This made my blood run cold. I am an atheist but I can and do respect the Bible. This disgusted me. Agreed. I don't think anyone who sees the Bible as a holy book would agree to autograph it. Trump's a phony.

This made my blood run cold. He's in deep with the Evangelicals.... They support him for some illogical reason! Oh I know he is and you’re right it’s completely illogical. It would just never occur to me to ask someone to sign my Bible. It’s an offensive thought to me. And it seems cultish.

Moreover, she reflects an intolerant impulse among Democratic leftists to purge the party of moderate heretics. After 26 of her fellow House members voted with Republicans to make it harder for undocumented immigrants to purchase guns, AOC threatened to put them "on a list" for primary challenges. "Since when is it OK to put you on a Nixonian list?" Rep. Josh Gottheimer of New Jersey, co-chair of the centrist Problem Solvers Caucus, protested in the Post. "We need to have a big tent in our party, or we won't keep the House or win the White House." It is not ok... Suggested punishment is not the answer!! That's dt's game! That said, Democrats cannot capture the presidency or either branch of Congress by lurching leftward. A candidate in the AOC/BS mold would be a hero in New York, California and Massachusetts -- and a disaster in states like Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, which handed Trump the presidency in 2016 and will be critical again next year. Ed Rendell, the former governor of Pennsylvania, stressed this point to The New York Times:👉🏻 "The more we have presidential candidates or newly elected congresspeople talking about the Green New Deal, talking about 'Medicare-for-all,' talking about socialism, the more that plays into the Trump campaign's hands."👈🏻 Christopher Borick, a political scientist at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, added: "If you want to lock up Pennsylvania for a Democrat, the more moderate Democrats are the key."........ That's why Democrats should be focusing on the next election, not impeachment. No president has ever been removed through impeachment (although Richard Nixon probably would have been the first, had he not resigned). The bar is and should be "very high." But denying a president a second term through the ballot box is quite common, and in fact happened three times in five elections between 1976 and 1992. That bar is much lower and well within the reach of Democrats if they can avoid the mythmaking of leftists like AOC and BS and focus on political reality.” So very true!

There is a consolidation of wealth that is the root of too much suffering and deficiency. We cannot just move forward w/"normal" programs like apprenticeships (which are GREAT!) and expect that to fix the problems we have made over decades of accumulating more and more wealth on one side and more and more misery on the other. People are broken. They have difficulty raising their kids to do better, getting an education and moving forward. They truly do need a hand up, not a handout! Some people will never make it although many of them will try if given a hand.

“For some, work in the new economy is richly rewarded. But for most—white, black, Hispanic and Asian—it’s a painful struggle. Globalization has outsourced good-paying jobs. Technology has replaced workers. Systemic racism devastates communities of color. Unionization has shrunk. Capital is hard to come by. Skills don’t match available jobs. Wages are stuck. Health care is too expensive. And traditional pensions have vanished. In short, America has an opportunity crisis—except for those in the “right” zip code, with the “right” degree, and who are lucky enough to avoid discrimination. To turn that around, Democrats should focus on using government to expand opportunity, with new ideas to ensure that everyone, everywhere has a shot at earning a good life where they live.” First, let me remind you that I said this third way has identified some of the problems facing the workers in this country. Everybody has the ability to succeed, if they are given the tools to do it with. That is why I believe in three words. Education, skills, and opportunity. I called out the provision I had issue with. The others I don't have issues with. But as for our fundamental difference. The bold above is it. Do you volunteer at adult disability day centers? Do you spend time around the homeless? Because I have. Do you see how many are utterly without ability to "make it" - due to mental and emotional deficiencies? We are GENERATIONS in to an economy that breaks people. We might be able to get out of it - but only after many more generations of funding childhood education, nutrition, mental health, etc. For years when walking to the office and leaving the office I walked by the same group of homeless people. One was a guy that stood against the wall of a building, in the same place, moving from foot to foot with a new pair of tennis shoes, tied together by the shoelaces, slung over his shoulder. He was so well known in the SF Financial District, that when he died, there was a notice in the newspaper. Then there was the lady who had the dog named Jazz. One day the SF Police took the dog away from her and she just cried and cried. Couple of days later she had a cat. Just before I retired, there was a homeless person in line ahead of me buying something. He was having a hard time finding the money. I was just getting ready to offer to pay for it, when he found the money. When. I left the store, he was sitting on the ground right outside the door so out of curiosity, I glanced over to see what he bought, and he noticed and covered it up because I guess he thought I was going to take it from him. I don’t know how many times I walked by and tried to figure out how, we as a society, could help these folks. Never could come up with a way. Gavin Newsom , when he became mayor of SF, had these big plans to solve the homeless problem, but yet all these years later it still exists. He spent a fair amount of money on his plans if I remember correctly. Its not like one can just sweep them up and put them someplace, and the reason is because they have rights. Rights that have to be respected and protected. There is also the problem of NIMBY. In a city close to mine, they came up with this idea to build a bunch of tiny houses for the homeless and put them on city owned land. Then they would have the various agencies work with these folks to get them the help they needed to get them off the streets permanently. When the neighbors found out these tiny homes and occupants would be in their neighborhood. Well let’s just say in the end it didn’t happen. So I don’t need to work in a shelter to understand the problem. Having said that, you are taking the bit about “everybody” too literally. They are in fact two separate issues. Both are important, and for both we need solutions. In this case, Third Way was talking about those with the ability, but need the skills and opportunity to succeed. Just like that saying “all the money in the world won’t make you happy”, all the money in the world won’t resolve these issues. Consider the amount of money states, cities and counties have spent on the homeless over the decades, and yet it’s still hear today. So is it the lack of money or the lack of viable solutions the reason homelessness still exists? Instead of demanding more money, we should be asking is the money being spent now, being spent wisely, where we get the most bang for our buck. Or do we adopte the plan of throwing money at the problems and hoping somehow something might work? Because you know, there is all that money in the wrong hands. Then you have the problem of getting everybody to fall in line. There are states like CA that do try and resolve the issues, the state is not always successful, but it does try. And then you have states that look for ways to kick people off Medicaid among other things. So what are you going to do about them? I want all these problems solved, for all Americans, in all the states. But so far what I’m hearing from the far left is tax the hell out of the rich, corporations are bad, and vague ideas and how to resolve these issues. I want more, I want a plan that will work. I should not be alone in demanding this. Third Way offered possible solutions with substance. For one of the pressing problems at least.

I am really not sure which is more disgusting to me... people wanting his autograph on a holy book or him actually doing it. And is such a “tasteful” way. I could maybe see someone asking a respected clergy member to write a small prayer or blessing inside the cover but that giant sharpie scribble on the cover makes me shudder.

"The House on Friday passed legislation that would require presidents to disclose their tax returns, as Democrats have made obtaining President Trump’s tax returns one of their top priorities. The tax return disclosure requirement was included in House Democrats’ wide-ranging election reform bill, known as H.R. 1, which passed on a party-line vote of 234-193. H.R. 1 is not expected to receive a vote in the Republican-controlled Senate." thehill.com/policy/finance/433221-house-passes-bill-to-require-presidents-to-disclose-their-tax-returnsI'm sure Mitch will bring it to a vote right after the campaign finance bill and the gun safety bill.

"The latest Trump political donor to draw controversy is Li Yang, a 45-year-old Florida entrepreneur from China who founded a chain of spas and massage parlors that included the one where New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft was recently busted for soliciting prostitution. She made the news this week when the Miami Herald reported that last month she had attended a Super Bowl viewing party at Donald Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club and had snapped a selfie with the president during the event. Though Yang no longer owns the spa Kraft allegedly visited, the newspaper noted that other massage parlors her family runs have “gained a reputation for offering sexual services.” (She told the newspaper she has never violated the law.) Beyond this sordid tale, there is another angle to the strange story of Yang: She runs an investment business that has offered to sell Chinese clients access to Trump and his family. And a website for the business—which includes numerous photos of Yang and her purported clients hobnobbing at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private club in Palm Beach—suggests she had some success in doing so. Yang, who goes by Cindy, and her husband, Zubin Gong, started GY US Investments LLC in 2017. The company describes itself on its website, which is mostly in Chinese, as an “international business consulting firm that provides public relations services to assist businesses in America to establish and expand their brand image in the modern Chinese marketplace.” But the firm notes that its services also address clients looking to make high-level connections in the United States. On a page displaying a photo of Mar-a-Lago, Yang’s company says its “activities for clients” have included providing them “the opportunity to interact with the president, the [American] Minister of Commerce and other political figures.” The company boasts it has “arranged taking photos with the President” and suggests it can set up a “White House and Capitol Hill Dinner.” (The same day the Herald story about Yang broke, the website stopped functioning.) Having anyone “autograph” a Bible seems like a golden calf biblical moment to me. I guess the furor over the Beatles being bigger then Jesus was misplaced, they should have been autographing Bibles! (Can you imagine??)

linkCompare what President Obama said in his speech on Wednesday to this latest story from Mother Jones and you have yet another reason why trump should not have become president. “A Florida Massage Parlor Owner Has Been Selling Chinese Execs Access to Trump at Mar-a-Lago”From the article.. ”The latest Trump political donor to draw controversy is Li Yang, a 45-year-old Florida entrepreneur from China who founded a chain of spas and massage parlors that included the one where New England Patriots owner Bob Kraft was recently busted for soliciting prostitution. ”Border Patrol and Law Enforcement has apprehended (captured) large numbers of illegal immigrants at the Border. They won’t be coming into the U.S. The Wall is being built and will greatly help us in the future, and now!”
Rompted this from Hart Hanson
”Whoever wrote this tweet for President Rump made sure to define the biggest word so he'd understand it.”

Nineteen days after Trump and Yang posed together while rooting for the Patriots, authorities would charge Kraft with soliciting prostitution at a spa in Jupiter that Yang had founded more than a decade earlier.”And... ”In a brief phone interview, Yang said she and her family have never broken the law, but did not answer questions about whether she knew of the allegations that therapists in her spas were offering sex. She added that she was out of the business, would soon be moving to Washington, D.C., and didn’t want any negative press.” What cabinet position will she be getting? Health and Human Services? 😂😂😂😂😂

To all those debating dt's using the wrong names. Another thing involved is that people who do that, do not care about you or your name. You are nothing to them.Although I do think dt does have cognitive issues. Another thing he does is constantly repeating things, like he is trying to sear them into his mind... but also to remember what he will say next. he is both careless and couldn't care less.
