (500 gms) that I guess was meant to knit a sweater.
All of this is going into my stash. Not sure what I'll do with the yarn, but was thinking I might make a shawl. Will try to add photos later today.

Here are some of my recent finds... Vintage clock for my collection and like-new men’s shirt to save for a quilting project. The paintings/embroideries I’ve collected so far this year. I need to plan a hanging day soon, but might be at the point where I need to swap out some pieces for others. I find it a huge undertaking! Also, I grabbed some vintage vinyl the other day... my whole reason for having a turn table is to listen to cheesey music no one else wants! http://instagram.com/p/BuRNs7cnKgI http://instagram.com/p/BuWaLWpH57b http://instagram.com/p/BuOxMSPnfCY

Found a great garment bag--very similar to the one we gave away a few yrs ago as 'we never use it'--$4.99! And two unopened jigsaw puzzles--one is a Thomas Kinkaide scene. The other does not appear to be what the box indicates--the pieces are in a new, sealed plastic bag, but we can see the colors on the pieces do not match the puzzle box. Just makes it more challenging!

I have been to most of my local thrift stores looking for old water skis for a Pintrest project. My 3rd stop I was going though purses and found an LL Bean medium boat and tote, Cinda B purse the style I prefer and a KAVAU wallet. All were in good to excellent shape and I paid $16.75!!! They made up for the pair of water skis I missed Saturday morning.

Went to a new to me auction a couple weeks ago. Totally different way they auction stuff in that the auctioneer goes around the room as opposed to standing up front with the items. What makes it hard is that you can't always see what they are offering up to bid on. I guess each table was a different consignor. Regardless of how it was sold I was able to get some great deals.
So after everyone bids on what is on the table, starting at $5, they drop down to starting at $2 bids then $1. After that they offer the entire table. Because you can't see everything all the time it's hard to remember what else was on the table to say what you wanted to bid on. I was able to get a ton of stuff on one table for $1. My son was happy, I picked up 3 hockey pucks. That alone was worth the $1. Pucks tend to go into the tall grass when they skate on the pond and loose them. I'll probably offer up a bunch of the other stuff on my local free board. I could try and sell it at this summer's tag sale but I don't don't like selling stuff under $1. Takes up too much table space. For stuff that no one takes they put the leftovers on a table and anyone can take the stuff. I picked up a box of christmas lights for free, about 10 sets, all work. Set of 8 campaign glasses brand new. Can't wait for the next one.

I posted this picture on Instagram of what I found this morning at a local thrift store where all proceeds go to the women's shelter. I got an owl themed necklace for 50 cents, a gold and silver link belt for $1.50 and 5 Southern Living at Home bowls for $1 each. Instagram photo

Today I stopped at a thrift store and found daughter some dishes. I was looking at the wedding dresses for the fabric and they wanted $300 for them.
