I don’t mind them but I think it would be smart if they wouldn’t put it on political news channels like the one place we were at...a huge argument broke out and people were asked to leave. Granted I think a business should be able to put on whatever they want and adults behave accordingly but this was just setting up a fight waiting to happen. Now that I might find entertaining!

It seems like all the Dr offices I've been in for the past several years the TV is muted and subtitles are on. Which irritates me if I'm interested in the show because even with my glasses, it's usually too far away to read them.
My kids like to eat at Chili's and they have multiple TV's in the restaurant area, all tuned to a different sport/game. So we all have a view of something different. It makes for interesting table conversation.

TVs everywhere irritate the crap out of me. A Sports Bar, fine. Tv is expected, but it seems that you cant go anywhere without a tv, including the dentist and the gas pump.

I don't like it loud and actually I don't like it at all. I would prefer it just be silent. Of course then I'm going to be mad that people don't turn off the volume or key touch beep on the phone. Guess I'll never be happy

Hate them. Especially the screechy talking women shows.

My car dealership also has three TVs in the waiting area, each set to a different channel. More than once have I had to wait and be subjected to not only the sound of three different TV stations, but also at least one other customer's loud cell phone conversations, or whatever you tube videos he or she was watching on their device. On the same note, it drives me crazy that restaurants also seem to have TVs everywhere. I just came back from a 5 week vacation in Europe, and it was so nice to not have to worry about the TV's blaring everywhere. What is wrong with just having a nice quiet meal without any distractions? I don't need background noise everywhere, all the time. UGH!

YES! TVs in general in public places annoy the crap out of me. I don't need to watch tv 24/7, so why does every restaurant, office, gym, etc have the stupid TVs. And they are either tuned to sports or news.

The last restaurant I was at, the TV was showing a bowling tournament. Does anyone really want to watch that?

I rarely turn my TV on at home, so I do find it annoying that they are everywhere out in public. Very low volume or subtitles are preferable; the blaring ones are aggravating.

Why do medical offices always have The View and Fox News? Drives me crazy. I always see Fox News (the gym) and the Doctors. I found a new gym. If I went into a Dr's office that had FOX News on the tv, I would leave. There is no way anyone who watches that or puts it on in their waiting room is qualified to handle my healthcare. I would not risk it.

A local company that I have to go to often has a large TV in the waiting room that is on those daytime shows all day. Argggg.

The noise level is my vent. Anyone who has headaches/concussion related issues knows what I'm talking about. Boarding airplanes, stores, places in general with overhead music just too loud. Very inconsiderate IMO. This is becoming more and more of a problem for me, too. I just can't take noise. My dad has always been noise-sensitive (I got it from him, I'm sure) but since he's had brain cancer for the past several years, he can hardly bear TVs, music or loud conversation out in public. He wears noise-canceling headphones much of the time when he's out. I suspect this will be in my future, too. (The headphones, not the cancer, God forbid.)

I find them a little entertaining, if it's daytime TV which I rarely see. It's like a glimpse into another world--the world of people who are home during the day. Soap operas, game shows... they sort of take me back to my time in college, which was the last period of my life I had that type of schedule.
I haven't encountered any that were terribly loud, though. That would bother me.

If there must be TV(s), I'd prefer a nature/travel program on mute with subtitles.
Even a Disney movie would be better than Fox or one of the other talk/shout programs.

I don't like them either. My father's urologist office kept their TV's to CBS all day so we had to watch game shows in the morning. Daddy liked it since he loved The Price is Right but that even louder show that came on before Price is Right was too much for me.

My dentist always has the Food Network channel on. Now, I avoid eating much the day I have a dentist appointment. I don't want to have food particles in my teeth or major bad breath, you know? So, of course I'm hungry as all get-out on dentist day. Watching food being prepared for a half hour in the waiting room is pure torture.
Then I'm grumpy from hunger teased and my stomach growls - LOUDLY - the whole time I'm in the chair.
Ugh.
Show a murder mystery, a game show, the weather...anything but food!
