Our Philips Sonicare Flexcare died. It was my favorite toothbrush with an attached sanitizer. Hubby says we aren't buying Philips brand again because they just don't last. This one was probably 3 years old. My dentist still sells Sonicare everything and he usually has the best price in town (as cheap as Walmart). Anyone have a different brand toothbrush they love? ***UPDATE***I called my dentist to see if they had a record of when I bought the toothbrush. It was 2010! Now I can tell DH that we definitely got our money's worth and that I kind of want the same one with the sanitizer and my dentist sells it for $139 (cheap!). No other toothbrush seems to have the sanitizer.

We all have Oral-B and they’ve worked great for us so far. I think we’ve had them going on two years.

After going through a few sonicares I felt like your husband. I bought an oral-b and I've been happy with it for 2 years so far. It takes longer to charge and it's heavier than the sonicare which does make it a little more difficult to travel with but other than that I would recommend them.

After going through a few sonicares I felt like your husband. This is probably our 3rd Sonicare and this one lasted the longest at 3 years. He said Oral B was recommended by his dentist. I have NEVER had a Philips product last more than 5 years and we are just a 2 person household and we are very careful with our stuff. I think those of you that have had things last are the exception, not the rule.

I had a Sonicare that lasted nearly a decade. It wasn't keeping the charge very well so I decided to grab an Oral B at a Boxing Day sale a year ago. BIG MISTAKE. For me - I hated the Oral B, it was heavy and noise and felt like I had a jack hammer in my mouth. And I didn't feel like it did as good of a job. I stuck it out for a year since I bought one of the expensive ones. Finally went back to the Sonicare with a 6100 and couldn't be happier. I will never stray again!

My dentist asked me to switch back to a regular brush because apparently I am too aggressive with the electric ones and it was causing my gums to recede. I really miss my Oral B. The Sonicare one was not my favorite.

When the first one broke I looked it up online and it seemed like the problem was common. I actually contacted them and they sent me a new one (same model) which also broke. It was not great customer service but rather me pushing hard to get a new one since it was still under warranty. They made me send back the broken one! My husband is still using the last sonicare which is probably 3 years old. When it dies he will get an oral-b too.

I use an Oral-B, I have two unopened in the bathroom because my husband keeps buying them for my stocking but my first one is still going strong.
Costco is the best place to buy replacement heads.

I’ve had my Sonicare for 12 years...give or take. After reading this thread I feel fortunate that it’s lasted so long. Hope I’m not jinxing myself

My son just asked for a Quip toothbrush. It just came in the mail the other day so I don't know how he likes it.
I have a Sonicare but rarely use it. I don't like the vibration against my teeth. Do they all feel like the Sonicare?

Do they all feel like the Sonicare? I have a Quip that I have been using the past couple of months. Not having anything to compare it to, I like it. I like that it reminds me to switch to other areas every 30 seconds. Yeah, I have simple likes.

My mom has an oral B that is starting to die so I am buying her a new one in the next day or two. I asked her how old it was and she said my dad bought it for her. He has been dead for 18 years and probably wasn't shopping for about 2 years before that so I think she got her money's worth.

My dentist actually isn't a fan of Sonicares - he says they are too harsh on gums and can cause gums to recede. He doesn't sell any toothbrushes so doesn't have anything to gain or lose by recommending a particular brand. He recommended we switch to either Oral-B or Quip. We each got Quips and he commented to both of us that our gums looked better at our next appointments (neither of us has gum disease, but were both seeing some minor receding because of the "vigorous brushing" of the Sonicare).

My dentist says only buy Oral B or Sonicare, and that if one of those works for you, the other brand probably won't. (Due to the way they shape their brushes or something.) So, if a Sonicare one worked for you previously, that's what I'd stay with.

You don't need to get the model with the sanitizer as you already have it. Just get a new sonicare tooth brush on Amazon for $40. The sanitizer and charger still works. Hubby just got one about 2 weeks ago. My sonicares have died a lot, but get the cheaper ones with the diamond head (35-40) vs one at dentist for $100 or more.

busy, I think that's what I hated about the Sonicare--it was SO hard on my gums. And the sound of that one bothered me. I love my Oral B.

My kids and DH use up and up from target. I’m still using my oral-b. When it dies, I’ll get an up and up.
