My youngest son is home sick from school (and is currently napping) so I'm in my office, working on a layout. I purchased the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection from Peachy Cheap a few months ago and I'm trying to make it work with my photos. It's a cute collection but very feminine! I think it was an impulse purchase when the kit went live at midnight! I did find a photo of my sister and nephew that is really cute and matches the colors of the collection; I'm trying to make it work!
Anyone else crafting today?

My kiddos are napping, so I am going to head into my room in a few. I am still chugging away at December Daily.

Yes! We are having a massive ice/snow storm in MN and my work closed and so did DS school. He is working on homework lol and I am working on a layout of our Portland, OR trip. I really want that wolf pack paper for this, lol. But the book for this trip is almost done, so another time!

Oh and this morning I did that "if you love it chop it" thing with all my patterened scraps to make them into card bases. Whew! That was a lot! Close to 20 yrs of scraps lol. I don't even want to look at my cutter right now.
(edited to add that I have been working on this for weeks, so did not do 20 yrs in one morning, lol. Just finished this am)

I got to mat some photos for a 2 pager and that’s about it before getting supper ready. It should come together easily since I was already playing around with placement... I hope anyway. I’m hoping to get another done after supper or at least get it started. I’ve done a lot of organizing this month and have quite a few page kits ready.

I should be making cards for my shop but I have been messing around with other things on my craft desk - making color swatch labels for my markers, coloring in some digital stamps (that I bought because of a thread here) with said markers, chopping up the 7 cent clearance papers I bought at Joann's the other day, sticking some of them down to card bases. I have a big stack of upcycled/re-made Xmas cards that I want to put away in my donation bin but I'd like to take care of the inside sentiments before I put them away so I don't have to do them all at once at Xmas-time. But I already have such a stack that I don't want to do them! ugh. And I have a massive stack of cards to finish off for Cards for Hospitalized Kids - I might need to get some friends to come over and help me out with those. I get into a mindset of wanting to finish all my half-done projects before I jump into my real work, but all the half-done projects are soooo much work... why do I always do this to myself?! lol. My digi/scrappy projects are very low on the priority list right now I guess if I stopped coming here to whine all the time I'd have more time to craft! lol. whatever. I like talking to you guys when I need a break!

Nope. Shopping today. I had to drive an hour to go to a wake (brother's wife's father) and I decided to stop at a JoAnn's to see if I might pick up some more of the new stuff. I was disappointed at first when I got to the parking lot and checked to see what the coupons were worth, but then I discovered they had 40 percent off all scrapbook, and they still had *lots* of the new stuff left. It's a good thing I picked up the Sparkle City pad last week because they were gone, but I grabbed up a bunch more of the new releases and a handful of clearance 6x6 pads too. I'll be set for awhile now!

I made a couple of bulletin boards at the school where I volunteer. It was kind of like crafting. One of the teachers had me make a basketball hoop with yarn and paper.

I made 4 Easter cards and finished up a layout. I took Thursday and Friday off work. I did not want to deal with the spring blizzard.

Weather permitting, I'm going to a crop tomorrow. Have just one bag packed and my tool tote. This is unheard of for me, but I am just taking kits.
Supposed to be sleet and ice tomorrow and it is two hours away. Hopefully the forecast is wrong.

I made 4 Easter cards and finished up a layout. That's a great idea! I'm normally not a springy, pastel type of person, but I love it in Easter lines! I haven't scrapped much of that subject lately because of my kids being older and my youngest not being into the holiday at all. It will be fun to make for some people at my son's school.

mikklynn I made 10 very simple cards! I mostly used the Echo Park Happy Easter line and the strip on each 12x12 paper says the name of the line in two places! Ten instant ready made Happy Easter greetings to adhere to the cards. I used my tiny scissors to cut out the name of the designer so it would work!
I challenged myself to use my often neglected alphabet stickers and "sign" my son's name with them on the cards. I tried to use colors that are usually hard for me to work with. I used quite a few orange, one pink, and a multi colored alpha. I didn't make a dent. I forgot about a stack of white alpha stickers I bought at the SEI warehouse sale. It's crazy how many alphas one iris case will hold. Then there's the mini alpha stamps that can be used indefinitely.

I'm excited because I FINALLY used the Brusho pigment powders I bought last year! Of course I just had to have them, I was totally obsessed about them for ages, but by the time I got them I was too busy with other things and then I didn't want to clean up and then make a big mess... So I kept putting off trying them... for about 6 months! I hate that. It makes me feel really bad about spending money on something if I don't use it right away. So I decided today should be the day I finally give them a whirl.
I got out a bunch of watercolor panels and started spritzing and sprinkling the powders, focusing on the black powder which I saw on a Kristie Marcotte 10 Halloween card video. It has turquoise and orange pigments in it that combine to make black, so it's really fun to use for galaxy backgrounds. I ended up trying about half of the colors I bought and made half a dozen backgrounds with constellations heat embossed on some of them. I tried to really just play around and not worry too much about the results. Now I need to figure out what to do with them to turn them into cards. But I'm so happy I finally tried them out and now I know exactly how messy they are (moderately) and how cool they are (very) and I have some ideas on how to use them in the future.
