My awesome scrap retreat owner is having her first “garage sale” event. We can rent a space for $25 to sell unwanted supplies. My style has changed and I have so much to purge. I have a crap ton of Bazzill Cardstock. Multitudes of pretty colors and textures. Typically five per color. I really just use white, black, gray, pink, aqua anymore.... I have a bunch of Basic Grey patterned paper, Wild Asparagus, MME and American Crafts designers. Add to that embellishments, ribbon, you name it. It will be nice to downsize my stash to just what fits my current style.
Does anyone that have been successful at this before have any suggestions or advice for staging, pricing, etc? I will donate any unsold items to either a school or my local senior center. Thanks so much for the help!

I have been very successful doing this numerous times. My number one tip is price is to go. Tag sale pricing. Its not doing you any good sitting in your craft room I also would grab 20-30 sheets of cardstock, etc. put it in a 2 gallon ziplock bag and price it at 2 bucks... I don't let them open it, but they know its a good deal and I always sell it all. Good luck.

Yikes - I think $25 is a lot for a table. You have to really sell to get beyond that initial cost. Whenever I did a yard sale event, and I did many, I put a whole lot of things priced under $1 or $1. I found people would rather pay 75 cents for 5 sheets of paper than $2 for 20.
There is something about picking up a pile of things for 25 cents each than dropping a $5 bill.
Whatever you do, price it to sell, lower than other people, drop the price after the first 2 hours and think about what you would pay for it at a yard sale and price lower than that. You don't want it so get rid of it. Make it so people can't walk away to the next table.

I will donate any unsold items to either a school or my local senior center. Thanks so much for the help! I'm also attending this event as a seller - hi! I have a bunch of things that are bundled together (like a pp suggested - 20 card stock for $2). I will also have an "Everything's $1" type box. Most of my items are priced $5 and under, with the majority being $3 and under. If you have items with larger quantities you could also try some discount pricing such as $3 each or 2 for $5 || Buy 2 get 1 free, etc. I will be pricing my stamps with some kind of discount pricing tiers. As for staging, my goal is to arrange the table as I would if it were a craft show. Use boxes/crates/shelving to help create different "levels" on your table. Try not to have anything sitting flat on the table. Do a Google Image search of "craft show table ideas" to find lots of great examples of single tables that are staged for selling.

Yes, $25 for the table is way too much. I pay $10 for a whole table. Some of the ladies split a table, others buy 2 or 3 tables. I enjoy participating just for the conversations and meeting friends. I have to sell all my stuff because of the new stuff I buy from the others … so I have stuff to sell next year.

Maybe the pricing is regional...We have a very high cost of living here, so I don't think the $25 table is unreasonable.

I haven't sold, but I have bought at these events. If you have alphas and embellishments as well as paper, one thing I bought was a ziploc bag with cardstock, patterned paper, a few stickers or an alpha, or some embellishments that coordinated. It didn't have to be from the same collection, just a similar theme or colour palette. I've bought these for $3-$7 depending on how much was in the bag.

I've done a few scrappy garage sales, and the cost per table has been about $25. Sometimes I'll rent two, especially if I have a lot of stuff. The first time I did a sale, I paid $25 for one table and ended up making about $750 at the end of the day.
