DH and I are due for phone upgrades so we visited the phone store today to try and decide what we were going to do. After the visit, we have decided to stick with Android phones instead of switching to iPhones. We decided on the Galaxy S5 (we both currently have the S3) and then I saw that they had a display model of the new Note 4. Like a fool, I picked it up. And I used the stylus. And the camera. Now I'm all like this... and this and this . It doesn't help that there's a special that will double my trade-in value on my old phone so I'd end up paying approx. $150 for it, which is only $20 more than the S5. So tell me what you think about your Note and if you'd get one again. Thank you for talking me into/out of this purchase.

I have the Note 2 and love it...I will be upgrading to the 4 when my contract is up.
Although I should add that I do not use the pen to it's full capacity and need to learn more about it. I love the size though, I got it when it first came out.

Same with me...I have the note 2 and will be upgrading to the note 4. Love the stylus. Plus I use mine for business a lot and I can manipulate spreadsheets easily. On a fun note, I use the stylus for draw something - it rocks. It's big, but I dig that. My phone is a work horse and I've never had trouble.

I love my phone itself and all its features, but I have had a ton of problems with my phone. My first one had the motherboard or something short out and now I have had 3 other refurbished phones that have all had problems with the charger port. So overall I like the phone but it hasn't been the most reliable phone

I switched from an iPhone to the 3 and I love it. I don't know that I will be going back. I primarily got it for the size and I don't regret it. I love the pen. My boys love to color with the pen. My husband thought it was the stupidest thing he has ever seen and now is wondering about going to a larger size phone. But, he needs to have an Apple phone for work. I haven't had any problems with it. Stacy

How is the note different from the galaxy line? I am beyond ready to update my phoneasaurus but just can't decide.

How is the note different from the galaxy line? I am beyond ready to update my phoneasaurus but just can't decide. The Note is like the iPhone 6+ - it's the bigger/better version of the Galaxy S5. It has some extra features, better display, a stylus (so note taking is easy!) and OIS for the camera (optical image stabilization), plus the front camera is 3.7 mp with a 90 degree angle (to get more people in group selfies). But it's big - 6" x 3.1" x .3". The Galaxy S5 is 5.6" x 2.9" x .3". I take way too many pictures and I wonder if this will be too big to easily do it with one hand - I think that's the main concern I have. I'm going to take another trip to the store today to see it again. I really like that it felt more "solid" than the S5 and I am completely sucked in by the stylus and it's possibilities. As you can see, I am really trying to talk myself into this phone LOL!

That was one of the reasons I considered the iPhone because I love the lightning connection on my iPad mini.

I absolutely love my Note 3. My DH and I both have them and love them. I love the size, love the pen. We play games a lot and watch Netflix and other videos but are happy with battery life, performance, etc. No problems yet and we've had them for at least 6 months.
Edited to add that my DH takes great pictures with his! (I'm a pretty mediocre at best photographer, so you couldn't judge the phone's capabilities on my pics).

I have the S3 now and had planned to go the Note 4. I saw a lot of CNET shows from IFA and I really want the Edge but I don't know when it will be released in the US. If it is sooner rather than later, I think I will wait for the Edge.

Have an iPhone5 and have no plans for the 6. Will be looking at the Samsung Note 4 or the Edge.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I was about to pull the trigger and pre-order when it seems that my car sensed that elation and decided to breakdown (at least it did it in my driveway). I'll be deciding on a new phone after the mechanic lets me know how bad things are.

I love my Note 3. My dh wasn't too sure when we went to get our new phones, but he thought it best we get the same type phone, and he loves it, too. I love the stylus and use it all the time! My phone screen doesn't get as smudgy because of that. it really does take great pictures. I have plans to always have my phone in this size, too, because you can see so much more and so much better than on the little screens. (of course, I'm 50, so my eyesight will never get better than it is right now.)
I always keep it in my purse, so the size isn't a problem. I have never been one to carry it in my pocket. Of course, I didn't use a cell phone for years due to a hearing problem, but I may not have used my pocket then, anyway, because I have always been a purse-carrier. It does, however, fit inside my front pocket for those times I briefly put it there to have my hands free.

Just a side note...I was having trouble finding a wristlet to fit the phone but finally found one by vera bradley. It's like it was made for the note.

Love my Note 3. It is big but the features are fabulous and the camera takes great pictures. I came from an IPhone and love the clear screen and display.

I've had my Note 2 for almost two years and love everything about it. I'm trying to resist getting the 4 when it comes out...
DH used to roll his eyes at my phone, but once he used it a couple times, especially the nav/driving app on a big screen, he is sold. His company recently decided to support android as well as Apple, so he'll be getting the Note 4 soon. It'll be quite a step for him as he currently has an old flip/dumb phone where he has to press multiple times for letters when he texts and all that old quaint stuff.

Well the car pitched a very cheap (thank goodness) fit and someday they'll figure out how the rock got between the brakes and the wheel and made that incredible awful noise (yes - towed it 30 miles to the dealership only to find it was that!). But that means I get the phone! Now the big dilemma for me - black or white? It's definitely "look at me I'm awesome" in the white and much more understated in the black. I went back to the store last night to decide and couldn't. Any opinions on this? I know it seems silly, but I tend to overthink things, especially when I'm going to have it for a few years. At least it won't be a long wait. If I'm lucky, I can get it on the release date of October 17!

I think it'll fit in one of my older Coach ones, but I'd like a casual one for it. I'll check those out. (and I'm really feeling like this inside as I think about getting the new phone and the goodies to go with it - )
