Has anyone tried this? I'm getting lots of ads for this product. I'm tempted, because I have a big stinky dog who is hard to bathe.

I have, twice, and I don’t like it. We attached it to our Little Green so that might be why but it is definitely not mess free.

I don't have one, but I just don't see how it could clean a very hair dog that well.

Check in your area and see if there is a pet store or car wash that does pet baths. We have a pet store nearby that has 3 waist height bathing tubs with stairs so the dog can walk up into them, sprayers with long hoses and good water pressure, and dryers (it took Emma a while to get used to those!) They provide the towels, shampoo, etc, all for $10. And we just walk away, my back doesn't hurt, and I don't have to clean up any of the mess. I love it! I've also seen car washes that have an area for DIY dog bathing.

It needs to be the size of a shop vac.

I cannot imagine the fresh hell that would commence as soon as I turned that thing on near one of my dogs. The vacuum cleaner nearly gets me killed here as it is.
