There is a Howard Johnson's Express we stay at when visiting our daughter that charges $1.50 a night to use the in-room safe. You have to tell them if you did not use it.
Then there is the Wi-fi fees at fancy hotels, but smaller ones don't charge.

Lots of the same things mentioned before like car registration, car inspection, cable TV and resort charges plus..
diabetic test strips - my 10 yr old gets 250 a month RX but we have had to purchase out right when we run out..OUCH!
the extra fees on phone and cable bills
Charging more for long hair at salon when I'm just having the ends of straight hair trimmed
Parking fees at theme parks that already charge almost $100 a day to get in
"Restaurant tax" added to some bills in tourist cities/counties like where I live. Sucks for the locals.

At the moment - chairs. I was a couple of 'easy' chairs/fireside chairs and they're like £300 - £400!!!! For a chair!! I just don't see it.

Sucks for the locals. For the test strips: have her endo write that she needs to test 10 times a day, so you will get 300 per month. At one point, they tried to tell us my son could only have 150 per month. Yeah, that would last us 15 days, who is paying for the other 15 days?!?!? Also, worst case scenario, Wal-Mart brand test strips are $9.99 for 50 and are accurate from what we've heard. But yes, diabetic test strips are a huge racket in this country!

I didn't see anything on the news about this, but I knew it was coming because the manager at my Qdoba told me a few weeks ago. I've been in a few times since the prices changed and they've always been very up front to all the customers that the prices went up a bit but now everything on the line was included. Most people seemed happy about the change, I only saw one customer get pissy about it, but they tried to explain it to him from the get-go and he was being gruff and wouldn't listen to them but still bitched when he got to the cash register and it was more than he was expecting. I encouraged him to get the guac to make him feel better about paying more For customers like you, I can see that not being a win, for customers like me (I always paid the extra $1 for guac), it's a win. How is it a win? You pay the same amount now as you did before. For you it's a wash, for others it's a hike with no return. But I don't. The guac was a $1.29 charge before and our prices only went up 75 cents, at least for the burrito (was $7.05 and now it's $7.80). Maybe some other items went up more.

I know that printer ink is expensive but the printer companies loose money on each printer they sell the only way they make any money is on the ink. My DH works at HP. If they could sell the printers for what it costs to make them vs loosing, ink would be cheaper - they also know that a lot of people will be buying the cheap generic ink that will ruin their printers and then wonder why. Or maybe they could make a printer that conserves inks and comes in a large enough container that one can print more than three docs without having to change and yeah, never mind. It's a ripoff. Smart people should be able to find a way...

Everything that women pay for. I think we pay more.for everything. Clothing, pedicures, hair products. Add to that the cost of internet and cell phone plans. Highway robbery. Add dry cleaning. My blouses cost more than my husband's shirts, and his shirts are larger. It's definitely a female/male clothing thing, not a size thing, as my blouses also cost more than my boys' dress shirts, and the boys' shirts are smaller.

Our next door neighbour who has a new chain saw, jig saw thing-OMG! He never stops! He even built himself a tarp so he can work in the rain. He isn't working away from home currently (maybe he lost his job?) and starts every single morning around 8:30 am and doesn't stop until 7:00 at night. We have no idea what he is building, but he could have built the Taj Mahal (spelling?) by now. It's a b*tch for someone with migraines. Anyone know of some real, heavy duty earplugs that really work? We can hear him right through our walls. Debbie in MD. Don't know if anyone answered you yet as I have not read the whole thread but I just bought some new one's from Home Depot that are the BOMB!!! I have to wear them every night because my dh is a snorer. They are bright orange color and work for up to 32db.

Ametalilchick-Thank you so very much! I'm going to go to Home Depot and look for these. They are bright orange you say? Well 32 db ought to just about cover it. Thanks again!!! By the way, I think I figured out today what he is making. We saw the house before they moved in. It had one of those look through glass fire places in the middle of the living/dining rooms. Just gorgeous that went all the way up to the ceiling. Well, he is covering that up with wood planks. Ugh. I saw it on their back deck. Looked so much better before!
