I just spent three nights in a hotel for a work trip. I finished work by 1:30 every day and had plenty of time to scrap. I wanted to watch HGTV as I scrapped, so I didn't want to sit against the wall where the desk was located. I came up with a better plan. Scrapping on an ironing board. I had enough space and didn't lose anything. I finished 24 pages.

I think it’s great that you made good use of your free time. 24 layouts is impressive!

Very cool! You must have been pretty organized to have everything you needed with you. Good job figuring out a way to scrap on the bed!

sweeeeet!! way to go! did you take your photos with you, too, or did you just make the pages from the kit "as-is" to put photos on later? it sounds like you were scrapping a particular trip, if it was a larger kit (looks like beach?)... using a kit for something like that is a good idea, as all the pages will have the same elements.

Yes, It was Scrapbook Generations kit that comes with a cutting guide and all of the paper. I'll add my own embellishments from my stash when I put pictures on the page. I just had 40 pages to do and knew sitting in a hotel for three days would make me jittery with nothing to do.

I wanted to bring some scrapping stuff but didn't do it after I stressed to long about how to make it work. SHOOT. lol

Very impressive. Wish my work trips were like yours! I know. I love my job. I am retired teacher and it was go, go, go. Now it is go, hang out, go. And since I travel alone, it is even better.

Very cool! I use a boot tray, like this one, when I scrapbook in bed. I love it! It will fit 2 PL pages, side by side. Nothing rolls away, And when I am done, I just slide it under my bed until I scrapbook the next night!

I love hotel-room downtime. It's best when there's a lovely view out the window! Looks like you had a mini-retreat with that schedule. How fun!

"And across from the Cheesecake Factory." It's all about location. I think I would have used the table to scrap, and the ironing board adjusted low as a side board. Then sit on a chair instead of the bed.

Then sit on a chair instead of the bed. The table was long and very skinny. It was on the same wall as the tv and I couldn't watch tv. I often scrap from my bed at home and I have a perfectly good scrap room and table at home. Plus every commercial I could just lie back and get comfy. I mean, I had ulterior motives to scrapping on the bed.

My husband took an armorers course in another city and I went with him. While he was in class I hung out in the hotel and scrapped. I thoroughly enjoyed hotel scrapping.

We just stayed at a Home2 Suites hotel and I was thinking of this thread. The rooms have a table on wheels and an office chair. It would be perfect.

My work usually puts me up a Marriott with a kitchen suite. Their rooms are more like large squares and you can turn the television 180 degrees with several good scrapping places. This hotel was more your typical long rectangle with the tv attached to the wall. It worked, but clearly no one was thinking of my scrapping needs when it was booked!

Working to 1:30 was wayyyyy beyond my usual time. . My schedule revolves around observing classrooms (taught by volunteers), so it generally ends before "regular people's" working days.

I'm going on a work trip for a week next month. Will need to remember this trip as I always like to bring projects to work on in the evenings.

I have been thinking of this exact same idea out of desire and need when I couldn't find a scrapbook retreat I could find time to go to. I thought how else can I go away, scrapbook, eat out/in, shop on my own time. So I sought out hotels in other cities close to my own. A getaway but not too far. I'm planning one a trip in May. Oooooooo, maybe a B&B or Airbnb : :

Oooooooo, maybe a B&B or Airbnb : : In my experience, the Marriotts that have the kitchenettes have the best table space. Of course you could bring your own or even bring a Raskog cart for supplies to roll next to table. I liked that I could scrap on the bed, on the couch with a big foot stool, the small kitchen table, or the large work station on the wall.
