I think this covers about all of it.

Those are all the same reasons many Americans hate DT, too.

I’d say those observations are pretty universal aren’t they? But yes, they fit. Strangely written article though - I assume he’s an American living in the UK
Americans are supposed to be nicer than us? I haven’t heard that before 😀 but I’m not disputing it 😉

Yup. Can anyone imagine him ever laughing at himself? The man is so ridiculous that by rights he should keep himself amused for hours but he obviously doesn't 'get' the joke.

“He’s not even a spoiled rich-boy, or a greedy fat-cat. He’s more a fat white slug. A Jabba the Hutt of privilege. ”
My favorite bit. It’s so deliciously (while at the same time repugnantly true) visual. 😅

Also sums it up for me. But I’d go further by saying he fosters hate instead of hope. He’s an embarrassing buffoon.

I have no idea who the writer is, I've never heard of him. Whoever he is, he's nailed it.
One small correction though. The title should read "Why do the majority of the British people not like Trump"

What I cannot understand is how most people around the world see him as this writer does, yet so many Americans in his base agree with his antics. We are the laughingstock of the world and I just don't understand how anyone can agree with how he treats others. How can people recognize it in a playground bully and get upset when their child is treated badly by one, but not get upset when they see the same behaviors in DT?
Another thing have I noticed is that DT never ever smiles. He is a very angry, petty, ungrateful, sad person when he has so much to be thankful for. I sincerely hope we can elect someone who will represent the USA in a much better way next time.

I should have said “all” but I though someone would soon be along and challenge the thought that I knew everyone’s opinion in the uk! I just think that saying majority, to me ,is a higher number than the word most. Maybe it’s no difference. I haven’t met or know anyone that doesn’t think he’s an idiot so maybe it is all of the UK 😏

They have fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

He makes Nixon took trustworthy and George W look smart.... one of my personal favorites!
And tell me I am not the only one who read this aloud inside my head using a thick British accent! It makes it even better IMO.

Unfortunately there are a small minority of Brits who like Trump. I actually met one in real life. She was also a big fan of Nigel Farage, BoJo, and JRM. I’ve avoided talking politics with her ever since.

Fear and hatred. Fear that "others" are coming and want to take what you have - your gun, your life, your property, your loved ones, your job. Fear of what is happening in the future - women and minorities are starting to make decisions, and what if they end up treating you the way you've treated them in the past? The rich keep getting richer and the middle class seems to be shrinking - and what if you end up being on the losing side of that equation? Hatred of people who are different, because they might not think you're great. They might not think you're right. They might have different ways of thinking, different ways of doing things, different ways of talking, different ways of cooking. And if they're different, there's a chance that some of the things that are different about them might be better than your ways. Maybe they work harder, and you'll lose your job because you can't compete with them. Maybe they are better looking, and you won't get a date because you aren't as attractive. Maybe they speak more than one language, and they might be talking about you and laughing at you - and you won't even know about it. Having a guy who tells you that it's OK to hate other people because he hates them too is nice because you don't feel like you're alone. You're "one of the team." You can tell yourself that while you may not be rich or powerful or famous, at least you're not one of those people - you're not gay, or brown, or Muslim, or black. No matter what, you'll always be a "proud white Christian." Even if you haven't really done anything to be proud of and you don't actually follow the teachings of Christ, you get to wear the little pin on your lapel and show everyone that you belong. This place is YOURS! And when you worry about scary things like two men who love each other being allowed to live together and wear wedding rings, or about some "shrill harpy" taking a job at your place of employment and telling you what to do (after all, she was hired as your manager - but you just know she didn't really earn the position, if you know what I mean) - isn't it comforting when a leader says "It's OK, I'll take care of everything. Yes, there are problems - but I can fix them all. Only I can do this. Believe me!"
