Katie Porter (D-CA) did a number on (Jamie) Diamond from JP Chase bank...... He makes 31 million a year and she asked him how a new employee, one child, making $16.50 and hour could live in Irvine CA... With rent and all her expenses, she would have deficit of $5?? dollars a month. He ended up saying, after hemming and hawing, I don't know, I'll have to think about it... She said how about a better starting pay? ? She did list each expense separately.
It was also on O'Donnell.... She said the new ones have just come from the outside world with new ideas....
I got to think about it... the new ones are females, who have tried to do it on their own, lower pay scale often taking care of children ... I know there have been females before in The Congress, but t has still been mostly older white males who have no clue what things cost or what the daily expenses are ..

Washington Post... ”White House proposed releasing immigrant detainees in sanctuary cities, targeting political foes.” You do understand they are talking about treating people like trash that they can use against their “political foes” don’t you? They have dumped 100s of bus loads in El Paso and other cites with no warning.. Heartless... Sick beyond compare! So how will Trump-lovers who believe immigrants are MS13 gang rapists and murderers feel about having them released? They're either dangerous or not... Their mental gymnastics impresses me.

And what will happen to these poor souls who did not leave the shelters by choice. They will get arrested, jailed and deported, never to be allowed to legally come back, even if they initially tried to apply for asylum.. They will always have that deportation record.

Here’s the Law That Requires Steven Mnuchin to Turn Over Trump’s Taxes, or Lose His Office and Go to PrisonThe law is clear, and it leaves no wiggle room. The consequences for breaking it include removal from public office and up to five years in prison. David Cay Johnston 04.11.19 7:17 PM ET Donald Trump and his top White House aide (Mulvaney) declare that the administration will not give the president's tax returns to Congress, as required under a 1924 anti-corruption law. But both the Treasury Secretary and the tax commissioner have been much more nuanced, saying that they will obey the law even as they delay actually doing so. I know why Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Charles Rettig, the IRS commissioner, are so cautious. They don’t want to be removed from office and sent to prison for five years just for doing Trump’s bidding. The reason will no doubt surprise those who think Trump can thumb his nose at the law governing Congressional access to anyone’s tax returns, including his. It will for sure shock Trump, who claims that "the law is 100 percent on my side." ** www.thedailybeast.com/heres-the-law-that-requires-steven-mnuchin-to-turn-over-trumps-taxes-or-lose-his-office-and-go-to-prison?ref=scrollUnfortunately I cannot read this whole piece. Anyone have a subscription? This was discussed on Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell. In the TAX Law maze or regulations there is one .... #7214 any Federal employee that does not follow the law/regulation SHALL be fired and up to $10,000 fine and up to 5 years in jail. I sat here yelling at the TV,"Who will file the charges, who will prosecute them? Barr? Who? Exactly. It really doesn’t matter what the law says.

Here is why AOC should think before she speaks. No matter how righteous she thought she was, you are never going to win a battle calling out an ex-military person who served in the Middle East and suffered an injury for not “doing something” when it comes to terrorism. Yes I know this guy can be a royal pain in the ass.
Yes from Fox News..
”Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., faced mounting criticism Thursday for feuding with freshman colleague Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, over his response to domestic terrorism.
The dustup began after Crenshaw reacted to comments made by Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., who had been criticized for characterizing the 9/11 terrorist attacks as “some people did something.”
“First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something.’ Unbelievable,” Crenshaw tweeted.
That prompted Ocasio-Cortez to defend her Minnesota ally, going after the Texas congressman for not co-sponsoring the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund.
“In 2018, right-wing extremists were behind almost ALL US domestic terrorist killings. Why don’t you go do something about that?” Ocasio-Cortez told Crenshaw.
That sparked an avalanche of outrage, many pointing to Crenshaw’s service as a Navy SEAL in the war in Afghanistan as well as his sacrifice.
The tweets that started this...

As it is, the Trump WH are monsters. Honestly I think that was their fear - that the news would report that the refugees had been dumped, followed by images of those cities organizing food, shelter and care for the refugees. What could make the Trump admin look worse?

Military service notwithstanding. He recently decided to mainsplain border security issues to a female border security expert, for example. There are lots of other instances as well. AOC got another strike with me this week when she parroted the ed "reformer" line that 2/3 of American kids are reading below grade level. This is patently untrue for a number of reasons, but is also used by "reformers" as an argument for dismantling/defunding public schools. Big nope from me. I hope she takes up Diane Ravitch's offer to educate her on this issue.

When our kids did the baseline testing for the state tests, they were given in May and wherever the 70% cut off was for kids (meaning 70% of the kids, not 70% of the curriculum) was where they put the below grade level. The next year the kids were testing in March for the same test. They lost 2/9 (22%) of the time to learn how to read (math and writing included). Then they said that our kids were getting dumber. So frustrating how some of these assessments work so no matter how much a kid can do, it doesn't look like they do know what they know.

I said somewhere else that the new ones are making noise, energetic, making us think and yes pissing many off too. Omar needs to tone it down, AOC was protecting her, because Omar has awkwardly spoken out, They need to stop including Crenshaw. They need to learn to get along to accomplish things, and not become McConnell, Graham or others...so very partisain. I had thought this the other day with all the mess with dt's judge picks I it was Reagan who appointed Maryann Trump Barry to her District Court, but it was Clinton who appointed her to the Court of Appeals. Judges used to be appointed reasonably....

This is the problem the way I see it. If she was just one of the freshmen Congress folks, I could care less what she says, but rightly or wrongly the media is making AOC one of the prominent faces of the Democratic Party. Anytime one attacks a decorated service person they are going to lose in the public eye. So regardless of her reasons for speaking out, she is coming out on the short end of the stick. And we really don’t need that right now. Hopefully she will learn to think before she speaks because she is in a position where it matters what she says. And she needs to knock off these silly feuds she gets into. She needs to learn to pick her battles to where they mean something. IMO

Trump just changed direction AGAIN today. This morning he said they would not be busing immigrants to sanctuary cities, and now says they will be.
Playing a cruel fucking game with real human beings' lives. To throw red meat to his base. Each time, I think he can't get any lower. He honestly thinks this is fun. He's got an evil soul, if he even has one.

It was true!! The fact that he even thought it. GOP and family should be so proud of him! Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump said Friday that he is considering releasing immigrants into so-called sanctuary cities in part to retaliate against Democrats, undercutting earlier denials from his own administration officials."Due to the fact that Democrats are unwilling to change our very dangerous immigration laws, we are indeed, as reported, giving strong considerations to placing Illegal Immigrants in Sanctuary Cities only," Trump tweeted. "The Radical Left always seems to have an Open Borders, Open Arms policy -- so this should make them very happy!" The President's tweets come after the White House and Department of Homeland Security said they were no longer pursuing the suggestion to have DHS release immigrants detained at the southern border into sanctuary cities in part to retaliate against Democrats who oppose Trump's plans for a border wall. "The idea was briefly and informally raised and quickly rejected," a White House official told CNN Friday "No one at ICE was pressured by anyone at any time." ** www.cnn.com/2019/04/11/politics/immigrant-detainees-sanctuary-cities/index.html

Herman Cain is expected to withdraw. But there still Stephen Moore. Trump's Fed pick Stephen Moore is a self-described 'radical' who said he's not a 'big believer in democracy'(CNN)Stephen Moore, who President Donald Trump announced last month as his nominee for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, has a history of advocating self-described "radical" views on the economy and government. In speeches and radio interviews reviewed by CNN's KFile, Moore advocated for eliminating the corporate and federal income taxes entirely, calling the 16th Amendment that created the income tax the "most evil" law passed in the 20th century. Moore's economic worldview envisions a slimmed down government and a rolled back social safety net. He has called for eliminating the Departments of Labor, Energy and Commerce, along with the IRS and the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. He has questioned the need for both the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Department of Education. He has said there's no need for a federal minimum wage, called for privatizing the "Ponzi scheme" of Social Security and said those on government assistance lost their dignity and meaning. In other interviews and appearances, Moore repeatedly said he believed capitalism was more important than democracy. Trump announced he would nominate Moore to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors last month. Moore works at the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. He served as an adviser to Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign and is a friend of the president's economic adviser Larry Kudlow. He was formerly a CNN contributor. The nomination immediately drew criticism because Moore has been a fierce critic of the Federal Reserve and its chairman Jerome Powell. In 2015, he called for abolishing the Federal Reserve and returning to a gold standard (Moore told CNN's Erin Burnett on Thursday he changed his mind on the gold standard. He told CNN's KFile on Friday he no longer believed in abolishing the Federal Reserve). ** www.cnn.com/2019/04/12/politics/stephen-moore-kfile/index.htmlStephen Moore has child support issues, IRS issues, wants 1/2 the departments shut down. He has had some kind of relationship with the boyfriend of Marina Butina, he even gets Christmas cards from him!!

We hirer ONLY the best!! A federal investigation into AccuWeather reportedly found that the company had a culture of “rampant sexual harassment and retaliation” while run by one of President Trump’s nominees. The Washington Post reported Friday that at the time of the incidents detailed in the report, the federal contractor was run by Barry Myers, who Trump has since nominated to lead the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Post obtained a copy of the 2017 report, compiled by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, which details dozens of witness accounts about nonconsensual touching, kissing and groping, as well as retaliation for complaints at AccuWeather.“Over two dozen witnesses spanning many different departments and in positions ranging from administrative support to senior management described unlawful sexual harassment that occurred at the company,” the report said, according to the Post.
