Recently we were in the Atlanta airport heading down to New Orleans. There was a woman who was so so loud on her phone repeatedly. At one point she was talking over the employees at the gate giving directions. When they stopped she turned to me and asked what they said. I deadpanned looked at her and said, “I have no idea – I could not hear anything over you talking on your phone. Maybe you should go stand somewhere else the next time a call comes and I’ll let you know what they say.“ She looked absolutely shocked and turned away in a huff. My husband was mortified and the guy across from me gave me a thumbs up, lol.

Yes! I was getting my haircut the other day and some guy had his sound on but was texting. The keyboard clicking was driving me crazy.

Because people feel entitled! They also don't care about the footprint they leave when it comes to their phones. It's the video games/ thinking I want to hear their one sided conversation/ the annoying fucking sounds they've added to alert them when they get a text msg or a call. Once while siiting in the waiting room on the Neuro floor while Spencer was having a surgery a lady came and sat down I was visibly upset and crying she gave not 2 shits about my distress and started texting away with that annoying clicking sound and then was calling people talking about trivial crap. I wanted to say to her not sure if you're fucking aware of it but you actually have the capability to turn off that annoying clicking as you type and can set your phone to vibrate so I and other family members sitting here don't have to hear every alert. From then on I said if I was in a situationl ike that again I'd said something. You are my people. I posted before I read all the comments but I also posted about the keyboard clicking. It drives me bananas.

I keep a pair of headphones in my purse just in case. I don't feel like telling people to be quiet, it stresses me out to have to be confronting people in offices or airports constantly when I should be relaxing and worrying about myself. The headphones are an easy solution to keep me from getting unnecessarily annoyed and angered. I know I can go from 0 to 11 in thirty seconds so why put myself in that situation.

I saw a sign in the doctor's office today reminding people to turn phones off. I apologized to the nurse because I had forgotten. She said, "Oh, that's not for you. It's for those people that answer their phone while the doctor is in here." She said I wouldn't believe how many people will have a conversation while the doctor is trying to examine and talk to them.

Texting sounds have absolutely no purpose what so ever!! Shut them off!! Mine are always off since it bothers me so much I can’t understand why anyone wants keyboard clicks when they aren’t on a keyboard!

She said that people check or answer their phones during an examination. Sorry, but I could (and do) ignore my phone. The exam lasts less than ten minutes and the other person can wait.

I hate the repetitive sounds of games with a passion and I always have the sounds for all of my games muted on my devices. But what drives me even MORE insane is when I have the sound muted on the game but it has annoying, repetitive, interrupting, freaking loud ADS for other games—sometimes games I already downloaded! And those ad sounds *aren’t* muted unless you mute the entire device, and that’s kind of hard to do when it’s your phone and you need the volume on for other apps like GPS navigation, etc. I wouldn’t mind the obnoxious ads nearly as much if they were just silent, but the irritating interruption makes me not want to even think about downloading their obnoxious free game just out of spite.

I am at the point where I want to carry extra ear buds just to be able to hand them to the kid using the play device and the parents who don't think their snowflake needs to use them. "Here, you must have forgotten these." No, don't want to listen to your kid's game while I am trapped on this airplane.

This reminds me of the time I was flying with 1-year-old baby. He got fussy and began to cry mid-flight. It wouldn't stop. I felt so bad for the passengers. I tried crayons, toys, snacks. Nope. He was just done being on a plane. I pulled out my iPad preloaded games of shapes and balls on mute, and he just didn't care. I turned the volume up to low, and the sounds finally got his attention.
He had stopped crying for literally just minutes when the flight attendant slowly walking past noticed and asked me to put it on mute. I apologized and tried to explain how I had only put it on low to get him to stop crying, but she said there were complaints. Plural. Still not sure how that was possible because it really was on low and nobody in my vicinity for had gotten up, but I digress.
I said ok, my mistake then, I figured people would have preferred low twinkle sounds over continous crying. My apologies. So I muted it. And he didn't understand why there were no more sounds (that's really all baby games offer, shapes and sounds) and he started crying again, but worse...
Anyway, sorry if you flew with me from SF to Maryland once and heard a baby crying, then low twinkle sounds, then louder crying. I tried. 😬
